We had our wedding in August of 2025, and the videography Charlie and his team provided was way beyond my expectations. We were a last-minute booking for him and his team. Charlie was able to find a person to cover our wedding just a couple days before the wedding date. He has excellent examples of different styles of videography they could provide and what that pricing would look like. Charlie's website is perfectly user-friendly and was precise in their package descriptions and pricing. We personally did not want cinematic style videography that would require a lot of editing on their end. We wanted raw footage that we could keep for generations to show to our future children and grandchildren. The videographer did a phenomenal job at recording the ceremony and some of the reception in an authentic way that encapsulated the feeling of one of the greatest days of our lives. The videographer that covered our wedding, Stephen Daniels, had an exceptional understanding of Charlie's expectations on customer service. Charlie was constantly responsive before the big day and clear about when we should expect the files after the wedding. When he offered additional services in the emails, he presented it in a way that demonstrated his genuine care for weddings and events and not just an "upsell." I could see Charlie's customer service extend to Stephen. Stephen and Charlie knew we went with the most affordable package. Even so, Stephen set up a higher quality microphone and brought two cameras for backup. Charlie's website explains other services he could provide such as DJ-ing. Luckily, my husband is a DJ, but we did have quite a few live singers at our reception. Although we could not afford the microphone package for sound on the live singers, Stephen took the time out of recording to help one of the live singers with their sound quality on their devices. Our wedding was genuinely a DIY wedding ran by the power of Hashem and our community. When Stephen walked into the ceremony space, the most prominent visual part of our wedding, the Chuppah, a canopy in which many Jewish ceremonies take place was not set up. Stephen took time to help our friends and staff with the chuppah. Charlie and Stephen were not required to go beyond expectations, but they did that and then some. Although Charlie markets his work as "cheap videography," he certainly does not cheap out on the quality of their customer service and work. Beautiful videos we will cherish forever! We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Charlie to do our wedding video! We had already invested a small fortune on our wedding and were looking for a reasonably priced videographer. Our Trailer video (4 min with our selected song), Ceremony and Reception videos were amazing! The best part was we also received all the unedited raw footage from all the cameras throughout the ceremony and reception. I would highly recommend adding on extra mounted cameras for the continuous raw footage. From the beginning he clearly went through everything with us and asked us questions to ensure we captured what we wanted for our day. His responses were very prompt and accommodating. I didn't realize until after the wedding how happy we were that we chose to do video to capture our special day we spent a small fortune on. We couldn't stop watching the videos. The only thing we didn't like was on the end of the videos was the advertisement. Initially we were only planning to get video for our ceremony, but are very happy that we got video for the entire event! From the very first video samples we noticed Roma's attention to detail (we designed and produced our own wedding, so we would know all the details ), and high quality throughout the video capture. After the wedding we received our first video samples, and we were like "Wow! He got that on video, that looks great! We wouldn't even think about that!". Roman showed us our wedding from the point of view of other guests, and we re-lived our wedding from his point of view many times. In addition to all the standard wedding events such as ceremony, bouquet toss, cake cutting, toasts, etc we got to see many things that we would've never been able to see, because as bride and groom you only have so much time during the wedding. These guys are the best! I wanted to make a nice anniversary video as a gift for one of my family members. This is the only video production company that replied to me and was willing to work with me. I sent them all the video footage via google drive and they sent me the edited version two days later. In March 2015, we had our wedding at Founders Chapel at University of San Diego and the reception at Paradise Point. After a year of planning every detail of the wedding and reception, we were on the fence of whether or not to hire a videographer because we did not have the budget for this service. We actually Googled "Cheap Wedding Videographer San Diego" and Charlie was the result. We decided to give him a chance and it was one of the best decisions that we made. We reserved Charlie a month in advance and the process was seamless. We never met Charlie prior to the wedding but he was easily accessible via email and always responded to our inquiries within a few hours. I would imagine that he would be willing to meet if you felt it was necessary. The one thing that we most appreciated was that in the sign up process, Charlie asked if he or the photographer were to be the primary vendor. We told him that the photographer was the primary. Knowing this, Charlie did an amazing job of capturing all the moments without interfering with the photographer. Our wedding was a Catholic ceremony and Charlie filmed the entire service. It is important to note that Charlie never recorded a Catholic wedding. When he was editing our video he contacted me to let me know that he was not familiar with the service and he was not sure what the most important parts were to be captured in our ceremony video. To make sure that he provided us with what we wanted, he provided multiple options and in the end, we decided to change our initial request and opt for a four minute video summary of the entire service and reception to a song of our choice. It was very well done and all friends and family that viewed the video said "we really hired people that knew what they were doing." Laura and I have watched it many times and it has been a tremendous reminder of our special day. I see that Charlie only has a few recommendations. Do not be fooled or concerned by this. He is trying to build his business and that is a bonus for you because he is trying to prove himself and he will deliver. At first the name of the business caught my attention "Cheap", lol..definitely I was looking for someone who would be affordable and competitive, while not losing quality. I checked out a few companies, looked at their websites and videos and of course, read the reviews. I felt like I had to talk to a few. Though my wedding coordinator and photographer had not heard of him, I still felt that couldn't sway me. After seeing videos and reading reviews, I sent a contact message to Charlie. Here's where Charlie really caught my attention and in a short time, won me over. I had questions, quite a few and in each email I exchanged with Charlie, he was quick to respond, always very professional and polite and made me feel comfortable asking as much as I needed before my choice. I put a lot of info into my messages (clearly) and he pulled out everything I was asking about and in detail, responded. He would also ask me questions that would help him understand what my vision was and give me an idea of what having extra cameras or another person would mean. Once I decided and mailed my contract and deposit, and ongoing payments, he'd confirm he received them and would give me any updated contract info. As a bride on a budget I initially never intended to have videography at our wedding in order to keep our costs down. Then, one day when discussing wedding planning, a friend of mine explained to me that one of her biggest regrets of her wedding was not getting any of it on video, especially the moments that her and her groom never actually got to see that day. From the first time I contacted Charlie (the owner), he has always been super friendly and professional with quick email responses. When you are ready to book he has you fill out a short, but thorough intake survey of basically your wants/expectations of your videographer, which I thought was a great idea to make sure that we were all the the same page for the big day. It wasn't until the day of my wedding, after my ceremony was done, that I first met our videographer, Alex. During the ceremony I noticed that 2 cameras were in place and that we were also being filmed by Alex. Alex had a total of 3 video cameras that he was managing effortlessly, all by himself. After the ceremony was over, Alex, like a true professional stayed right on que and continued capturing footage as when took our bridal party and family portrait photos. Although we knew that Alex was there, because we could obviously see him, he was very unobtrusive and stayed out of the way of our photographer (which is what we wanted) while still managing to capture everything with his video cameras. We hardly noticed him filming during our reception as well, exactly as we wanted. After the wedding, we received the USB with our raw video footage within a fews days. While we were sitting down watching all of the video footage, it was awesome to really be able to relive the day and see moments that we didn't actually get to see on our wedding day. We are so glad that we decided to hire a videographer after all! For the price and the quality we were very pleased with the video footage we got. Infact, we thought that the raw footage that Alex captured was so great that we decided to go ahead and pay for the edited video trailer of both of ceremony and reception. I am very happy to recommend Charlie Walkrich and Cheap Wedding Videography. Charlie video recorded our wedding. I give him five stars, because for the low price, you cannot get this great quality of work anywhere. Yes, you can spend $4,000 and get something finer. But most of us just don't have that kind of money. I must say that we made it quite a challenge for Charlie and his assistant to record our wedding ceremony. We had an unorthodox set-up, with our family sitting in a semi-circle around us, and we were casually moving about in unpredictable ways, to keep the feeling relaxed. I insisted that none of Charlie's four cameras be viewable from the point of view of our still photographer, limiting the angles from which he could record. This was a challenge for sure. But the end result was really pleasing, well lit, and it truly captured the warmth and comfort of our ceremony. Charlie is a superb editor, and was able to keep the sound consistent and seamless, even though it was coming from different cameras at different times. Even in our low-light environment, without using any extra spot-lighting, the images are clear and colorful. Charlie believes in clear communication in delivering his services. Phone calls and emails are returned quickly. He discusses exactly what you are expecting and what he will be delivering. He is consistently polite and attentive. He is also very forgiving with clients (like myself) who can be fussy, indecisive, and a bit anxious. Once all the recording is done, Charlie was quick to deliver a finished product - a fully edited video of our ceremony. I was surprised to have the video available within a week of the ceremony. I want to be realistic here - if you have $4,000 to budget a wedding video, that would be a better choice, because more expensive cameras would be used, capturing greater detail and a more polished final product.
