The walls and ceilings in almost every classroom and hallways are tearing down and the bathrooms are always dirty and written all over. The sinks in the bathroom don't work for long periods of time. The pool is not in service and it needs to be fixed and cleaned. And the staff in the offices never take a students side when they think wrong of something. The counselors do not help out the students whatsoever and just push them away telling them to come back but when they do come back they repeat the same thing. The only good staff member in there as of right now is Ms. Susette and the nurse, Ms. Quitzia but that's about it I love them both with my whole souls because they were the only ones who actually helped me in classes and helped me get through the year in one peice. And they are even trying to get rid of ms quitizia which is stupid to me she did nothing wrong. The security Mrs Stephany is rude and jealous of little girls. Always calling out girls breasts showing in the slightest in front of men security guards. I think this school is just a whole shit show and should be shut down. That one star I'm giving goes to Ms Quitzia and Ms Susette and no one else.

So much favoritism in this school! If you're not friends with the right teacher you get different…read morerules. They say dress code is for everyone but let their favorite students slide while others get called out daily. Some of the staff are VERY rude to students and their parents. Certain students get privileges that others don't by being "favorites" of certain admin. I've been in this school for 3 years and it has been this way since. The school itself isn't bad but the staff need attitude adjustments they expect respect but give nothing in return. One teacher in particular told me I was going to fail a class based on my appearance and told my sibling the same thing. This teacher is a PE teacher and prefers athletic students over athletically challenged students. He talked about me to a friend behind my back multiple times. Some of these teachers say and do whatever they want because they won't get in trouble or students are afraid to speak up because they will get treated differently in that period. This school needs some fixing although I do agree that academically it is a very good school but it is not a place where you can feel safe to be yourself.

I imagined rebellious students and unimaginative educators. I was totally wrong. My year at Vail High School taught me to look outside myself and see the people and world around me from a different prospective. Our dynamic English teacher, Miss Adele Levy, was a force of nature. She taught me about the power of speech and how important it was to value the life experiences of others. Miss Levy brought holocaust survivors to our class to speak to us about what they experienced in the concentration camps and provided us with books and films that focused on relationships between people from different backgrounds. Miss Levy taught us diversity and how important it was to value each other. When I think back to Vail High School, I remember that it is possible to overcome obstacles. I still remember my teacher Ms. Keller, she was super nice to everyone and she even went to my birthday party. By the way, this was a Christian private school, but there was something to it that made it different, and special to other private schools. It had this comforting vibe to it, as if you were home, especially in the bathrooms. I still even remember the names of my friends in this school which is very hard for me, even in my 3rd grade school. If I could go back in time and made it so that this school could be open even to this day, I would. I might not be religious anymore, but I cherish everything I was taught here from the bottom of my heart.
