    11.9 miles!! We killed it!!

Amazing, well trafficked out hike that anyone can enjoy. We hiked 11.9 miles and feel great!! I love all these hidden hikes in our town. We are so blessed to live out here. We only saw about 5 bikers the entire time and they were friendly. The creek was dry but it was a nice view. The different wildflowers were in full bloom so we were able to enjoy the beauty of nature while getting fit!!

Beautiful trails. A good mix of hills and flat paths. Also nice that there are trails were its semi shady/with picknick area which helped with the heat. Porta pottys and maps at the trailhalead. Pet friendly. Dogs allowed on leash. Only con is that the signs along the trails are horrible. Wish i had taken pix , but an ex. Would be there will be a split on the trail amd a dign with 2 names of the 2 trails but only one arrow. We managed to figure it out but would be nice to have good sjgns in case my phone died.

Love, Love this place. Endless trails and beautiful scenery. A must see whether your hiking, horse back riding or mountain biking.

I think this canyon was affected by the fires because it was mostly dusty and desert-like. Described in my book as a lush canyon trail with sights like Sulphur springs, the "Baleen Wall" (white, jagged cliffs) ending in a sheep corral and Shepard's Flat. Unfortunately I missed all of these because the trails were not marked in the slightest and there were many different turns you can take so I basically ended up getting lost and heading down a pretty boring, flat path (it also promised a 600 ft incline) -- not bad if you want to ride your horse, but I was hoping for something a little more tough. There are two main trails to take, Cheseboro Canyon or Modelo, but you end up in a loop whichever one you take (assuming you don't stray off the path like I apparently did) Still, it's only 20 minutes from the valley and I see potential, I might head back and try again, this time with map in hand. Distance: 8.6 mi RT Time: 4 hrs. Elevation Gain: 600 ft.

Went about 3-4 miles up Canyon Trail and back. Big, beautiful oaks run along the trail so even though it was very hot there was a good portion of the trail in the shade. It was an easy hike with very few ppl on it. Saw a rattlesnake so be aware of what's in the tall grass....

If you want to get away this is a perfect and easy hike! I went in the late afternoon so it wasn't that hot. There are many different trails on this hike with signs so look out for them! Try to go one that reaches the hills it's perfect and beautiful!

From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm and welcoming. Our guide, Sienna, was incredibly thorough in walking us through the basics and made sure we felt comfortable before heading out. As total beginners, safety was my biggest concern; but she has such a steady, reassuring energy that we felt confident the entire ride. The trail itself was breathtaking. Rolling Malibu mountains, wide open skies, and those views that make you stop mid-sentence. Sienna even paused at the most scenic spots to help us take photos, which I really appreciated. The horses had different personalities, I got a very calm horse and my husband's horse kept stopping along the way to snack on the bushes :) It was funny but I'm glad Sienna chose an easier one for me. Overall the whole experience felt thoughtfully run from start to finish. Small tip: You'll lose cell reception on the drive in and out of the mountains, so make sure you have your next destination's address saved or mapped ahead of time. If you're considering trying horseback riding, especially for the first time, this is such a special place to do it. We're already planning our return!

I began taking dressage lessons with Brittany several weeks ago. I've ridden my entire life, but…read morehaven't done much the last several years. Brittany's facility is quite nice, very clean and the horses are all very well cared for. These were all reasons I chose Breezy Meadows. Brittany is very kind and knowledgeable, not to mention very patient in easing an adult back into proper form. I would recommend this barn to others seeking to learn how to ride or continue to ride. Although, I only ride English, she offers other disciplines, as well.

AVOID BREEZY MEADOWS!…read more Like Jeff C. and several of the filtered reviews, I had a horrible experience with Breezy Meadows. I brought my horse over on Friday, February 2nd, 2024. I started having problems by the second day in. They barely put any shavings in the stalls... not even enough to soak up the urine or to cover the floor. They only sprinkle in a little bit of fresh shavings every 3-4 days, which is unsanitary. I spoke with Brittany Burzynski several times requesting extra shavings. I wanted thick and cushy shavings in the stall. She told me it would be an extra $80. I confirmed that I would pay this. There were still no shavings in the stall after a week and multiple conversations about this problem. My horse was standing in urine!!! So I was in a rush to find another facility for my baby. Luckily, I found an amazing barn that was able to squeeze her in in a rush, since the conditions were really bad where she was currently at. I moved her out on the 16th (Exactly 2 weeks from when she was brought to Breezy.) I gave my 30 days notice and paid the additional two weeks in March, which was required when I gave my 30 day notice, and I ate the 2 additional weeks in February. I just wanted her out of there. While moving her out, Tyler Burzynski was extremely aggressive. He handed me my contract after I told him I already have a copy. Then he started yelling at me and recording me with his phone telling me that this is his property and I need to leave. Which I was in the process of doing since I was getting in my car with all of my things before he started making a scene. I asked him why he's recording me because he's the one causing a scene in front of all of his customers, and he proceeded to yell at me. So I got my car and left. He recorded me driving down the street which is completely stupid he was the one causing a problem. Also, paid an additional $100 for Orchard hay since they only feed alfalfa. I asked for the additional hay that I paid for when I was leaving, because I paid for a month of hay, and I was only there for for two weeks. Tyler got in my face and said that I'm not getting my hay and then I need to leave his property (which they rent from the owner of the house.) This complete BS since I paid for it. Tyler took it upon himself to block the entrance to the stable with his truck and trailer, so that we had to bring my horse into the street to load her. They really do not care about the safety of the horses. On another note, Brittney Burzynski advised me for the first month at the barn to start with half training to ease my Mare in. I agreed to this. Half training is $450 for three days of training per week. Full training is $700 for five days of training per week. After I gave my notice, I was told that she LUNGED her 3 times... and since I never signed a training contract which I was never told to sign, I need to pay her for lessons at $65 an hour ($195) The ONLY reason I paid this is because I was trying to get get my horse out safely, without having any problems. Welp, that didn't happen. AVOID BREEZY MEADOWS!!! (If anyone would like to message me I will send every message between Brittney Burzynski and I, so you don't feel like I'm cropping the conversation.) *Update on Brittney's response. This is not a fake account. Marie is my middle name and A is my maiden last name. Brittney E....

The most exciting thing was the hairy black tarantula that crossed the path. Many dirt roads run through this nature area that mostly stretch north-south with smaller east-west connector trails. Also with multiple trailheads, I chose an 8.6-mile loop with a 1000' elevation change that started at the north end of Las Virgenes Road off the 118 in Calabasas. 0.0 miles: Park on the street and walk north past the aptly named Sulphur Spring (don't know how the nearby apartments handle the smell). Follow this dirt road and stay left. 0.8 miles: Left to go up the Las Virgenes Connector which is not a road but a wide trail. 1.3 miles: Right to Cheeseboro Ridge Trail under electrical lines because this dirt road services a series of power towers. The trail has views of the rocky Baleen Wall on the left. 3.5 miles: Reach highest point with outcropping of boulders with decent view. 4.5 miles: Right at marked sign to go down Sheep Corral Trail - a single track trail not a road. 6.3 miles: Right to the mostly flat Bell Canyon Fire Road at the valley floor with occasional tree shade and many signs warning of the underground high pressure natural gas line. We were among the very few hikers but encountered plenty of mountain bikers. I didn't see anyone with dogs but there was plenty of poop on the trail.
