If you're looking for a costume, ANY COSTUME, stop here before going anywhere else. These two ladies not only have every outfit imaginable, they will take the time to get you lined out and looking great. I came in with just a few days to spare and after 30 minutes I had every thing I needed, plus a costume for my wife, and props! They're great. Can't recommend them enough.

This is such a great place to get a costume for any event. I could spend an hour or two just walking around looking at all the options. But, let the owner, Susan, get started helping you and she will create a masterpiece! She also has an amazing variety of set pieces that could be used to stage a party or show. Also, it's a huge value as the prices are not high. read more

My stepdaughter has plans to marry at Sherwood Forest Faire and I needed an appropriate costume. After searching the internet and a vintage clothing store in McKinney I was worried that I wasn't going to find what I needed. Luckily I found Susan and Lori at the Backstage closet. Make an appointment and get all the help you need to find the perfect outfit or accessories. It was perfect! read more

Bopped in a few days ago to see if I could put together some 'garb' for Scarborough Renaissance Fair... from the moment I entered, my toes were tapping and my eyes were shining.... all the colors! the sparkles! every sort of 'costume' one could ever dream of... is HERE! I entered quietly -- not something typical of me -- and called out "I'm here" because Susan was expecting me. We said our hellos, and got busy! This lady knows her business, and has an unbelievable eye for what works! In less than 2 hours I was Ready for my interview. Oh yeah, Interview! Susan's rental rates are incredibly fair. The store is clean and bright and just FUN. Will I go back? Mmmmm Yeah! I have an upcoming "thing" for which I need a specific look... Ok, obligatory words here : I do not work for this establishment. I did not know anyone who works there, nor the owners, prior to stepping toes in for the first time a few days ago. I was not asked to write this review, nor am I being compensated for it. read more

I can't say enough about the amazing customer service, selection & friendliness of the owners & staff at Backstage Closet! Pam met me at their 12,000 square foot warehouse & gave me a tour. They have everything divided up by decade, so every few steps, we walked into a new section full of authentic clothing, accessaries & even props from every decade imaginable! I needed something from the 1950's for a sock-hop themed dinner, dance & fundraiser my husband & I were attending that weekend. Well, Pam & Susan (the owner) got to work & before I knew it, I had everything I needed from an adorable pink poodle skirt, to bobby socks & black & white saddle shoes! They even had cat-eye glasses & a pink chiffon scarf to finish off the outfit. They also had an awesome outfit for my hubby, so we really felt like we were transported back to the 50's on our special evening! If you need a costume for any occasion, I highly recommend you try this place out... oh & you won't break the bank there either. Very reasonable! Tell them Wanda sent you! read more

Absolutely love this place. It's our go to place for costumes for our son and his buddies when it's school musical time! Susan never fails to come through. And the costumes always pull out the best in the kids character. One of these days I want to just have a grown up theme party and direct people to here. The place is magical. This place is absolutely amazing! The people helped me with a very specific costume for over 1 1/2 hours and got me every accessory and everything I could possibly need. I had a specific vision in mind and they were able to make the costume come to life. You can tell that they really have a passion for dressing up and customer service because they really went the extra mile to make sure the look was perfection.I am so glad I stumbled upon this place you must go keep in mind it's rentals only but it's also very fair in the way it's priced. For $5 you get to park your car in the adjacent lot and gain admission to their little fair (we had cash, not sure if they accept credit or debit). There were a bunch of pumpkin displays, free hayride, kid activities, vendors selling local goods (knits, clothing, baked goods, soaps, popcorn, honey, etc.), and a haunted maze for $2 admissions within the grounds. Some of the activities require additional cost (like the pumpkin painting for the kids). They have chickens roaming around the property (they usually stay near their little chicken coop in the far back). The free hayride was fun, just a little ride around their property- nothing spectacular. The kids on our tour ride seem to enjoy it :P If you're looking to spend about 40 mins or less at a pumpkin patch, this is the place to go!
