Arrived on a Wednesday around 1pm for a business lunch. Not very crowded. Place was quiet. The owner is a character. Checked in us a few times before, during and after our meal. Nice touch. The food was great - both the brisket and the pork. Our only issue - the food was not very hot when we got it. It did take a fairly long time for them to call our number - probably 20 minutes. I am guessing one item was not ready and the rest of the food sat. My colleague had the same experience. We also got their wings with the Texas gold spicy. So stuffed, could only eat one. It was very good as well. Would definitely go back if in the area. Could easily have been 5 stars if the food temp was where it should have been. Highly Recommend.

We went here last week on the first night they reopened since the fire, and it was so good. The service was great, we were greeted with someone opening the door, and staff and family were very welcoming. The decor is very simple but nice and clean. We walked up to the counter and had to decide on what we wanted with a large menu of items to choose from. I had the Brisket plate with the baked beans and the blackberry cobbler, and it was delicious. The brisket was cooked to perfection, the beans were a little simple but were tasty, and the cobbler was so damn good I would go back just for that. We both devoured our plates, and as we were leaving, the owner shook our hands and was very nice. All in all, a great meal with great Southern hospitality. We will be back!

This place is fantastic. Upon exiting my car I smelled the smoker out back and knew I was in for a great lunch. The person working the counter was super helpful in picking out my selections. As you can see from the pic, I hit a mountain of food for $26 including tip! Unbelievable value. The meats were tremendous. Got the sausage and brisket and was not disappointed. Texas gold sauce is what they're known for and it was one of the better sauces I've ever had. Tangy and sweet. Coleslaw was exactly how I like it. Not too creamy and a big serving. Cornbread was great too. Only drawback was the Mac and cheese. Not a ton of flavor and a bit soggy. Green apple lemonade was unique and tasted great.

Second visit, the food is always great, they have a large menu to choose from and it's well worth the trip. We have tried hotdogs, brisket, ribs, and shrimp & grits. The service is excellent and friendly. The restaurant offers eat in as well carry out. Plenty of seating, it's not fancy but comfortable and there's local artwork on the walls.

WOW! Amazing food!! Our friends got the loaded barrel baked potato with brisket and it was great! We got the 4 meats: brisket, ribs, pork, and sausage. All of it was wonderful! The sweet potato crunch was out of this world! Green beans were also really good. The sauces were excellent! We had fabulous red velvet cake for dessert. I am from CA and would come back just for the BBQ! It is family run and we stayed a while to chat with the owner and his mom. Highly recommend this place!

    Great for groups!

This place is awesome. Not the prettiest inside but the people are really nice and the food is legit Texas bbq. We like to get the "Barrel" potatoes rage cube with bbq on top. So good. I love their brisket! Give them a try!

We always drove by this place and see it packed. Today we stopped for lunch and we are so happy that we did!! It's beyond amazing and I'm picky with BBQ. The owner walks around and makes everyone feel like family!!

Sweet staff is the only reason I'm giving it to stars. So far for lunch. I been waiting 22 minutes to get my order. When it came out, my fries were cold, undercooked and limp. It would not be such a big deal if I didn't order them crispy and well drained. My pulled pork sandwich was full of fat and I had to ask them to give me lean barbecue to replace the Fatty-Q. The replacement sandwich I got looks much better, and the fries are better as well. It seems as though the fire temperature must be set to low as the fry some selves or not crispy. I won't be rushing back as this has nothing on smoke and dreams off Pelham Road.

We loved the nola grilled oysters it is so fresh and delicous. We decided to try a platter of different kinds of oysters. My favorite is the sweet jesus( Maryland oysters ;sweet and clean, less salty). Also tryed a dozen of the happy hour barcat oysters from Chesapeake Bay Virginia ( meaty texture;salty to sweet finish). The most fresh tasting oysters I've tasted in the east coast. They shuck the oysters for you too. For our main plate we both had the charleston shrimp burger(housemade shrimp pattie, lettuce, tomato, charred lemon caper tartar sauce, brioche bun). The shrimp burger is amazing!!!!The best seafood burger I've ever tasted on the east coast. I would recommend 10/10. The photo can be deceiving, quality of the shrimp pattie is unmatched on the east coast. Overall, this restaurant is excellent for fresh seafood. There is more seafood menu items other then oysters and shrimp, looking forward for our next visit!!!!

When asked what were the dishes most appreciated by customers he said the scallops and the short ribs. We both laughed that our last meal at a nice place was scoops served with short ribs... We went for the halibut, and were not disappointed. The fish was nicely seared and creatively served with peach chutney, broccoli salad with shaved almond, golden raisins, radish... (I cheated and copied that from the website.). It was a very well executed dish. My wife brought back a considerable portion for our small dog to enjoy. We had a wedge salad that was as good as any I have had. Nice touch. Desert was a single Sticky Toffee Pudding covered with Vanilla Bean ice cream. The aoili and onions paired so well together. I can't wait to return for this and dinner service. Fries were fresh and crispy. My only complaint is the excess grease was sitting in the bottom of the metal container, so maybe a piece of paper or something at the bottom could help. Coconut espresso martini was also delicious.
