Since I was with my 14 year old, most of my time was force in the disco era, she thinks its fascinating and loves the colors. I too was amazed at the size of the selection of 70's clothing. While I don't see myself shopping here daily, I will say that I will never buy a Halloween outfit anywhere else but here. Why would I. Matter of a fact, I think I'm going to plan my outfits for this years Halloween parties starting in early September, just so I can identify and purchase what I want early. We didn't really see much on the employee side, I'm not sure how staffed they'd be prior to any big costume type event, but one person did manage to ask if I needed help. The place is not super large, and everything is kinda cramped together, so you'll want to give yourself some time to walk around and take it all in. After catching up with my friend, I walked through the entryway into a completely different world. Well, country, I guess. There were racks of beautiful belly dancer outfits, statues of Egyptian gods, jewelry, papyrus prints, just awesome. I stayed to chat with the owner, Dee Dee, who is ridiculously sweet and helpful. He was super-high-energy, and funny as heck, doing prop comedy, juggling, telling jokes, and performing magic that entertained the parents as much as the kids. My husband and I enjoyed it so much, we chatted with him a bit after the show and found out he has a whole crew of performers with an amazing array of talents. So, then we had this idea for Halloween. ;) A hayride, a stilt walker, a fire breather/eater, witches, a magician, living statues, a fortune teller, jugglers, and a guy with a passel of reptiles that he parades around for the guests to pet and be in awe of. ;) Well, our youngest just turned 9, and she wanted a visit from a mermaid princess at her birthday party. Tharpo came through again! Our mermaid princess was so beautiful and sweet! She arrived on time in a lovely costume, played games with and music for the children, and everyone had a wonderful time! The set up was quick and easy, and the actor was incredibly courteous and wonderful with the kids. We were having a splash party for our son and so just expected a quick drop in and hello to the birthday boy, however Spider-Man offered to join in the water fun which was an unexpected surprise. He didn't care if his costume got wet and let the kids spray him with water guns. Our son has talked everyday about how Spider-Man came to see him on his birthday. Can't say enough good things. Truly appreciate the actor who made our son's 5th birthday very special. We will definitely reach out again to book actors for future events.
