Found this gem by chance and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and full of flavor! The rice and beans were perfectly seasoned, the chicken was tender and smoky, and the steak was juicy and cooked just right. The macaroni salad and tostones were the perfect sides. Every time I go to this place it keeps getting worse and worse. Employees have a bad attitude , the food is either a hit or miss but it's been a miss lately. Went today as I've always wanted to try them and have heard good reviews. Me and my husband both ordered the Puerto Rican plate, mine with sweet plantains and his with crispy plantains. The rice and beans were seasoned perfectly, the chicken also seasoned perfectly and juicy. He got his with pork and I'm not a pork eater but that was delicious! Seasonings were on point and juicy! Chaz (the owner) stopped by and spoke to us, which I do appreciate when the owners do this! He was quite friendly and welcoming. Overall, enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Service is great. The owner is at the register and such an energetic genuine personality. Sangria is the best I have ever had. Even if you think you don't want it.. TRY IT! Lived in Pooler a while and finally tried this place. I had high hopes, possibly too high. If I could describe it in two words, it would be "garlic and grease". Had the Cuban. Good but not worth 16.00 and it was so greasy. Wife have the Puerto Rican plate. The pork is pretty good, rice and beans were just mush. As others have stated here, this place is a five star experience. it's a bit of a hole in the wall type place with a cramped terrier, all of which adds to the ambience of getting great food at a reasonable price. This place was busy with visitors during our visit. We were able to get a table but, customers piled in and out to pick up takeout orders. I've switched to a vegan diet and as a consequence, tried their veggie platter. It's not a five star experience, but this doesn't affect the overall rating for their core competencies, which are the other entrées you'll know in the photo set up below. Go and enjoy. Probably like others recently, I found this by watching DDD on the Food Network. I work down this way quite a bit. So I finally got to stop in. My coworker has been eating here since he was selling out of his car! The hype was not overdone. It was some amazing Latin food! I went late, so there was plenty of parking and no line. Food came out fast and hot! I got the Sloppy Jose and Mofongo burger. Both were amazing! The burger was cooked perfect and was very large with that mofongo patty on there too! The food made me sick, got a mofongo with pork, and tostones. Only ended up eating the tostones. I've been told to steer clear of this place, I should've listened. I enjoyed the SLOPPY JOSE as feature on triple-D. It was all that and a bag of chips...or crispy plantains as the case may be. The BBQ sauce had sweetness, sour and vinegar base. Mmmm. Slow cooked brisket with a scratchade mango BBQ sauce super sloppy and super scrumptious! I enjoyed with a side of crispy plantains, a type of french fries, but more crispy. My daughter order the loaded nachos which were through the roof! Came with beef brisket and topped with all kinds of goodness! My wife enjoyed the beef empanadas. I've never experienced a restaurant where you genuinely feel like you've known the owner for years. Chazito is charismatic, down to earth and his life story is inspiring. He's either cooking in the back, wiping down tables or serving the food himself. If you want to spend your money at an establishment that deserves it, it's this place. This place is so delicious and unique! I could not wait for my mom to come and try this place with me! Being Puerto Rican and trying a place with a lot of Puerto Rican dishes made me excited! I wanted to try everything! The Mofongo was delicious and the shredded pork (pernil) was seasoned to perfection! The empanadas were filled well and delicious! The sweet plantains tasted delicious as well! The outside seating is nice with a lot of tables and an area to play cornhole. Purely based off of my Uber Eats delivery. Placed the order pretty late at night and really didn't expect much. The pictures were pretty good so I was hoping for some magic. And magic it was. Be aware that the portions are a lot bigger than you would expect. So for example, if you're going to get the mofongo meal, perhaps stay away from the extra meat on the side because that's not going to go well for you. Highly recommend an empanada on the side as well. Portions are great, according to the driver, the service is quick and friendly for the pickup and they were always courteous to the drivers apparently, that's good enough for me. read more

But then we start looking at movies, which theater, which showing, etc. And we realize barbecue is going to take us in the opposite direction of the movie we want to see. So we Yelp places to eat and discover Chazito's. It looks super savory and, as a Latino family we enjoy finding someplace to enjoy our favorite flavors. It's a good drive, we're all hungry and we don't know what to expect. We roll in and the small building is flanked by food trucks, outdoor seating and a young latino with a mullet crooning while picking at an electric guitar. Walking in, we are greeted by the cramped glory of Hispanic classics and modern twists framed with clever names. My wife got the Sloppy Jose. My boys the Puerto Rican platter. I was going to get the Casa Abuela it ended up with pincho cerdo. The flavors were as good as my grandmothers holiday meals. The portions were just right. The ambiance was fun and feisty. It might have been one of the owners, maybe a cook or even just a bus boy, but someone of the restaurant came through, made conversation and connection with us guests. He even posed for pictures. My family played Uno while we waited for our fresh food to come to our table. We were offered dominos as an alternative if we got bored. No chance of that as our food was delivered just into our second hand. I wanted dessert so bad! But there wasn't any chance of getting it in me after my amazing meal. Small, "hole in the wall", but a good atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly. Beef in taco was slightly dry and could have used a little more flavor. Empanada was cooked well, know that meat is more like a ball than loose meat. Mofongo was light and crispy.
