I was the mechanic who helped Mr Lori G over the phone, and it is true, I told him we have thousands of belts in stock, and also told him that we do not stock belts for his brand machine, but we can try to match the one he's got. Mr Lori, we had a busy day, you can imagine how busy we were, and helped a lot of people today and we thought 100 percent were helped and happy about our service, until you come in and ruined it. you think is easy to spend 5 or 10 even 15 minutes looking for something for a customer while we are trying to get other work done? is not. but we stop and helped you looking all over for that belt just to get you going. how sad is for people like you, that do not appreciate, others working for your benefit, you were mean, and and that's why ask you to go some where else, we do not like people who do not appreciate us, and then you leave slammed the door? and also broke the lock, would you like us to go to your house and do the same? thanks for that. i was happy about what the guy yield at you, you deserve it and a lot more. we do not want that attitude here, we been in business for 25 years and know what we are doing. I've been going to Chatham Lawnmower for over 25 years along with many friends and like business owners and your experience is not even remotely reflective of who they are. If it were I doubt they'd be in business this long. You were obviously stressed out with a blizzard warning and a broken belt but perhaps you should have had that belt replaced when it broke rather than wait for a blizzard warning when many people and customers, not just you, have emergency needs (do you really think 10 minutes is a long time to wait in a snow emergency?) Or better yet spend a few extra bucks to have a backup belt in case of sudden and unexpected storms. Nevertheless, the stress of a blizzard coupled with your lack of preparedness is no excuse for being disrespectful. Then you feel slamming doors is acceptable for your lack of patience. Did you think someone would run out and give you hug? I'd yell at you too! Then to top it off you rush on Yelp to trash an established business when you should be busy shoveling. I have been using Chatham Lawnmower Service for many years. They have serviced several mowers, Bob Cat mower, chain saw, leaf blower, trimmer and two weeks ago our snow blower. Got to know the owner Scott over the years and more recently, his son Craig. When I picked up my snow blower, after having it serviced two weeks ago, Craig offer great advice that I consider using premium gas in the blower, as well as other small machines. He made a point to say: "Have any problems or questions, call me." As it turned out, I did have a problem. Called them and a mechanic encouraged me to bring it back and they would do their best not have any down time. Craig happened to be there last Saturday morning and went right to work himself. One thing that really impressed me is that he takes pride in his work and treats every service and/or repair as if it was his own equipment. That is exactly what he did, until my machine was right. Owner Scott as well as Steve, the front desk and the whole team here are the best there is. I've been a lot of different places over the years for power equipment and landscaping machinery, but I don't go anywhere else any more. They are honest and fair to a fault. They are total experts in new equipment, maintenance, repair and teaching about each piece of equipment I've bought from them and serviced with them. They don't talk down to you, either. I've taken numerous lawnmowers, hedge trimmers and snowblowers in for work and they always took care of everything and treated me well. I also bought my generator here and I get a lot of supplies here too. When I purchased a hedge trimmer last year they told me how to save money on the version I was buying from them! I have used CLS since they opened and have never had a complaint. I have bought lawnmowers, had them serviced and repaired, and had numerous questions answered, all very professionally. I will continue to rely on their service and on the high quality of the machines they sell. Most recently at the height of the fast growing season a drive belt failed (after 5 years of use) and they identified the issue, fixed in in 2 days. Greg also provided a subtle but clearly explained tip on how to make the drive belt on my machine last even longer in the future. It's a busy place and that might be the best indication this is a place to go for anything in the lawn care line. They also sell and service chain saws, snowblowers, generators, and other peripheral equipment for those interested. The other day I visited Chatham Mower, under duress.....my home had no electric, was afraid food was going bad etc. and albeit this company was SLAMMED with tons of ongoing work they stopped everything and masterfully and instantly fixed my generator. Chatham is a full service power equipment dealer serving the counties of Morris, Somerset and Union for several decades. They state on their website they consistently do the highest quality service work on a timely and fair basis. ITS TRUE. I have never met such cheerful people EVER! God Bless Chatham Mower! I met the owner (pretty big dude!) and his son and his employees. Was able to watch while they fixed my generator. The atmosphere was amazing. An example: During last year's first and heavy (over 12") snowstorm, I found my snow blower wouldn't work, due to my earlier negligence. Great local place for repairs and new purchases featuring quality products and helpful, friendly service. For example, I purchased a Toro self-propelled lawnmower there and a few years ago. The mower runs well and starts right up every season. I recently lost the gas cap (not sure how) and the owner replaced for me at no charge. Another example occurred last week. I needed to replace a fuel line on an old Snapper snow thrower and replace a couple mounting bolts for the electric starter. The owner quickly found the parts, didn't charge me for the bolts, and even gave me advice on the repair. Service and quality products keep me coming back. read more

There stock of parts is remarkable, rarely do I need to wait for back order. all there people are knowledgeable and courteous. In the past, I tried one of their competitors (remain nameless) and was so disappointed as they charged me for service although the mower was not fixed. Have a Toro lawnmower that is over 10 years old. Was running into a problem where it was very difficult to start, due to an engine issue. Several other Toro dealers had serviced it, and they all wasted my time. However, I brought it to Scott at Chatham Lawnmower, and he quickly identified the issue and the mower never started so easy. A 5-year old could have pulled the string and started the engine, it was so smooth. Next time I need to buy a lawnmower, I am buying it from Scott. They fixed my commercial Deere Z-Trak mower for half the price of the Deere dealership, twice as fast and for half the cost.
