She is the ultimate professional. She is knowledgeable and caring and she balances a quiet yet serious demeanor that somehow puts you at ease right away. The entire staff is professional as well as being personable and caring. You have the feeling that you are with family. I met Doctor Blaney, his wife Roslyn, and Irma well over 20 years ago. I had an emergency and I came to them at the suggestion of a co-worker. At the time my finances were not the best and I was concerned about the bill and cost for treatment; not to mention the panic I felt . Not only was my anxiety relaxed but their help in handling my payment worked well within my budget. My only experiences have been with Dr. Blaney for treatment and he is unequivocally most caring and knowledgeable professional I have ever met. He takes the time to really listen to your ailments. Without pressuring you, he gives you the options for the best treatment and he, along with his staff, comes up with the strategy to make your visit painless and memorable. He has a gentle touch and a quiet soothing manner which works very well in this line of work. Recently my wife experienced a dental issue and I suggested Chatham Dental. She was nervous at the thought of having WORK done but became completely relaxed shortly after we got there. This was in part because of the family oriented setting and of course the warm welcome from Irma, Michelle, Doctor Bowden and Doctor Blaney. Together, they managed to put her anxiety to rest and although she has yet to get the WORK done, she confessed to me that her confidence level is restored. It was amazing to have a spa-like experience at the dentist. From the moment I entered the building I felt welcomed and comfortable. I was offered a beverage during my visit and was also able to watch tv before and during my appointment. The office manager, Irma, was extremely pleasant and hospitable. I enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and the ability to relax while in the waiting area. As a first-time visit I found the check-in process to be very streamlined. My wait time to be seen was very short. I was initially visited by Dr. Bowden's dental assistant, Michelle, who continued my welcoming experience by being pleasant and engaging. Michelle and I were able to share a few laughs which continued to put me in a relaxed state before my exam and x-rays began. My next visit came from the dental hygienist, Iris, who presented as professional and caring. Iris was very gentle in performing my cleaning and explained everything before, during, and after the cleaning procedure. My next introduction came from my dentist, Dr. Bowden, who is hands down the best dentist I've ever had perform any dental work! Dr. Bowden has a warm spirit and personality that apparently extends pass him and through his staff. Dr. Bowden, as well as his staff, provided excellent communication from start to finish in regard to my billing, dental history, current work to be performed, and future information for consideration. Dr. Bowden made me feel as comfortable as though we had been friends for years. His belief is that the dentist should not be a painful experience...and I appreciated the fact that it wasn't! The completion of my dental work left me pleased and confident that he is one of the best in the business. The entire staff is thorough and attentive to every minute detail. I was surprised and elated to find a super modern office and a staff friendly and professional beyond belief. The technology there is state of the art. Dr. Blaney is caring and patient. He explains all procedures in detail. My fears quickly melted with this dentist. Last year I was introduced to Dr. Ogbonna Bowden. Dr. Bowden is a very knowledgable and personable dentist. Both traits are important when getting dental work. Office visits with Dr. Bowden put you at ease. He remembers details from your last conversations and most certainly has a complete grasp of ongoing dental work. I have found that this office works around your schedule. With ongoing dental work, when I travel, I have found that they will break up work to be done easily before you leave and what should be done when you return ( with explanations ). I find this office to be caring and compassionate. Even when you stray from what you are supposed to do or not do they fix the problem with a smile and move you forward. No one loves going to the dentist, but this is as close as I can get to enjoying the experience. First, the staff is excellent, professional, friendly, skilled. Second the office is beautiful, and maintained this way forever! Third and not least, they have taken great care of my dental health. They are very thorough, and will do a thorough exam and develop a treatment plan, not just you drop in for a cleaning and goodbye. If you want the cheapest basic dental, get a coupon and go elsewhere. Not everything is covered under my dental insurance (which isn't that great anyway), so I always end up paying a few dollars. But I am more than happy to do so, because I'd rather invest in top-notch, full-service, modern dental care. My father, husband and best friend all go here as well. Like most people, going to the dentist isn't something I look forward to... Until I went to Chatham Dental Gallery. My experience there was so pleasant. I had the honor of meeting Dr. Bowden who was so friendly. He built really good rapport with me before even talking about anything dental related. When I visited Chatham Dental Gallery at 8544 S. Stony Island, they were professional and friendly, I went there because I broke a tooth and I needed it put back.
