Chef has shared his culinary talents many, many times with my family and friends for many different occasions. It would be hard to pick our favorite dishes but the top three would be - shrimp in a white wine butter sauce; warm poached figs with smoked goat cheese with French baguette; his lavender half frozen mousse. And I always find my kitchen spotless. Wonderful service.

We wanted to have a surprise birthday party for 3 neighbors. We wanted to have 20 guests but also allow my wife to enjoy the party without having to shop, prepare, cook, wait on guests, refill drinks, serve desserts, and clean-up, do the dishes, and place leftovers into Tupperware containers, while all the time having a smile and a sunny disposition. In advance we made an appointment for Josh to come by and check-out or kitchen, and present options. He can cook ANYTHING and make it fabulous! We decided on having a "Taco Bar" with all the fixings. Each guest would grab a plate and either corn or flour tortillas and place them into disposable taco "holders". Then proceed to fill the soft shells and add side dishes of your choice. This is what WE decided. Josh does what YOU want. We decided to purchase several fruits and the Costco cake and pick those up ourselves. We could have had Josh do these things also. We provided serving dishes-both heated and unheated. We did not have everything needed so Josh filled-in with the rest. Based upon our decisions on HOW MUCH we wanted Josh to do, he gave us his PRICE - to add to foods he purchases based upon OUR preferences. We agreed! On the day of the 5:30 party, he showed-up at 2:45 and after bringing-in all his equipment and food, he became our personal CHEF. He cooked, sliced and diced so that ALL WAS READY for the 5:30 party! For the next 3 hours Josh ensured everyone had a full drink glass, full plate, cut-up the cake and served, and finally prepared "take-away" containers for all who wanted stuff. As the last guest left, Josh had cleaned-up serving dishes, disposed of trash & recyclables and then left us with a clean kitchen. How can it be better than that. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NW CHEF SERVICES!! Chef Michael then organize the menu with my son and his fiancé. Chef Michael showed up and started his prep, he was very professional and approachable. His organization in the kitchen was amazing. We had 10 adults and three grandchildren at the tables. Chef Michael treated the kids with respect and described each dish as it came out. We had five appetizers, a couple salads, and the main with two sides. Everything was exceptional, we are still talking about it. We will remember this meal forever. Chef Michael packed up leftovers, and clean the kitchen immaculately. We couldn't be any happier with the service and the food that we received. The grandkids favorite course was the grilled octopus, amazing! We would definitely recommend and would do this again in a heartbeat. Thanks to Laura and Chef Michael

I'd recommend Honest to Goodness and Chef Laura to anyone.

When he came to pick it up, he was handed an agreed upon bill of $75.00 for work completed. He said ok, went "back to his car to get his wallet." A few minutes later, he returns with a cheap bottle of wine and some duck eggs. He quickly handed them to the gunsmith, leaving him bewildered, and then scurried off to his car like the little cockroach he is; leaving without paying. Three people witnessed this. Next time you sign up for one of this guy's 100$ cooking classes, make sure you pay him in Play-Doh.

The London Chef is part cooking school, part cafe, part catering, part dining room, and all heart. My first visit was prompted from a tweet proclaiming the best breakfast sandwich ever. Off I marched with a friend in tow. The cafe front has a selection of baked treats, muffins, croissants, and quiche nestled in between fresh salads and sandwiches for lunch. The breakfast sandwich was warm ciabatta topped with aioli, three layers of slice meat, cheese, two eggs, and homemade tomato sauce that doesn't deserve a lowly name such as ketchup. $10 with a cup of Discovery Coffee, this creation changes weekly and I think is only available on Saturdays. They're using local seasonal ingredients and have a great selection of ready made items to go, including soups, stocks, dips and specialty items from other local food producers. Peek beyond the cafe front and you'll find a beautiful open kitchen filled with stainless ranges for their cooking classes. They do lunch and learns for $25 where you can stop in for lunch, learn to prepare what it is you'll be eating, skip the work, and enjoy the lunch. I haven't done this yet, but I'm really looking forward to taking some of their classes. Beyond the kitchen is a communal dining table made from a single piece of reclaimed Fir that's over five hundred years old. It's stunning. Friendly conversation, while encouraged through the communal seating arrangement, is hard to do until the food is gone. Talking is too distracting and the food is too good. Excited to watch them grow, this gem is sure to be around for a long time to come.

This is not what Ruth does. Ruth cooks the kind of food you'll want to eat every single day - it's fresh, nutritious and delicious. Quiche, soba noodle salad, chicken enchiladas, lasagna, roasted brussels sprouts with acorn squash and quinoa - I can't wait to have her cook for us again! We got lucky and were able to get a couple of days of leftovers out of one meal, too! Her pricing is very fair, especially given that she does all the menu planning, shopping, prep, cooking and cleanup. I'm a gluten-free eater and it was zero problem for Ruth to make a menu that works for me. She also does vegetarian cooking and any other special requests.

Whether you have a really busy work day or are having a lazy Sunday, these meals (anything from salads, lasagnas, or stuffed eggplant) are ready to go on the spot. My best intentions are to do this kind of cooking myself, but after having too many work days that went late, those intentions were often spoiled. In everything from snacks, to desserts, to dinners for 6, Ruth makes a menu with my specific preferences (they can range from gluten free, to no beef, to healthy food or comfort food), does the grocery list, buys the ingredients and then comes to the house to create it. I thought this would be temporary for my family but....what can I say? The value, the meals, the dependability: It's just too good to quit. She creates healthy, fresh and tasty masterpieces and because of her, my taste buds can continue to live full and happy lives.
