The owner was great on the phone and I had an appointment within 20 minutes. I'm sure they have busier parts of the day and this was at 10:30-11am. The nail technician was very polite and cordial. She took her time with my pedicure and manicure, and did extra coats of polish without me requesting. I had the "basic" pedicure was as good as some of the "spa" pedicures I've paid for over the years. Thank you again to the nail tech and other employees for your patience, kindness and service. So yesterday, I decided to start looking up other salons. I read review after review and looked at so many pictures. I decided on Young Nails & Spa, and I'm so glad I did! I don't remember the name of the guy who did my nails and toes, but the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. My biggest gripe with my old salon was that my nails were never shaped evenly, and the polish around my cuticles always looked like a mess. I like my nails short and simple, but I still want them to look nice. I left beyond happy with the service I received. I will definitely be returning to Young Nails & Spa when it's time for a fill!

RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL STAFF AND OWNER. I went in several weeks ago saying gel always chips on me…read more I asked if I should get dipping powder. The man doing my nails said no. He would save me from having to take them off and did a full with pink powder. I went back for a fill Wednesday and wanted a different color. She did gray powder over the pink powder. She was saying she had an appointment soon and was rushing. Some nails were all gray, some were mostly pink, some were pink and gray. I questioned this and she said it's nice it's hombre. I said not when they all look completely different. She copped an attitude and put another layer of gray on. She rushed and basically pushed me out the door while running to her car. I stayed and asked to see the owner. He was gone. Another woman tried to correct the nails but said they should have never been done that way. She asked for my name and number, said she would explain to the owner and that he would call me about next steps. After 3 days, nothing so I went in today (Saturday). The owner claimed to know nothing about it. He said his best tech would help me. Going back and forth they finally said I should have them soaked off completely and go back to acrylics with gel. I told him I just paid $55 three days ago, not including tip, and $55 a few weeks before that and I would not be paying for a new full set. A pregnant woman helped me. It took forever to soak them off and my hands were starting to burn. The woman was clearly not happy with me and not nice at all. When I went to leave I stopped at the front desk. The tech came over and said to a woman at the desk, in English so I could hear, "I did a full set, don't know about my $60". I said call the owner out here please. She called, spoke in her language then told me he said I was all set. I said well what about your money? She said he said you're all set. I said he really won't come up here and talk to me? She said I told him to but I guess he's busy. I walked out and will NEVER return!!!!! ***EDIT to update. I went shopping next door and realized all my nails underneath were not filed down. They were very bumpy and thick underneath. I came back to show them. I was clear that I didn't want anything in return but I thought the owner should know and was upset that he didn't come out to talk to me before I left and that he never called me back the first time they messed up. The woman said, "When you left, we thought you were happy with the gray acrylic." Mind you, I had never seen this woman before! I said, "No, that American woman over there knew I was upset and agreed they looked horrible and said she would have him call me." The woman walked away then came back and handed me her phone, which was on speaker. He started screaming at me, repeatedly saying to me, "Get the F@CK out of my store now or I will call the police." I was shocked. I looked at the American woman and said, "Did you or did you not take my name and number and say he would call me back?" She boldface lied and said I was supposed to call back if I wanted something different. I stopped in to get my old gel nails cut down and re-done. I was taken in immediately and the…read moregentleman was courteous. I wanted new builder gel and my nails to be square at fingertip length. I was told 10% do builder gel and everyone else wants acrylic. He painted the builder gel on-2 layers. Made me cure both layers. Nothing like what I had done with gel before. Once he e-filed down, my nails were very thin and bending along a few edges. The sidewalls of my nails were angled in. Several nails are varying shapes. My thumb is separating from the gels already/lifting. The nail (gel) polish application is lumpy and you can see the uneven painting. Just not a great experience or presentation. I can do better myself-and will probably start doing so.
