Let's start off with the workers, HORRIBLE attitude from all the workers. $4 for a SMALL milkshake???? Now, they gave me the wrong burger and I said that it wasn't right, the worker looked at me and said it was right, keep in mind she touched my bag when I gave it back and she gave it right back not even looking in it. Havent had a burger from here for years. Last grabbed one at Rally's in the West Coast, and decided to get one today and it did not disappoint. Got the fried mushroom Buford combo and the burger was juicy and full of flavor. Forgot how big the Buford was but worth it. The small fries were just the right size and also flavorful due to their seasoning. The only thing was the area; there were cones around which took me a minute to figure out how to enter (i think they were blocking old drive thru lanes?). But overall, staff was nice. read more

The service was kind of slow and the drive through seems a little complex. This is only my 3rd time ever eating checkers and it's one of those places that you go to for a late night / drunken meal. I was craving a chicken sandwich on a Sunday , Chic-fil-a would have been my first choice but it was closed ! So I settled for the closest place that might have a decent chicken sandwich. It was ok, I wouldn't run back anytime for another. Not the most flavorful meal just convenient. The star of my whole meal was of course the fries ! I'm not the biggest fan of French fries but checkers are a must try ! They're nicely seasoned ! read more

Both drive thru lanes were open so there was no wait and when it was time to order the guy working was super friendly, didn't rush me at all. Repeated the order back before I went to pay too. The food was super fresh and I was glad to see the employees wearing gloves and masks. read more

i might as well have just paid $6 for bread. I ordered the 2 for $6 Cheesesteaks and got almost no meat on some bread with little cheese. Standard fast food drive thru, your food is ready the moment you order it. My order was $7.33 for 2 spicy chicken sandwiches and large fries. I like how they allow you to modify your order without charging you extra. The spicy chicken sandwiches are okay, not really spicy, I think McDonald's makes better chicken. The fries are pretty good though, a lot better than other fast food joints. They're as good as curly fries from Arby's. If I had to eat here again, I'd only get the fries but since I'm not a fast food junkie, probably won't ever be back. read more

The Linden outpost of this drive-thru fast food chain, located next to the Linden Airport on US Route 1 & 9, delivers inexpensive, flavorful, and freshly-prepared food including milkshakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, and multiple varieties of fried chicken (including sandwiches, boneless wings, and bone-in wings). The food won't win any major culinary awards and the ambiance is definitely casual, but if you're craving a casual meal with a tasty burger topped with fresh ingredients served quickly with plenty of change leftover from a $10 bill, Checkers is the place to go. My 'go to' meal is a Checkerburger, a well-seasoned beef patty topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles and red onion, mayo, ketchup, and mustard on a sesame seed bun, paired with an order of Checkers' trademark seasoned french fries, and a fountain soda. Manager needs to be trained on how to treat his employees. To curse at them in front of customers is extremely uncalled for. My husband was so close to coming out of the car and going off on him but I stopped him. The employees are very nice but you can tell he makes them so nervous because they literally forget to give you sauces and part of your order. They are rushed. Rally's has long been my favorite fast food burger place, so finding this Checkers fills a craving. This location is just before Aviation Plaza, right next to the Linden airport. To my dismay, the Spicy Chicken Double is no longer offered in their 2 for ($5 or $6 promos), so I went with the Big Chicken Sandwich. It's essentially the same, but without the spiciness. I don't know if it's just me, but the burgers and chicken sandwiches are way smaller than the ones at other branches. They still taste the same, but the size is definitely different. Rally's fries are still good--seasoned and fried until dark brown. It gets uncomfortably warm inside the ordering area, so open a door or wait outside. As with any murder burger facility, prices for burgers, fries, and combos are super low. Like get full and depressed for under $5 low. Checkers is quite sinful and that's why it's so darn good. It's the place you go to when you don't give a damn about calorie counting that day. My go to junk food here are the french fries, whether it's the regular seasoned fries or fully loaded with chilly and melted cheese. Can't really say much about the rest of their items because the fries are the only things I buy from this place. The staff are nice and courteous. As far as fast food goes checkets is pretty good. They have lots of flavor and their fries are addictive. You can order shakes and chili cheese dogs too. The burgers are big and juicy. They wont have" healthier " (if that's what i can call it) choices that Wendys does, No salads, but if you want fast and tasty you won't go wrong. It's all about the FRIES! They have the best fries in the game, no doubt! The chicken and burgers are good and the hot dogs are basic but they're alright too. They came out with multiple new beef items but I was hoping for a Big Spicy Chicken Deluxe or something like that also. On another note, BEWARE of the CASHIERS! Add up the total yourself because they will charge you a dollar or so more after tax to pocket for themselves. Terrible service. They claim to be a franchise but they certainly don't act like a legit one. I was rejected twice by them when checkers offered deals with coupons on different days. Its almost as if they just didnt want to deal with me simply because I had a coupon. That is no excuse to turn away a customer. The worst part is that I actually heard from other people that their coupons were accepted which tells me that the workers here are just lazy. Totally unacceptable. read more

This location could use a visit from the Undercover Boss show. Service is awful and staff members look miserable. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because of the banana milkshake option. Other than that epic fail. My order was simple and I had questions that I thought were basic but the young lady at the drive thru thought otherwise. Q: I don't see a price for the chicken fingers, how much are they? A: As many as you want for a dollar. Q: Do you have sauce for the chicken? You didn't ask me what kind I wanted? A: I mean like what. Really? What type of responses are these? The girl had a total attitude and obviously was not built to be in the customer service field. Not to mention her hair which was flowing in the wind without a hairnet. When I got to the window to pay she just looked at me through the window and didn't open it until the food was ready...which might I add was roughly 15mins. Most of the employees here are quite friendly if you treat them like people and not the garbage between you and your food like a lot of people do. Most people don't understand that it's hard to hear through the drive through speakers, and get frustrated. (I overhear people talking from the drive thru speaker when i go there.) Their fries are awesome. This place doesn't do "health food" but if you want some delicious burgers and fries without caring about calories, definitely hit this place up.
