Horrible service. They care more about the quantity instead of quality of the customer. I was not rude with this doctor, he was very rude and insulting, they pretend to be professional to get your money, I have ahole in my tooth that the filled a few months prior to the visit. I didn't want to do 2 extractions, and the dentist became irate and irritable, telling me he wasn't going to do any service. Thank god there is a multitude of business in the area and much better offices. My son or myself will not be going back to this office. I was never rude nor was I loud or irate, I only explained what I didn't want as far as services for the day. DONT GO HERE!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, AND MAKE AURE YOU ARE TREATED THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. EVERYONE ISNT GOOD WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. Mind you I was in 4 chairs trying to get X-rays done because their machine didn't work for 45 min of my appt. They didn't apologize, he just rushed in and said it's been 45min already, we have other patients? Mind you I don't work there and I'm waiting on service. I went in because I had a broken tooth it didn't take them long to attend to my emergency. I was really scared of the needle and I screamed the doctor had know idea I had a childhood trauma from needles but when I began to cry he became more gentler with my feelings and did a great job in extracting the broken tooth . I'm greatful and so very thankful that they were able to except me without an appointment. Job well done . read more

please check to make sure that your insurance is not be scammed for proper payment. call your insurance to make sure that they are getting what they are requesting. i was told that bridge work would be $2200 without insurance out of pocket and $1100 with my insurance coverage. two months later that went up to $3540 without insurance and $1770 with insurance with no explanation for the drastic increase. but the office could not and did not provide the proper medical information to my insurance company on two different occasions i was told that i was denied by my insurance company on several occasions by this office. later to find out that i was never denied just delayed due to the fact that stoney island dental did not give them the additional information that they were requesting. two months later i had to go to another dentist office to get the procedure processed in two weeks!!!! the back office insurance staff is incompetent and clearly doesn't understand how to properly process claims. don't go. save yourself some time and frustration. read more

I went to Stony Island Dental on Monday my appointment was for 10:00, when I arrived on time I filled out paperwork and was told to sit: I sat for about 1 hours and 40 minutes. Then I was called to the back and I took a x ray of my mouth then was put into a room and waited 20 minutes or more. I got frustrated and left no one came in to check on me and say anything so I walked out and left. This is bad business Won't go back again. read more

OMG the best dentist ever, first let me say its very clean on the inside, very up to date with innovative technologies each room has a 50in tv in each room where you able to watch tv while you wait, they have a open concept they showed me a picture of my teeth and what they were going to do to ease my anxiety, The dentist was so nice and patient I first had been scheduled to have 2 sessions to complete all the work my dentist completed everything at one time which saved me money. The dentist and his assistant was so patient with me bc I am that person that is scarred of the dentist I even had a panic attack and they both talked me through it. I love this this office I have started telling everyone so my husband husband is leaving his dentist of 25 years to try out Stoney Island dentist. I highly recommend this dental office. read more

Had upper and lower partials made. After several visits to get the upper partial adjusted because of the pain I was enduring. I went back on the 6th of March to have a couple of cavities filled and the upper partial adjusted again because I couldn't eat anything with them. I asked the dentist to remove some of the upper tooth because it was causing me pain when I tried to eat. He misunderstood me and thought I said remove the tooth; which he did. Why would I want the tooth removed which would reveal a missing tooth. After I told the dentist he had made a mistake he informed me he would replace the tooth at a cost of $150.00 which I declined. My advice is make sure you and the dentist are on the same page if you need any adjustments done to your dental work. I'm now forced to wear a new partial with a missing tooth. read more

If I could put zero stars then I would. Went to see the dentist, the man name in the door serviced me in January. I went for normal cleaning, no pain or anything. I seen him again in February because I had pain, he gave me some bs ass fluoride that wasn't going to work and he knew that. Went back again in March because the same pain. Everything he touched has caused me pain. He sees people as dollar signs instead of patients. He offered to REMOVE my tooth because he f'd up. Like wtf! This place isn't here to help with oral care, but to get money from you by any means. I wasn't going to write a review but enough is enough. I first went there July on 2022 for a severe toothache and he told me I needed a root canal and a crown for $2000. I don't have type of money that's why I used my state medical card so they pulled the tooth instantly relieving the pain. I'm not a dentist but I think it could've been saved. I had a cavity in my front tooth, he filled and did a horrible job giving me a gap in my mouth and making my teeth look like chiclets in the front. I should've learned my lesson, but I didn't '. I returned today 8-15-23 because a piece of old filling came out my mouth and he said I need a root canal and crown which will run me $1700 . do this place do fillings anymore? I went to dental dreams and had the tooth filled and I have no more pain. long story short only go here for cosmetic dentistry and make sure you're paying cash because the state insurance won't give you quality work. read more

Let me tell you one thing that you can believe in; this place is awesome! I don't know you so I have no need to lie to you. However, I do believe in learning from someone else's experiences and mistakes. This DENTAL OFFICE is no mistake, it's the real deal! First of all if you've ever had any type of dental experiences in the past then you will surely notice the absolute difference in the services as soon as you set foot inside this office. I dare to say that it is comparable to any downtown or Hyde Park Dental office. It's warm, clean and soothing. The reception intake process is flawless. I particularly like the fact that you can ask almost any question and receive a courteous and educated answer. The reception I spoke to the day I made my walk in appointment was very intuitive and basically deduced that financial cost was a major factor with me and offered to tell me that the office has specials going on because of the grand opening. $45 for the exam and X-rays was the special I walked in on. You cannot beat that pricing if you had a baseball bat, I'm totally serious. Secondly, let me tell you about the modern technology here. Like I've said before if you've had previous experience with dental offices you may have stepped into the places straight out of the last century. Stony Island Dental PC is totally different. You can see the modern technology they use from the automatic rotating X-ray machine all the way down to the dental imaging. The procedure rooms are private and uncluttered and supply you with cable television to entertain you during you short wait. Thirdly, let me tell you about the actual procedure. On this day I was having an upper wisdom tooth removed. The dentist cam in, greeted me and told me what was going to happen during my visit. This is the part I love and wanted to share with you the most. The explanation of the procedure took longer than the abstraction! Imagine a wisdom tooth being removed in less than two minutes! I'm not saying that this is the typical or norm for everyone but this was my true to life experience. Less than two minutes, think about that. Zero pain, I really mean zero. Three little needle prick and I was done! No b.s. and no mess. Just total professionalism. Finally, the outro. The exit assistant that provided the dentist with my care was very professional as well. She explained to me all of the do's and don't of this out patient dental procedure. She was very on point and made sure to warn against all those things that hard headed people do after dental work. I could never ask for anything more from a dentist office. The location is south east side. Easily accessible by public transportation, as a matter of fact, the Stony Island bus stops right in front of the office as well as the 95E bus. If you drive there is plenty of free parking around the office. I'm not getting paid to sing the praises of this office I just want to spread the good news that we finally have an awesome dental establishment in my area that a person like me can depend on. I would like to state today 07/01/2020 I had an appointment with Doc ,"D," he did a filling And a general cleaning. I can truly say he was painless I never felt the needle being inserted. My visit was truly pain free. I wanted to be in a neighborhood and sought a dentist in my home area. The clinic is great. The staff is very courteous and personable. I was made to feel comfortable from day one. Anyone looking for a dentist really should especially if you live in the area, seek out this dental clinic. They are great and Doc,"D", is truly pain free! The clinic does take emergency walk-ins, but do take appointments. read more

Let me start by saying I NEVER leave reviews but this is important! I was driving down Stony on my way to drop my daughter off but in excruciating pain from my wisdom teeth. I randomly saw this office and what caught my attention was the banner about emergencies and open on weekends. I couldn't get an appointment with my dentist because of COVID so I called them immediately!! They told me to come in the next day! I was skeptical because of the location but my emergency was bigger than my pride. The staff were very friendly and took care of me right away. I got an x-ray within minutes and they told me the issue right away!! I had two wisdom teeth pulled and Dr. D and Sonya were very caring and comforting because I was THE biggest baby (I hate the dentist!). I ended up paying out of pocket because I'm HMO but they were EXTREMELY reasonable and they take CareCredit. I was in at 10 and back in my car a 11:10. read more

This is the worst Dental experience I have ever had. I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning. The attending Dentist initially told me that I had beautiful teeth for a 65 year old. He examined my teeth. Without any preparation or discussion of the procedure, he numbed my gums on the right side of my mouth. He left the room and the Hygenist came in shortly for me to sign paperwork on the procedure. I refused to sign and explained, I came in for cleaning. She said I asked for Deep Cleaning. The Dentist came back and I told him, I only wanted a Cleaning not Deep Cleaning. Now he is telling me I have an infection, need a root canal and he will prescribe medication. Then I decided to leave because of the DISHONESTY. As I proceeded to leave, the Dentist blamed me for the administering the anesthesia and told me he had 4 other patients to care for. I refused to have anyone working on my mouth that I had a disagreement with. I left with no referral, no prescription and a numbness on half of my face. read more

The staff was very polite and professional. The ladies that work here are probably afraid that they may loose their job because of the dentist who is over them. This man sits at the front desk with the ladies that make the appointments. My first thought was oh that's nice of him to sit up front to greet his patients. Then after I went into the room were he examines you and came back out to leave I thought that he probably sits there because he doesn't trust the women who works for him. All of the women are hispanic not that I have a problem with that but being in a black neighborhood it would seem that he would have black people working there. That's another issue I have with this place but I mostly have a problem with the way in which this dentist handles his new patients. He was cold and matter of factly. No bed side manner!
