My veal Parmesan was AMAZING! It's something about old school pizza parlors you gotta love! I came here on whim since i was in the mood for a hot sandwich and since this place is convenient- I figured I would stop here for a bite to eat. This restaurant is very small, maybe only about 3-4 tables. Upon walking in, the person at the counter was very nice and courteous. He took my order right away. Although there were customers in front of me, I maybe waited about 10-15 minutes for my order which isn't bad at all. My sandwich was amazing and cooked to my satisfaction. Although it isn't very big, I was full once I finished. The only issue is the parking lot is pretty small and narrow. I would probably advise to park on the street. Otherwise, I was pretty satisfied with my visit and would recommend this place! read more

I really like the food here, you generally get a tasty meal at a decent price, but the staff doesn't wear masks or gloves, there's no barriers set up on the counter, and the last time I went in, someone was sitting down and eating inside the restaurant. This is a local sandwich shop that's been in the Raleigh area for quite some time. From my brief conversation on the phone with the guy who answer the phone I believe he said they have been around for 28 years. So I guess they must be doing something right. This is one of those "have it all" places where you can get anything from sandwiches, pizza, salad's, wraps, pasta dishes and even fat sandwiches. The menu seems to be very well priced compared to other restaurants in the area. I was really craving a sandwich so I ended up ordering a ham salami and pepperoni sandwich with provolone cheese and order of cheese fries. Yes this was my cheat meal for the week. I ordered for delivery and the turnaround time was pretty quick the food was delivered within 40 minutes of me ordering considering it was also dinner time. The large sandwich was actually pretty decent size and I like my sandwiches with a perfect amount of meat. I don't like my sandwiches to be overflowing with ingredients so the sandwich here was actually pretty good. The bread was a little dry and chewy but it was actually very soft. The cheese fries were actually my favorite, probably the better ones I've had recently. I got cheese fries with mozzarella cheese and they made sure that the cheese not only cover the top of the fries but they were able to mix the cheese in. My order even came with plates utensils and all sorts of condiments if I needed them. If you're craving a sandwich or cheese fries I would give this place a try. I've actually had sandwiches from pizza places which fall apart and the bread is very dry. So compared to my other experiences from ordering sandwiches from a place that also makes other items this was pretty good. read more

Not what I remembered of how they used to be. skimpy on the meat of the italian sub. They' are much better with their hot subs.

Order 2 subs both was made with stale bread. First time I ordered online when they merged with chicken delight and the sandwiches are bad.

Still always order the hot house from here and the wings. My favorite forever sub shop. New owners are very friendly and welcoming

I hadn't read any of the other reviews before we stopped here and I'm glad because I found the food, the service, and the staff to be very good. We ordered one hot sub (meatballs) and one cold sub (turkey and Swiss) and we really enjoyed both. The meatballs were homemade and the turkey was fresh and delicious. The only small complaint I would have is that I asked for the cold sub to be made without mayo and they put it on anyway. Not a big deal though and I won't make it one here. I was surprised at the size of the menu and especially all of the hot foods they offer. I came in about 25 minutes to closing and no one gave the the impression that they were too busy or in any way resented my order or the lateness of the hour. There was another guy in front of me who placed a large order and he, too, was welcomed and his order taken in stride. One thing that's important to know is that this Subworks is not affiliated in any way with the Subworks in Avenel. They have a much bigger menu including hot foods and pizza. I'd suggest that you try Subworks in Rahway the next time you feel like having a good deli sub. 1,000 times better than Sub Way or convenience store subs. TERRIBLE! I walked in and ordered a whole turkey and cheese about 10 minutes before closing. The old man licked his fingertips right in front of me as he was handling food. The younger girl who acts like she is hot that made my sandwich did a terrible job! I left and bit into it, only to find it tasted like she poured the entire shaker of oregano on it! It was so bad I could not even eat it. I threw it in the garbage. Was somebody upset that I came too late while they were starting to clean up? Whatever the case...avoid this joint like the plague! read more

Subworks is one of the quietest food franchise around some states or possibly nation. I believe when I say the food was good, I mean it. I had visited and eaten there many, many times. My first order from the restaurant was a Turkey Sub with lettuce, pepper, salt, vinegar and olive oil or regular oil. When I say good, that was freaken explosive freshness in my taste buds. Compared to those corner stores that are also deli but this franchise really does have it. Sometimes when I don't dine with friends, I ask for tomatos and it just tasted 1000x tastier. Speaking about it makes my mouth all watery! They have a great variety of foods from soups, subs, pizza, sandwiches, etc. also the staff here are very friendly and interactive. :) read more

I have ordered from here many times before new owners and it was great but the last 2 times I ordered there were problems with order. I ordered a ham salami and cheese sandwich twice and both times in asked for extra oil and vinegar because it's never enough for me and both times they forgot it. Then today when I got my sandwich there was a hair in it, disgusting. Today we also ordered garlic nots and there was no marinara sauce so I called to complain and they said you need to ask for it cause they charge extra for it. Really??? Like wtf, I have ordered from many places and never had to ask or pay for marinara. I never got an apology or anything for the hair in my food or forgetting my extra oil and vinegar. I don't think I will be ordering from them again. That's not the right way to do business. read more

Heard this place had very nice subs. The ladies who waited on me were both polite. I bought a chicken parm sub and a cheese steak sub. The chicken parm has nice tasting chicken but had a little bit too much pepper on it. The cheese steak sub was good quality, but I find that all sub places don't put enough cheese on, so I added 2 slices of cheese when I got to my home. I would go back to have the cheese steak again or some of the other appealing subs. read more

This is the last time I will order from Subworks. I know it was Super Bowl Sunday when I placed my order but that doesn't mean you should settle for mediocre service. They forgot half my order. The delivery guy tried to charge me for something I paid credit with. The mozzarella sticks were doughie & oily; cheese not melted. The cheese fries tasted like they had fake cheese on them. The chicken wings were so small-I was like, where's the meat?? I used to love getting food from there but after this, I will definitely think twice and spend my money elsewhere. read more

Sub work is an awesome place to either eat, get your food delivered, or call ahead and pick it up. The staff is great but just like any other staff when dealing with the demands of the public. I think they handle themselves very well and the food .... all the food is fresh and made fresh daily. I love the owners and got to know them well ... I am a black African American in case you are wondering any other challenges. I never had or received any inkling of push back. Extremely happy with SubWorks. I went there at 10:00 am to get 5 subs to bring on an outing that I knew weren't going to be consumed for at least 3-4 hours. I wrote down what everyone wanted and the counter person and I went through it together ( just to clarify my hand writing). When lunch time came these sandwiches were only NOT a soggy mess, but exactly what everyone wanted. Just delious and tasted just made. There's no need to go anywhere else for subs. My husband loves the subs here and convinced me to try their tuna which I am extremely picky about and usually only eat my own. I thought it was great as was the turkey. Very large menu and heard their pizza , wings and wraps are great too. I can't comment on the service as my husband picked it up but he has no complaints. I work near Subworks and often place large sub orders to feed my staff for lunch when we are working on Saturdays. Yesterday, I placed an order at 11:45 am to be delivered at 1:00 pm. It was an order for 8 subs, which is smaller than the orders I usually place. At 12:55, I received a call from Stephanie saying my order wasn't going to be ready for 1:00 pm. I said "that's ok, how long do you think it will be?". She put Barbara, the manager, on the phone. Barbara proceeded to complain to me that they are too busy working on an order that was placed before mine for 40 subs and repeated that my order would not be ready. I asked her why I wasn't told when I called that they were too busy to fill my request. I would have called another place. She responded with, "so do you want to cancel the order?". Of course I had to cancel it because my staff was going to break for lunch in 5 minutes and I had no food to give them. Barbara did not once apologize for their mistake and instead made me feel like my order was a huge inconvenience for her. Well, I won't be ordering from or visiting Subworks ever again. Barbara won't have to worry about my orders being an inconvenience to her ever again! To the owner of Subworks, I'm sorry to inform you that you have a lousy manager who has caused you to lose future business because of her incredibly rude way of speaking to good customers. read more
