Milk Tea, no bubbles this time
    Yoonie L.

When it comes to Bubble Tea, I'm a plain Jane. I like Milk Tea with a dash of bubbles. That's my faaaave and Chatime is the only place that I have been to in this area that packages the teas properly, the traditional way, where they seal the top with a plastic film with a special machine. - Parking - Located in the food court of the Oglethorpe Mall, it's on the right hand side, when you walk in from the food court entrance. - Vibe - It's very franchise looking. I'm assuming it is one, but owned by a local family. Bright purple is their theme. They've got an efficient system. You order in the middle of the counter, they give you a buzz when it's ready and you pick it up to the left of the counter. They prepare all the drinks to the right and prep hot food in the back. Pretty simple. - TLC - They always have staff eager to take your order and they have been very efficient at each of my visits. - Eats / Refreshments - I've only ever had the Milk Tea with a dash of bubbles, sometimes no bubbles at all and it's consistent every time. They've got their formula down and it's apparent that they've put the proper training in the staff, no matter who makes it. They also offer Fried Chicken, of all things at a Bubble Tea shop, but it is the South and they are in a mall. I'm sure rent is high and they needed to find something else to sell to go along with their drinks. It seems to be made to order so the next time I find myself hungry at the mall, I'll definitely consider Chatime as my one stop shop.

The photo may make you think it was brown sugar pearl in black tea milk cloud. Just wonder~ the real drink does put this much brown sugar?

I was bored in bubble drink culture, and I am semi picky about bubble drinks. I've tried some bubble drinks from local, the bubble drinks are either mixed with artificial juices or stores use cheap, quick cooked tapioca bubbles that you can find from Asian stores in town. Therefore, for long time, I only enjoy bubble tea when I go to Atlanta or Jacksonville, FL in the particular stores. A few weeks ago I was shopping in Kroger Mall Blvd, and saw someone carried bubble drink with store name called- Chatime. I went home and quickly found the place. Two days later, I ordered the brown sugar bubble drink which they are promoting now. When I tried the brown sugar pearl with milk, I was shocked and thinking "why I can't taste the tea flavor?", then it was my mistake that when I saw the picture I thought it was brown sugar bubble with tea and fresh milk, but I didn't think only brown sugar+ bubble+ fresh milk. It was fine, I love milk anyways, it doesn't bother me too much. Tapioca bubbles were cooked nicely. I just wished the tapioca bubbles were coated with brown sugar (in Asian countries, brown sugar/black sugar/red sugar depends on the regions and translations, is considered good sugar for blood circulations and provided iron compares to regular white sugar). Apparently it doesn't have strong brown sugar taste as what I expected. I was little bit disappointed, but again, Chatime doesn't use quick cooked tapioca bubbles, I was glad. Last week, I tried their signature tea with pearl. It was fine. I wished I knew Chatime used coffee creamer instead of milk. Next time when I visit, I will ask whether they can substitute from coffee creamer to fresh milk. I don't find the one I like yet, but I believe Chatime has potential to be the signature bubble tea place where people in Savannah can always go and enjoy their drinks if Chatime would take advise from Yelpers and improve a bit. So Yelpers don't have to drive 200+ miles away from home to enjoy their bubble tea time. However, for now if my mouth is lonely for bubble tea, I will still go to Chatime to try different bubble tea drinks.

I'll be coming back again and again! I am so happy we have a new biz in town devoted purely for boba! Well, they also sell fried chicken. That threw me off, but they seem to be the only food court establishment to do so, for now. I had the Lychee Yoghurt QQ. The QQ means that the drink comes with boba and coconut jelly! That's a win for me. The lychee drink was tasty, my boba was chewy and my taste buds were happy. They have a screen that lists their 10 most popular drinks, and other screens show some of what their drink looks like. That's super helpful if you aren't sure what you want to try next. I know I am coming back because I love boba and I want to try the matcha latte and much much more!

Only downfall is this place is in the Food Court of the Oglethorpe Mall. Otherwise this place is amazing. It's a legit bubble tea place with real tea, sugar options, toppings, etc. they had my personal favorite, oolong milk tea and I got extra boba pearls. The boba was sweetened and cooked perfectly! It was $11 for 2 large teas.

Love coming here for their bubble tea, came here during lunch so it wasn't too busy, reasonable price, and excellent service.

    What I orders

One of there employees where eyeing me down and doing hand gestures there tea was good but I would not recommend the strawberry bubble so 3 stars

Tastes like the other Chatime chain locations. Friendly service. Located in the mall food court.

Can see how grainy their "milk" tea is

Very grainy bubble tea, probably the worst I've ever had :/ Really expected more out of the this place

Too much jellies. Not enough enough delight.

Ordered the milky taro delight. Paid extra for coconut and grass jelly to be added to the drink. They were lazy and just put rainbow jelly in there. Had to go back and they just poured part of my drink out and added grass jelly on top. It wasn't even cut. Had to use the straw to make the jellies smaller to actually drink through the straw. Eh...Less than satisfied. Fried chicken was good though. Hot sauce was good. Maybe next time will be better.

Eat Tea is on the side with Jersey Mike's. There is a small amount of parking on that side. The service is excellent! You can order on one of the iPads if you are in a hurry or in general. But the staff are happy to take your order as well. The menu is vast. There are many types of teas, bubbles, add ins, foams and more. I tend to try a new tea when I go in. You never know what you like until you try something new! I love the fresh fruit teas. Yes, they do use actual fresh fruit. I'm not a fan of very sweet teas. Generally I will get mine half sweet or unsweetened. It depends on the tea. Just ask the staff about the level of sweetness if you want to know. They also have fresh mochi and crepe cakes. I have not tried the mochi. But the crepe cakes I have tried were delicious. There are a few tables inside the restaurant. It is not meant to seat a lot of people. But it definitely can fit a few comfortably. There is a bathroom in the back down the hall. I continue to go back to Eat Tea. They have great teas in a convenient location!

We tried their PHO and PAD THAI dishes --- both excellent --- as were the Shrimp Spring Rolls. The offerings via the menu present a more diverse and broader range of foods --- more South East Asian overall. What we find odd is the ratings attributed to the former Saigon Bistro are attributed to this new restaurant. This is confusing. The good news is we find the offerings here, in our limited experience, to be excellent. Highly recommended.

I find it nice and comforting when it is clear that many other patrons to a small restaurant are obviously regulars. There wouldn't be regulars if a place wasn't good! That said, my meal was mostly kind of meh. I got the Vietnamese crepe, which is more like an omelet, and I think I just ordered something that didn't hit my palate right. My guy was happy with his meal (pho), but I found mine a little bland and wanting. I am sure other things would have been better, I just chose the wrong thing to order. Service was pretty good and I can see this as being a solid, every day lunch spot for folks in the area.
