I really wanted to like the Cheba hut, however after an interaction with one of the bartenders I will not be returning. This place has OK food options, though it is fairly expensive for what you get. Also, I think one of the bartenders needs to be retrained because he chose not to serve me after telling me it was fine if I didn't tip. While I understand it's the bartenders choice, maybe don't be rude to your paying customers when 99.9 percent of the time they do tip. Do better Cheba hut. Also, the whole weed theme feels very gimmicky and lame. Though, shout out to Dylan, the only cool person that works there. read more

First one i ever been to and it was awesome it's a dope little bar with great subs. Service was bar top so can't complain. Such a solid spot especially late night. Had the white widow I think which is the chicken bacon ranch. Searved kinda open face with a pickle. Man if they had fries i'd be a SUPER fan. Such good late night sandwhiches. We were looking for a late day lunch in the Ham, and Cheba Hut has been on my radar for awhile. So we headed down on a snowy Friday and shared a 12" Thai style sub and a couple of cold beers. The sub was great, though it had more of a teriyaki vibe than any Thai notes. Still, it was loaded with chicken and veggies, and the two of us couldn't even finish it. Glad we shared! When we noticed they had Georgetown Brewing beers on tap, we grabbed a Manny's and a Bodhi and didn't look back. While Cheba Hut is a fast-growing chain restaurant, they've done a great job of looking very local with their vibe and decor. They definitely fit right in at this Old Town Bham location. Hey, i just wanted to clarify based upon owners response, which i appreciate. For the price, the food was a good value. Although priced at or above those national chains, i was able to get two meals per sandwich. As for wait times, that was my issues with online ordering, not the staff. it's hard to know when to submit the order when you are driving up from whidby island. Once i let the staff know i was there, they were pretty quick to complete my order. i'm surprised the place wasn't packed. It's a totally cool neighborhood space (third space right?), i would hang out if i lived nearby. but i would chat with them about the sound levels, there is a reason old guys like me have hearing loss. read more

So happy to see Cheba in Washington! Coming from Colorado, it was nice to have a taste of home. The sandwich had toasted bread, as promised, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Since we got the kali club, I'm glad it actually had a bit of a kick! I love how extensive their menu is, it's always hard to choose what sandwich to get! It was a bit busy since we came on a Friday afternoon around lunch time. We got our food 10-15 minutes after ordering. This location had plenty of seating. Super taster here: Food: Ordered the kali mist with garlic bread, I already had dinner and saved it for a late night snack. 6 hours later it was the best sandwich I had. The right amount of texture, meat, sauce, and spice. Highly recommend. 9.5/10 Service: The cashier was very helpful when I asked what the top 3 sandwiches were. The guy making the sandwich was also very nice and attentive. 10/10 Environment: the inside has alot of weed/joint drawings. It's a very young causal vibe with a little bar on the side and another section to just order food. 8/10 just because it's not very kid family vibe, it's more a college vibe. Overall: the best sandwich I have had in my life that I am actually curious how much better it would have been if I ate it fresh instead of waiting 6 hrs. Oh man do I hate to have to write this. I'm a legit loyal fan of this place. The recipes are off the chain. The location is a design dream every time I'm in there the bartender is super awesome, but they lack consistency. If I'm in front of their face, the food is great if I order it to my house I don't get my full order (missing chips, missing ingredients) or I get lied to by the people I talk to to let them know. I was told by "the manager that I would be getting a refund for chips that were not given to me in my order and never received it". I called back and was told it was never processed. I have ordered delivery to my house at least seven times and half of those times they forget banana peppers or give me three pieces of wilted lettuce. If I'm paying $26. (Cause I tip) for a tiny sandwich Kool-Aid and chips I expect my sandwich to at least have more than two pieces of wilted lettuce. someone please tell your employees that if they don't like their job, they can go somewhere else because I'm starting to not want to spend money here any longer. read more

So, here is the goods on this place. First, the first thing is you come and the place is incredibly welcoming, fun, and good music. The people are so friendly and we talked to the bartender a bit and they were lovely! Now, the food... I am not usually a sandwich person, and I have to make sure I have hot sandwiches due to being immunocompromised, and this place provides that. Even more important, my sandwich is delicious! This restaurant is fairly new and is located where the old Rocket Donuts once was. They offer toasted premium subs. For me, the quality of the subs do not seem to justify the high prices. I like Potbelly's better. Cheba Hut's subs taste rather bland and overly cheesy. Parking, even metered spots, are hard to find near this restaurant. read more

It has been only open a short time and all the employees are still learning the flow of things. It's been a few weeks since I was there. I think I got the white widow. Honestly, I wasn't a fan. The texture of the chicken was unusual and the flavor wasn't anything I was excited about. On the other hand my wife said her sandwich tasted really good. She got the POWER PLANT which has guacamole, hummus, feta, spring mix, tomato, onion, pickle, cucumber, shrooms, black olive, green bell pepper, Shake & House dressing. This might be the kind of place that you only dream of. I drove from Everett to check this place out with a friend and it was worth the drive. The garlic bread has the perfect crunch to soft ratio. The meats were delicious. But the magic really happens with the vinaigrette and cheese sprinkles also if I could buy a gallon of the pickles I would have. Then just when you think it can't get better the staff shows up and are just the kindest, most friendly people I've ever met. If you're thinking about going.. GO! I will make the drive again. Went to Cheba today for the first time. My wife and I had heard about how good their sandwiches were and looked over the menu and decided to give them a try. Guess they were slammed with phone and online orders because we waited 32 minutes for our order. The place wasn't crowded at all. When we finally got our order our sandwiches were toasted but cold...mine had two pale orange colored small slices of what I think were supposed to be tomatoes and the bread was hard. My wife's sandwich was again cold and the bread hard from being toasted and left to sit I guess? Anyway, we ate most of our sandwiches and went about our day. Not sure I would go back as I've had better sandwiches else where around Bellingham, Blaine and Burlington. Heard about a new sandwich shop in the old Rocket Donut shop & thought we'd give it a try. When I first walked in, I still had residual Rocket Donut scenes in my mind. It's quite open with plenty of seating, table & bar type seating. The music was a little loud, but they turned it down as customers came in. The sandwich shop also services alcoholic drinks. I had the Apollo 13 on toasted garlic bread & my friend had the Power Plant on toasted wheat. The sandwiches were very tasty & everything was fresh.
