It's tucked away in a small plaza on the right if you're heading west toward Clearwater Beach, and the moment you walk in, the quiet, cozy atmosphere sets the tone for a great Italian meal. They make their pasta fresh in-house, and there's even a pasta showcase where you can see it being made from scratch. Our server--possibly the owner or manager--was incredibly friendly. We didn't catch his name, but he greeted us warmly and ended up chatting with us about pasta making after we mentioned our own (disastrous but funny) attempt at home. We talked flour, water ratios, and pasta machines. That conversation alone made the whole experience feel personal and memorable. Now, the food. We started with warm house-made bread and olive oil, plus a Caesar salad that was easily big enough for two. My wife ordered the cheese wheel fettuccine, where they mix the pasta right inside the wheel--super fun to watch. I went with a classic: spaghetti and meatballs. The cheese wheel pasta was perfectly al dente with a creamy, rich sauce. My wife said it was the best pasta she's ever had. My spaghetti was just as impressive--the red sauce tasted incredibly fresh, not overly tomato-heavy, just balanced and delicious. We were both more than satisfied. To finish, we grabbed a tiramisu to go, made fresh to order. They offer other desserts, but tiramisu is our all-time favorite, so that was a must. I'm really glad we finally stopped in. Delivery Pizza has Parmesan on it not sure why , Caesar salad had the dressing already on it when 30 min later the dressing soaked the salad . Should have had it in another container for delivery . Also not cheap $43.54 with 15% tip and all the delivery fees . 1 pizza and 1 Caesar salad is what I ordered nothing else. Found this gem looking specifically for the type of pasta swirled in a cheese wheel. And I absolutely loved it! I had the the basic cheese wheel pasta that is homemade wide fettuccine noodles, topped with fresh cracked pepper and i included the shrimp. My pasta was tender, cheesy, and amazing. The shrimp were huge and cooked absolutely perfect. Husband had Sausage Penne Vodka. I thought it tasted great but he was a "meh". He said the Sausage could have been more pronounced. How do I even start? This special little eatery has truly found a special place in my heart. We have tried pizza literally all across the country, and the world, and this is the BEST pizza in the United States. We are so lucky to have this amazing restaurant right here in Clearwater. We love a pizza with a soft, squishy, and chewy crust, and theirs is exactly that. Their food is so amazing that they should always have a line out the door! This has become our new favorite spot to take friends. It is very affordable and provides lovely outdoor seating downtown. It is very accessible and convenient with street parking right out front. You can tell all of their food is made with love. It is family owned, and they import a lot of their ingredients. The flour they use makes a huge difference. Their pizzas are true Neapolitan style with chewy crusts and soft dough. Their pasta is very fresh and delicately seasoned, showcasing their quality ingredients. This might sound weird, but their water is AMAZING. Every time we go, we drink four whole bottles. Whatever way they are filtering it, it is awesome. I highly recommend their whipped ricotta dish, as well. It is sweet, subtle, and quite refreshing. The Cheese Wheel is such a special place that deserves so much more recognition. Found this restaurant by mistake ( obviously a good one) downtown Clearwater. We went the Sunday after Christmas ( 12/28/25). We had an awesome meal. Shared the Prosciutto E Rucola pizza ( mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, arugula and prosciutto) was light , crunchy and delicious. From there we had the cheese wheel pasta again an amazing meal. This is a small very friendly restaurant, staff (family) , chef / owner very pleasant, friendly and personable. Price range is good ( reasonable) . Absolutely phenomenal & a hidden gem located on Cleveland St. The appetizers of the Whipped Ricota drizzled with honey, lemon and herbs with the homemade bread was very tasty as were the baked shrimp with olive oil, butter and just a touch of chili flakes. The cheese wheel pasta is made with homemade fettuccine swirled, piping hot, into a big old wheel of cheese. The ragu bolognese was definitely my favorite --very flavorful! Also--had the brick oven pizza was a delicious pie on homemade crust made in the fanciest pizza oven I've ever seen. The Tiramisu was a lovely way to wrap up the meal. Clearwater still has not issued their liquor license (it's been 6 months) but you can bring your own wine...and you must bring your cork screw. Beer also. No corkage fee!! Best ever! Elvis and his family are so wonderful and charming, and make sure your every culinary need is met. They are open 5 pm until 9 pm Tuesday through Sunday. It brought joy to everyone at the table. My wife ordered the Cheese Wheel Pasta, aptly named, as a giant parmesan wheel of cheese is carted out. The hot pasta is mixed deep within the wheel, resulting in a spectacularly, creamy and silky pasta which melts in the mouth. There's nothing like it. My son ordered salmon over pasta and my daughter had the penne pasta with Italian sausage and vodka sauce. Their bowls were completely empty at the end of the service. I had the parpadelle pasta with a bolognese ragu sauce. The thin ribbons of pasta soak up the sauce effortlessly and deliver a savory and possibly, heavenly bite. The pasta here is freshly made. We waited an extended period while multiple tables seated after us were served, received drinks, ate, and checked out. Our food arrived cold, and we never received any drinks--not even water. When we raised the issue, a man identifying himself as a manager said he was also the owner. When I asked for the owner's contact information, he refused and said there was "no problem" and asked why the police would be called. His behavior became confrontational. He stood very close to us, raised his voice, told me to "shut my mouth," and told me to calm down while insisting the food was not cold. We felt unsafe in a full restaurant. Despite not receiving drinks and receiving cold food, we were still expected to pay in full. I had to tell him to step away or I would contact the police. This was an unacceptable experience.
