Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I purchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience. read more

He explained what we would get, who would be doing the installation, and, since the windows were being custom made to our window sizes, when to expect the installation to be done. After going through the headache of getting quotes from several window companies, JDI was a standout for both customer service, pricing, and quality. If you're in the market for windows you know, or soon will, that high pressure sales are the preferred tactic for most retailers. They will try to force you to commit to an overpriced product at a "discount" if you give up you ability to look into their quality claims or make comparisons. This was NOT my experience with JDI windows. Rex, the co-owner, is a straight forward business who stands behind his product and doesn't try to over-sell it to you. From sales, to ordering, to measuring, and installation, I couldn't be happier with this window buying experience. If you're in the market for custom home windows I cannot recommend skipping the big name national brands and going straight to JDI windows. I have a 1940's bungalow here in Denver. The windows are original to the home, so they were in dire need of replacing. I called and had 4 window companies come to my home to give me estimates. JDI came in the least expensive (while still having a great quality window) with no pressure to sign on the dotted line like another well-known window company did. JDI was professional, accommodating, and went above and beyond from start to finish with this project. I was particularly blown away by their efficiency regarding time and their high standards during installation. Casey's Crew were wonderful to work with during installation and the tall dude with those "tattoo's" worked extra hard ;) His daughter gave him those temp tattoos and I told him I'd mention them since I said "those aren't real!" We got quotes from a few window companies, and decided to go with JDI and Rex (owner). Rex was the same person who turned me away 2 years prior when I tried to get new basement windows. Instead of taking my money, and throwing in new windows, he told me I needed to address the window well & grading issues we had first (water coming in through the windows). I appreciated his honesty, and prioritizing me being happy with the end results rather than taking my money. Because of that, we included JDI in our estimates when we were ready to replace 8 windows through out the house. Rex was the one that came to our house to give the estimate, and I appreciated that at no time did he try to push more windows on us. Instead, he asked what our budget was, and allowed for us to make the decisions on how many windows we included. Again, I appreciated that at no time was Rex pushing me to spend more money. In fact, we agreed to an amount that was well under the budget that we shared with him, but was an amount of windows that we felt would make use happy, and he was more than happy to accommodate that. He was very knowledgeable, and stayed at our home answering our questions for over an hour. Todd & Cameron were our installers, and the entire experience was incredibly enjoyable. They were friendly, courteous, and diligent. They showed up on time, and communicated with us leading up to the installation. They ensured that the trim that they replaced matched the style and color to the remaining windows in the house, and did a great job on a particularly tricky window. They also cleaned up after the job was done, and helped me out by taking measurements of the remaining windows, should we decide to get them done later on. Overall, I am very pleased with product/service that we received, and would recommend if you are in the market for new windows. read more

I had JDI Windows install new vinyl windows throughout my home inculding two sliding patio doors back in 2016. Recently, I had a piece of the latch come off on one of the sliding patio screen doors. I called Rexford at JDI to see if they could do a repair. He did something much better! He sent out one of his installers with a new latch assembly and had it replaced. And, this was done at no charge. This kind of customer service is unheard of! This job was originally done 9 years ago long after any warranty was in place. We were looking to get several quotes for windows. I found JDI Windows on Yelp, and several good calls with them, and (as often happens) life gets in the way, and we had to reschedule a few times. Rex was kind enough to come out on a Saturday and give us a quote. We didn't end up choosing JDI, due to some miscommunication between myself and Rex (all resolved, but we lost time). Since they didn't do the install I can't give them a 5 star review, but I wouldn't hesitate to call JDI if I ever needed a quote again. Great people and local business that is active in the community (the kind of business that you want to support, and see succeed)...definitely put them on your shortlist when you are shopping for windows. read more

Rex was super helpful and honest. He gave us great advice on what we were looking for in new windows. He was very responsible, friendly, and a good communicator. Unfortunately we could not use JDI windows because we really wanted garden windows, which he doesn't do because of hail potential and other issues that can come with garden windows. We just really love our plants in this house and will take our chances. We really like how Rex keeps his business model simple. As far as I can tell he deserves his high ratings across all platforms. You would be crazy NOT to hire JDI. I received multiple quotes for new windows and delt with some awful sales folks and then there is Rex who has put in the effort to build a great company. Honesty and integrity are the two words that first come to mind. He was very open and honest on pricing, and it was very eye opening as to how much other companies out there gouge you and waste your time by constantly lowering their initial bid as an "in the neighborhood special". 7 yrs later, still happy. Friends got an outrageous quote for windows, which prompted me to look at who did our windows years ago. Our friend's quote was over 6x what we paid 7 yrs ago, for 4 more windows. Prices have increased, but not by that much. We've had no issues, and enjoy the privacy and savings of tinted sun reflective windows. Surprisingly, we can see out as we would with clear windows, but people can't see in as well. JDI started as a commendable company; however, I am disappointed with the outcome of my experience. The quality of the windows is average at best. The installation was subpar, as I continue to notice drafts coming through all of the windows. Seems more of a quality issue than installation at this point. While I could manage these issues, the primary concern is that an incorrect window was installed in one of my rooms, and I have been waiting since March 2024 for this matter to be addressed. Despite my repeated calls for resolution, I often receive excuses rather than solutions. Although the customer service representatives do eventually return my calls, the follow-through on resolving my concerns has been lacking. With nearly a year elapsed and no resolution in sight, I find the lack of status updates particularly frustrating. Considering the significant investment, I made with JDI for the installation of 18 windows, my experience has been regrettable, and I would hesitate to recommend them to others seeking window replacement services. I believe it is unlikely that other companies would leave a customer waiting this long to resolve similar issues. Overall, this experience has been disappointing. Update: In December 2024, I initially submitted this review, and one of the owners, Rex, reached out to address my concerns about the poor service I experienced. He assured me that he would personally oversee the resolution of my issue in a timely manner. Throughout the following weeks, Rex maintained communication as my replacement window was being ordered. One of our last exchanges occurred on February 3, 2025, during which I was informed that my window would arrive that week. However, after that communication, I did not receive any updates. I chose to give JDI the benefit of the doubt and allowed a month to pass without any contact regarding the status of my order. On March 8, 2025, I finally reached out to Rex, but he did not recognize my number nor my situation, despite our previous text conversations. He explained that his phone erases text messages after 30 days, a claim I find hard to believe given that I still have a record of our communications from last year. It appears that Rex deleted our conversation and moved on without resolving my issue. Understandably, this situation left me feeling frustrated. I have been waiting almost a year for the correct window, which should have taken no more than one to two months to order and replace. Had I not reached out, I might still be waiting for a follow-up that I likely would not have received. My issue was ultimately resolved on March 21, 2025, after nearly three months of communication and original date of my review post. While I found the installers to be professional and great people, it is important to note that mistakes occurred from the installer, which he acknowledged and apologized for. There is only so much one can expect from an installer compared to a company customer service rep and/or an owner of this business. I am anticipating a response from the owner regarding this review, as I have noticed a trend of deflecting blame in response to previous negative feedback JDI receives. Nonetheless, I feel it is important to share my experience honestly. Initially, I chose to support a smaller business for my project, but I now believe it may have been more prudent to invest a little more in a larger company that is better equipped to provide timely, high-quality service and properly manage their products. In my experience/opinion, JDI appears to prioritize window installations over comprehensive customer service for issues or replacements, which may not align with the standards offered by their competitors. They will sell you on how they will stand behind their product but in reality, once the install is completed, you're on your own and will have to deal with the manufacture afterwards since as a company they can't handle the full scope of customer service when it comes to the windows they sell. Additionally, I did not receive any follow-up communication from JDI even more than two weeks after my issue was resolved. This lack of follow-up raises concerns regarding their commitment to customer service. This review doesn't even cover the other fact that one of my other windows that was being replaced sat in their warehouse from July 2024 without anyone ever reaching out to me on that status. Got an estimate from another company who quoted me $4k more than JDI did for 3 less windows, which INCLUDES a bay and garden window. While, yes, the other company's dog and pony show was much more impressive, I truly believe it was just that... a show. The reviews don't lie. JDI knows what they're doing, and the care they took to ensure I had a good experience was above and beyond. Wes did my estimate and was just a pleasure to work with in the beginning phase. Rex handled everything from the top, while Todd and his crew did the installation. They were on it. I could get into the quality of the windows and do this-and-that comparisons, but at the end of the day, it's all about getting quality work for quality products at a quality price. I got several quotes, as I was replacing 30+ windows, big windows, normal windows, tons of tiny windows, basically the whole house. I chose JDI as Rex gave me a fair price and explained things to me. It took a while to get the windows made, and some arrived broken (no fault to JDI), so we had to wait for replacements (for the replacements :) ), but once all the windows arrived they were installed in two and half days! A BIG shout out to Darrin and his crew who installed the windows quickly and tidied up as though they'd never been there! JDI replaced a couple of basement windows for us, and we had a great experience. Our basement was already finished, but it had those old, dingy metal-frame windows that nobody likes in the window wells. After JDI replaced the windows, it has made a HUGE difference on the temperature of our basement, and I'm positive we'll have fewer bugs down there. When you work with JDI, they know what they're doing, but they're also very busy for a reason. After you sign your contract, know that stuff is happening, so you don't need to keep checking in. You'll know roughly when your windows will be ready, and you'll be contacted by an installer to set up a time to pop them in. Installation was clean, fast, and exactly as quoted. We wouldn't hesitate to use JDI again, and in fact, we will! read more

Just some clarification on Rex at JDI Windows rant. You will notice my first comments were, Brent did a good job of installing our windows and that I love my windows. We fed Brent and his son lunch both days so to say we didn't appreciate what he did for us is wrong. Rex offered us the fin installation and told us the trim would be replaced. He is correct in saying we complained about the trim finish. It doesn't match the other trim on the house which we were not expecting or told would be the case. Rex argued with me on the phone and wondered why we didn't say anything earlier and that his installer was already on another job. I asked him to come look at it and he said no. The sash was an inside sash and the man that reinstalled the sash said it should never have been installed broken. I spent 21K on my windows and would not expect a new window to be installed broken! The calls he refers to were to both JDI and the manufacture. My expectation was that I would get a job that was completed by them. I did not expect to have to chase down the window on my own. Rex told me it was a warranty issue now and that they don't have enough people in their company to be completing that process. They just install the product. My intent when calling Rex was to share with him my experience. He said he had no idea this was going on thus my communication comment. Rex spent time then going into how busy they are and that they were having problems with this window company sending out windows with broken latches and panes as well as other excuses. He became quite defensive. My intent on compensation was to emphasize that I had done work that should have been done by them. He brought up monetary compensation. He's right, I did use the f-bomb as I was super frustrated with this situation and his argumentative behavior. He apologized after I told him that one would be nice and he apologized like a child might if they were told to say sorry. If they had been attentive and proactive to say this isn't our usual practice and we want you to know are very sorry and we will do our best to get this situation resolved as quickly as we can and we will keep you posted throughout this process, I wouldn't have written this review. If you look back at Rex's other reviews under 4 you will see that he is argumentative and he belittles his customers. I was not going to allow him to get away with that. Took pride in the install and made sure everything was done perfect. The windows have already made a huge difference in the temperature of our house! After getting 4 estimates from 4 different companies, I contracted with JDI Windows to replace all of my windows and a patio door. The experience was wonderful from start to finish. Starting at the initial consultation, Mark was very knowledgeable and listened to what I wanted. He put together an estimate for me. What I liked about the estimate is more than the competitive price, but each window had a line item and was broken down into its cost, labor, and profit. The pricing was very transparent, unlike some other companies that only give you a single price for the entire project. Not only was the estimate very reasonable, I felt very assured that Mark knew window installation very well. I was very excited to work with JDI Windows. About 6-8 weeks later, my windows were ready to be installed. Brent and Garrett worked very efficiently on the windows, and it was obvious that they had done this a lot and knew exactly what they were doing. I felt very comfortable leaving my home in their hands. They hauled away the old windows and used a hand vac to clean up any debris around the windows when they were done. The caulking around the windows was perfect and very professionally done. There was an unfortunate 5-week delay in getting my patio door, but it was installed flawlessly when it came in. Another thing that I liked about JDI is that they don't require any payment until the project is complete. Unlike some other companies that require a down payment before the contract even begins. This shows they are vested in completing the project as soon as possible. I just love my new windows and patio door! I definitely made the right decision in choosing JDI Windows! Extremely happy with JDI Windows. It wasn't the high pressure sales like a lot of window companies. None of the, this is the deal if you sign right now, otherwise the price goes up. Provided clear detail of what they do without the extra "sales techniques" like the heat lamp on the window. Lead time for getting windows installed was quicker than most of the other companies. They won't be the cheapest quote you can get, however best bang for your buck since they do a full replacement and not just an insert. We recently completed our install and it was an amazing experience overall. They were right in line with some of the competitive quotes but we decided we liked to avoid the dog and pony show. We get it windows can vary in pricing, construction, color and materials. The buy now or lose out mentality the other companies present is just another eye rolling experience IMO. I received estimates from five ( yes, FIVE!) different window companies and decided on JDI and we're very glad we did. Mark, our estimator, was very thorough, knowledgeable and fair. There was no flashy sales pitch, just solid information and a fair bid. The installation happened right in the time frame Mark estimated and he didn't ask for half the money down as seemed standard with most all of the other companies. Joe the installer,and his assistant were excellent. They showed up early and were extremely courteous, professional and efficient and treated our property with care and respect. My communications with Lindsey from the office were very pleasant as well. I learned more about windows than I ever cared to during this process and I am confident that the installed windows are not only beautiful with great features, but a great value. Working with JDI has been a bit reminiscent of the good old days when you trusted contractors to say what they'll do and then do what they say.
