We made a same day reservation for 14 people and were very impressed with how well they handled our group. I am not sure what everyone ordered so can only go into details about what my husband and I had and what murmurings I heard from the folks seated around me. I got the pork rib barbecue with soondubu (soft tofu stew). Hubs got the beef bulgogi with kimchi jigae (stew). There were also a variety of banchan. Some friends split the large BBQ combo which looked big as a house. Another friend ordered a bunch of dumplings. If I were to have one complaint, it would be that the menu wasn't beginner friendly. I'm personally well acquainted with Korean food but there were a couple folks in the group who had never had it before and didn't have enough info about what they were ordering. Many of the items in the "entrees" section are soups, but they don't say that they're soups and at least one friend was surprised that is what they ended up with. I wish I'd known they were struggling and could have helped them, but I'd recommend that the restaurant revise the menus a bit or at least have one page that defines some stuff for the beginners. Beyond that, no real complaints. The portions were large and I was very happy with everything I ate. The banchan were good, mostly representative of banchan I've had elsewhere though their bean sprouts were a bit different than I usually get (in a good way) and a couple of the radish dishes might have been a little too similar. The soondubu was good, a little less "fishy" than I'm used to; mine uses anchovy broth but maybe they don't? It wasn't spicy at all. The kimchi jigae was a little spicier. The BBQ pork rib was a little different than I was expecting from another restaurant I used to get that dish from, but not in a bad way, it was still very good but less saucy. Still had good flavor, and there was a lot of meat conveniently already removed from the bone for the most part. I like that they cook the food in back; while some might enjoy "make it yourself" BBQ; I prefer to focus on the company when I'm dining out. They were kind enough to split the checks, which with that many people is GREATLY appreciated and they made sure to point out that tip was already included prominently on the bill. Prices are very reasonable for Korean, which is often one of the pricier cuisines, especially given the portion sizes. It is not "cheap", but it is "reasonable" for what you get. I will absolutely organize another group meal here next time I'm in town, I'll just hold a little "Korean food 101" session for the noobs beforehand though to help them know how to order! read more

The food was very tasty and seemed pretty authentic- I had the doenjang jjigae (fermented soybean paste soup) which I was surprised to find on the menu since it's a funky flavor that's unique and very different to "American" taste profiles. It was very good! I liked that it had a good variety of Korean dishes beyond bulgogi and K-fried chicken, as much as I love both of those. I'll be back next time in Greenville. I'm originally from south Florida where there's a plethora of great Korean food so I was hesitant to go here. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and there was only one other table. This restaurant is different from other kbbq, you order your meat and they cook it for you which is great for those who don't like having to cook your own food. A typical Korean bbq restaurant there's a grill on every table and you cook your own meat. With the all you can eat option you eat unlimited meat, side dishes, rice, cheesy corn and soup! Everything came out piping hot and fast. The side dishes were super tasty my favorite was the bean sprouts. Service was super fast. Restaurant is very clean has nice kpop music playing in the back. It ended up being around $50 a person with a soft a drink. I can't wait to come back here! read more

I will spare you the gory details, but have you ever eaten something and thought, "man, that isn't going to sit well later." Well I did when I spent an outrageous $65 for overcooked ribeye and then spent the rest of my night in the bathroom. Also, this is not kbbq in the sense that you get to cook your own meat. Happy to report that a legit K-BBQ option finally landed here in GVL. This is a place you'll see actual Koreans come and frequent, because it's closer in flavor and quality you'll find in an ATL establishment. Ambiance: First thing you'll notice after you find the place, is that the interior is thoughtful, cozy and noticeably more polished than your standard GVL korean place. The KPOP music in the background sets a youthful vibe to an otherwise firmly traditional korean fare. An up-to-date playlist was playing, if that's your thing. Service: Service was great at our time there, which was during lunch. The Korean lady that sat us down was nice and the server who attended to our table was super nice. They were smart to skip the cook it yourself model you'll find in most places. People in the know what to do, but, more often than not in a city like GVL, cooking your own food wont lead to the best experience nor taste. Our lunch time experience only had 5 tables filled and our food came out fast. Food: We ate the lunch All you can eat for $30/person. As with most Korean places, you are presented with your Banchan (side dishes). We were pleasantly surprised that the Sweet cheesy corn was included. We selected a set of three meats (all beef to start) to the server and in a few minutes, a sizzling plate of meat came to us with a pleasant waft of BBQ goodness. As great as it smelled, most of the time, Korean places are either too mom and pop and not very good... or too over the top in their assumption that a more American audience will like things sweeter (which TBH, they do), and overdo the sweetness. This place manages to keep the flavors close what authentic K-BBQ should taste like: quality meat with the flair of a big city joint, and without overdoing things that would turn off Korean traditionalists. It was so good that... it made me think, oh, this place needs to do well so it's around as a staple in the GVL community. Value: This is the best part. My wife and I left FULL after two rounds. The food was quality, the experience was big city good and the bill came in under $70 bucks! Just a couple months ago, we spent over $200 at Texas de Brazil across the street and while we enjoyed it, we ultimately left thinking "well, it was good but was it $220 good?" We left JK feeling as satisfied as TDB, but without crying wallet. Ya'll, we finally got a legit one here in GVL. Let's keep it here! read more

Went for my adult son's birthday. There were five of us. We expected more from the atmosphere; it was definitely not reflective of the prices they charge. The food was mediocre and the way the menu is set up it forces you to either order the "all you can eat" at $40 per person (and if you do then everyone at your table has to as well) or otherwise you must order a pre-selected table combination for either 2-3, or 4-5 people which runs $115 to $160. Additionally you are not allowed to order a side order of any meat. You buy the expensive whole combo or nothing. A bowl of white rice comes with the combination but any refill of a side item is added cost. All appetizers and drinks are also extra. Bottom line is that it cost almost $200 for a so-so meal in B-grade environment with no real perks. The waitress was pleasant. I don't think we will go back. My wife wanted to come here for her birthday. She saw the restaurant when she was at one of the stores next to it and they have Sunday hours posted on their door. We went there Sunday and they are closed despite their hours for Sunday being posted on their door. If you're going to be closed on Sundays take the Sunday hours off your door! read more
