Absolutely recommend this tailor. They completely bailed me out with last-minute alterations on a dress for a wedding. My other alterations fell through and they were able to rush alter the dress for me. The dress hadn't fit quite right when I came in and, even though I had only intended to get it shortened, they were able to make some small alterations to other parts of the dress to make it fit perfectly. I don't know what a Chay is, but Chays are no longer allowed where I work. They've instituted a Chay Ban. Maybe there's also a Chay Ban at this place too. I've had mixed experiences of this place but I have to say I think some of the reviews might be fake. I'm not completely sure. You can have a look for yourself. Customer service can be mixed and turnaround time can be really on the unacceptable side of things. It's hit or miss. I don't use these services often otherwise I'd have more to say. They were fairly professional last time I was here, picking something up for my Landlord. My caveat is that it was last winter, not this winter. I came here about 5 times in 6 months but then took forever to write the review. My bad. read more

My wife promised me she would fix my pants for work at GM. When the time came to do the wo no I can not do it do not know how at 6pm the night before my new job at 4pm the next day. She knows I have to see the doctor at 1030 that morning so I can work at 4pm at GM. I spoke to him about my problem at noon the pants would be ready at 230 pm so that I can go to work and look professional. I just met him this morning and he was willing to do this for me. My second time at Chayban, and this was an unpleasant encounter. I'd dropped off a navy blue peacoat for cleaning and to have two buttons sewn back on. The lady who took my order was nice, but not very talkative. I have a cat, and the main concern with cleaning was white cat hair on the dark coat. On pickup day I returned, and the buttons were sewn on. The coat itself was covered in hair and the cuffs and pocket edges still pilled. I was disappointed, since I'd been to Chayban before and they'd done a good job in the past. The older man at the counter started to argue. First he claimed the coat had been cleaned, then he said that it's impossible to remove pet hair. Finally, he started using a lint roller in an attempt to remove the hair. I decided to pay for the work done, and the man quoted me $10 for the button sewing. He offered to send the coat back to the cleaners, but I declined as I had lost faith at this point. He also tried to shift the blame to the cleaners, complaining that "now I have to pay for it." I didn't even argue this point, since obviously that's an issue between the shop and the cleaner they contract with. I paid the agreed upon $10, took the coat, and started to leave. The man said to me "if this is how you plan to get rich good luck!" I won't be back, and can no longer recommend Chayban. read more

The owner was very personable, professional and accommodating to the 10-day window I had to get the dress tailored. He offered me 10% off since other members of the bridal party also took their dresses there. They accommodated me no problem! They rushed my order and had the dress shorted and shoulders fixed in about 24hrs. This place is AMAZING. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. I had sleeves added to a dress for an event at a different tailoring shop. I picked the dress up the night before and the sleeves looked HORRIBLE. It ruined the dress and being the night before I was in such a panic that I would have to find a new dress. It was 3:30 on a Friday and I went to Chayban and he fixed the sleeves and made the dress look PERFECT. When I put it on it was like I was putting on a completely different dress. I have no idea how this place received good ratings. Maybe its been my experience, but I had taken a dress in to get the zipper taken out and new one to be put in, because the zipper was very cheap. I gave him 3 weeks! I come back to pick it up, and all he did was use a tool to put the zipper back together, didn't even replace it like I said. So I had to go back again, and say it broke again.. he wanted me to pay again! When he didn't even do the job I told him to do in the first place! So he tells me since he is so busy with prom, he wont have it done for another 2 months! Seriously? Just to put a new zipper in.. they didn't treat me very well at all. Chayban Tailors made my wedding day so much better! I decided I needed to get my wedding dress taken out a little bit so I could breathe comfortably at my wedding on Saturday... but I happened to decide this 48 hours before the actual wedding. On the Thursday before the wedding, I called to ask if it was possible to get it back by Friday morning and the guy (the owner, I think) agreed that it was crazy, but asked me if I could bring it in right away. Brought it in, tried it on there, and he offered a suggestion for how much to take it out. He was very, very knowledgeable and even showed me how the previous tailor had taken in a LOT in the waist (even though I asked her not to.) I was able to pick it up the following day, just in time for the wedding and the fit was so much better. The price was very reasonable too, considering the rush order.
