We have used Slade glass for 3 installations and been happy with their work and charges. However,…read morethey have changed recently. We recently asked them to remove the shower glass so that the shower tile could be redone, and then come back afterward and reset the same glass. The first part of the job took 30 minutes. Resetting took another hour and a half. We were charged $550. Labor only. No parts. That is $225/hr. When we objected, they wouldn't budge. They said they also charged for the driving time. Since when do repair companies charge labor charges for driving to yoir home? We live 10 minutes from Boulder or Longmont. I will not use them again. They are no longer a company I trust.

Brian came to our office on November 8th to do an assessment for a glass door and provide a quote;…read moresaid we would have a quote from their project manager within the next week. Never received the quote. Went to their Longmont office on December 17th and met with their project manager, who apologized profusely. Paraphrased: "Sorry, it was just sitting on my desk, I don't know how I missed it. I'll get it to you in the next ten minutes." Confirmed email address and all contact information from the original assessment sheet. Did not receive the quote in the next ten minutes (or ever.) On December 31st, 2 weeks since the last meeting and almost 8 weeks since the original assessment, we still do not have a quote. Called this morning at 10:04 am and spoke with Rebecca, who said the project manager was in a meeting but would get on it "soon," who then hung up on me abruptly when I asked if it would be by noon or some other time today. Called back again before close of business at 3:40 pm, reached Rebecca again, who said the project managers were out for the day, then said she could leave a message with them to follow up after New Years Day. Began to express my frustration that they don't seem interested in actually providing a quote and have misrepresented their timeline for providing one multiple times and she hung up on me mid sentence. Utterly incompetent and dishonest people, will never do business with them.

I am beginning to believe that Sam and his company are a big sham. We had 8 windows installed over…read morethe weekend, very nice looking windows but now I see how he got them so cheap. Either window is removable from the outside if they are unlocked. Does anyone else see a problem with this? So if you leave a window open in any way for some fresh air, anyone could walk over and remove your windows, no need to break them and make all that noise, just lift up and out comes the window. Sam explains that these are what everyone is putting in, I find that is not true at all. One window is fixed or in other ways not removable from the outside. Sam needs to resolve this problem or every news channel in the state is getting my video on how easy it is to remove these windows and his address as he says he has the same windows in his house.

Sam Picollo holds himself out as a licensed General Contractor. What he appears to be is a salesman…read morethat has figured out how to put himself between licensed tradesman and the consumer charging an exorbitant fee for an introduction. We hired Sam to install a new roof on our home in Golden. He told us he was charging cost + 15% and had a roofing license. He hired another company Right Roofing 720-440-0394 to install the roof. Right Roofing did a great job putting on the roof, however when it was time for the final payment, I asked to see the roofing license and have a certificate filled out to receive a $500 rebate from my insurance company. Sam went crazy texting "you want me to go and get licensed in Golden when you pulled permit" What????? this guy doesn't know the contractor's license comes from the state? I told him I pulled the permit because when I checked with Jefferson County he hadn't, which necessitated getting a structural engineer to come out and do the mid-roof inspection at a cost of $450. We found out from Right Roofing 720-440-0394 that Sam charged us almost 40% over cost and when I asked to see his license he went ballistic sending threatening texts and emails screaming about me not wanting to pay him. See his email below: The problem is that you never finished paying for the job and your doing things very unprofessional !!! I will follow the legal channels!!! It will cost you much more when the judge gets involved !!! I believe my contract is pretty straight forward !!! Why are you trying to figure out how to not pay ??? I had a feeling from the beginning that you were the type that wanted to get over on your workers!! Being the wealthy person you are you should be ashamed of taking advantage of the average poor worker!! The system deals with this very well . The more you talk nonsense motivates me to get the paper work filed ! Your intentions our not to finish paying its obvious!!! I personally think this was premeditated. Now let's quit looking for reasons not to pay! The system will be the mediator not you. Have a great day Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile First-Sam is mistaken we aren't rich as he asserts. In addition, I think he premeditated this situation to try and extort money from us by going to court. I have told this guy at least 4-5 times in text and email that I will pay him the total amount we owe if he produces a roofing license or the amount we owe less the insurance rebate, since I would not have hired him if I had known he didn't have a license. He is insisting on taking us to court and has not finished paying his subcontractor putting us at risk for a lien on our house.
