This was my second trip to Cheesesteak Republic. I was in town for work and was looking for something new to eat. And somehow this caught my eye and I was immediately intrigued. It's been on my mind ever since my first visit a couple of weeks ago. I'd ordered my food online and went to pick it up. By no means am I an expert and don't know how "authentic" or not this is for the purists. But I know this was delicious. For both visits I am getting the 11.5" Da Jabroni. The first time I got provolone and then the second time I got the whiz cheese I can't really decide which one is better but both were amazing. Also I ordered the parmesan truffle fries that comes with a ranch and their spicy wikkid dip sauce It's a pretty generous size of fries but considering how much of the cheese steak that I had eaten I wish I had more of an appetite to eat more of the fries. On my first trip here it was a little bit hard to find where this was located at. But all the information says it's at the VFW building. My first visit I parked on the opposite side of the building so I had to find the correct side of the location. There are a couple tables right outside for you to enjoy. But the team here was very happy and you can tell that they really like working here. I would highly recommend cheesesteak Republic as the place to go if you're looking for Philly cheese steak in the area. I can't wait to be back in town to order this again. Definitely giving this spot 4 stars because we are happy to have them! I know the 805 has been hurting for a good cheesesteak place so I get why this spot is being super hyped. I think maybe my expectations from some reviews were super high and maybe that altered what I expected a little? Either way it's definitely a good spot & easy for a quick lunch. I like the vibe, it's almost like a speakeasy but for cheesesteaks lol. Thankfully they had an orange sign on the street which helped me find them in this industrial / business area off Market. I work nearby so I totally get the hype to have a great spot like this nearby. You order at the counter and await your name to be called. They have a few shaded tables but easy to get your food to go here. I felt like service and staff were definitely 5 stars. Both gentlemen behind the counter were very nice and kind. Friendly, my order was taken quickly and efficiently. Also impressed that I waited under 5 minutes for my order to be called, it was pretty quick. Again, makes it perfect for eating on the go. Prices were also very reasonable and I can appreciate the simplicity of their menu. Food for me was 4 stars all day long. Got the classic cheesesteak with grilled onions and white American cheese. Maybe next time I should go with the whiz or extra cheese? Also maybe add the mushrooms? I did feel like it needed more so that's on me. The rolls are definitely delightful, soft and perfect as others did note. That I agree. Having had cheesesteaks in Philly every summer and having a staple cheesesteak spot in LA that I basically lived at, I will say maybe I'm harder to please then the average 805'er who has less to compare it to. I get why everyone's thrilled about this spot, it's warranted. Good food overall, super friendly staff, and a much needed food stand in the area. Ive been hoping and wishing for a Philly cheesesteak spot and lo and behold, cheesesteak republic popped up on my IG feed! I ordered a lil Phil (6" sandwich) and added bell peppers + white American cheese. The roll was really soft, the diced onions were caramelized, the steak was thinly sliced and seasoned well, and the cheese was meltyyyy. The peppers added some dimension and next time I would also add banana peppers! Also got a boat of hot salty crispy fries - I made it through 1/3rd of it! And finished it off with a thin crispy choc chip cookie. I was stuffed and got really close to finishing the lil Phil. Will definitely be back when I'm craving some salty goodness or need a hangover cure. Service was great, the two people working were very enthusiastic. Pickup window is located in the VFW building on market street, parking available! There are a few tables in the parking lot with umbrellas. read more

I was super excited to try this place after first seeing a post from the owner on Reddit asking for input from folks prior to their opening. I also love a good cheesesteak (how could you not?!). I ordered the OG Ventura style with white American and mushrooms. The meat and roll were great. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find out that Ventura style apparently just means cold peppers included in a tiny condiment size cup on the side, and the extra mushrooms equated to maybe two in the whole sandwich. Perhaps this experience was because I ordered through Doordash. However, given the already relatively high prices, I was not too happy to have paid extra for items that seemed like they should have been included or, at the very least, not $1 a piece. read more

I have personally flown to Philly to try Tony Luke's, Pat, and Geno's. I can tell you that after trying Cheesesteak Republic I want a refund on my flight and all meals for that trip. This place has got Philly beat with it's own game!!! We are talking lots of flavorful meat, perfectly grilled onions, and delightful whiz. Not a whiz fan? Want something a little less traditional? No problem! You can choose Provolone or White American! Perfect flavors and ratios. The buns hold all the meat, liquids, and goodness until the last bite without falling apart into a soggy mess. But if you want more goodness, ask to pile on chilies, peppers, or mushrooms! Size matters and the cheesesteak comes in three sizes. Saving room for the fries? Get the 6". Hungry? get the 15 oz 11.5" Or get the middle of the road 8" for all purpose eats. Speaking of fries. . . these are perfectly fried fries. Glorious toppings. It does not get better than bacon and cheese. Somehow, they have miraculously perfected the fries to the point where even fully ladened, they do not get soggy. Grab a fork because you are going to want to scrape up every last bit of that deliciousness!!! Speaking of deliciousness, what is that side of "Wikkid" sauce? Amazing cheesesteaks. I am from Philly area, and I am so happy they use Amoroso rolls. I haven't had any of these in 10-15 years and they are still amazing. French fries are extremely salty! Cheesesteak sandwiches are so so. Cheese totally stuck on the top of the bread. Onions were undercooked and crunchy. Sandwich is nearly $10 for a small. Go somewhere else. read more

We tried this locally owned Cheesesteak restaurant and I have to say it was fantastic. I had the veggie sandwich which was amazing. My boyfriend had the typical beef cheesesteak and said it was the best he had ever had. You order at the window and you can sit outside. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Over 25 years since Ive had a good cheesesteak and I savored every bite. Location is at the VFW and Im glad its not downtown or midtown. They have plenty of parking and friendly customer service. Everyone was smiling and not much talking since we were all busy chowing down. Seating is outdoors, limited and tables are shared with strangers so be cool.
