I like the atmosphere but had a real issue with how the bartender treated me. I was there with family and friends, I was sitting on the barstool in front of the bar as I closed my tab out. A lot of my family was speaking to me and I had to get the check done before I left, I tipped 15% as I thought it was appropriate and meant no ill will. The bartender, in front of my family, friends, and other patrons pointed to the tip and said "Hey man, thats it?" This was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. As he said this he gave me a look like I should change this now before something could happen. I almost wanted to change the amount to nothing because of this comment but I felt that I had no choice in the matter and changed it to over a 25% tip. If you do not want to be shaken down by bartenders and be deliberately embarrassed by staff in front of everyone for doing nothing wrong. I suggest you go somewhere different. read more

What you see is what you get, and you get out of this bar exactly what you take in. It may seem like a dark and gloomy hole in the wall, but the beer is cold and prompt, and the service is solid, what else do you want? This bar would be perfectly paired with a hotel: don't like the patrons or bartenders? Wait a little while, they all come and go like the rain. Daily specials are offered, smoking is allowed, and please take notice of the sign: "no drama, violators will be bitch slapped." It ought to be put on the front door. read more

I will say I like this bar because it has a homey environment and their drinks are reasonably priced. Most of the staff are sweet and kind (Keith) but some are judgemental assholes. I like the vibe but the staff needs to learn better customer service. Other than that it's a cool place to drink. The bar dog is adorable. read more

Beware of the bartender trying to shortchange you! I rarely go to Cheers these days because, to be honest, it's just a depressing place but last night I stopped by to have one drink before heading to Clear Lake. Two buddies and I walked in around 10pm on Saturday 1/30/21 and walked up to the bar. I asked the bartender for a Dos XX and asked the price which she replied, "$4." I handed her a twenty dollar bill and she gave me $14 back. I went to leave a $1 tip when I realized she only gave me $14 in change. When I asked her again how much the beer was she replied rudely and said, "I told you $4!" I told her she only gave me $14 back and she acted all surprised like it was an honest mistake but my friends and I were completely sober and could tell by her response that she knew exactly what she did. Again I'm shocked no one has reviewed this place! It's a total dive bar and I love it. A lot of regulars come here and everyone becomes your friend! Everybody knows your name! Ha! Prices are cheap, good happy hour and drink specials. On Wednesday they have a steak night(the only night they have food) and it's really really good! I always being my dog and she loves it! They have karaoke on certain nights as well. read more

There is a reason I don't like dive bars. What dive bar really means is dirty and unkempt. I don't like it when this term is used in a flattering manner. This place is a "total dive bar". So much so that you will walk in to be greeted by low lighting to give you that extra stabby' vibe. I walked in here to meet a friend and catch up. The people there quickly eyed me as if to say "you don't belong here", although the patrons are no fault of the bar and so I will not hold it against them. The bartender was exceptionally friendly although it did take here forever to get drinks out. She was mindful of this, however, and through in a drink on the house without me saying a thing, that was well appreciated. What was not well appreciated was the roach that decided to crawl over my hand while I was drinking. As not to make a scene I quietly disposed of it. That is, however, completely unacceptable. Despite the utterly disgraceful, laughable excuse of an ambiance and total lack of cleanliness, the drinks were not only affordable but enjoyable. It was also nice to see that, while they didn't care for the cleanliness bar, they did care for that of their liquor. All bottles that were equipped with pourers or were sweet enough to attract flies did have plastic hats to keep the flies out. Definitely something I look for as a common bar patron. Overall, drinks were tasty and affordable but the bar itself was gloomy and not well kept. read more
