Christabel was incredibly accommodating and professional during the booking process. We wanted to the event to have a Hawaiian theme, but on a nonprofit budget, we couldn't afford a Pig Roast. Christabel created a menu that fit our budget and our theme. It was full of delicious creative takes on summer BBQ favourites, like a Yam and Potato Salad and Naturally Raised Porchetta Carvey served with Orange Cilantro Mojo. She also was ready with great alternatives for people with dietary restrictions. The onsite staff were friendly, punctual, and super accommodating. We were running a bit late in the program and they were flexible and kept the food piping hot. Thank-you Little Piggy for helping to make our event so memorable. People always laugh louder and smile bigger when their stomachs are happy!

Everyone at our reception commented on how good it was. The service was also fantastic. The staff set up quickly and were attentive to everyone and their needs during the dinner. When he came to pick it up, he was handed an agreed upon bill of $75.00 for work completed. He said ok, went "back to his car to get his wallet." A few minutes later, he returns with a cheap bottle of wine and some duck eggs. He quickly handed them to the gunsmith, leaving him bewildered, and then scurried off to his car like the little cockroach he is; leaving without paying. Three people witnessed this. Next time you sign up for one of this guy's 100$ cooking classes, make sure you pay him in Play-Doh.

The London Chef is part cooking school, part cafe, part catering, part dining room, and all heart. My first visit was prompted from a tweet proclaiming the best breakfast sandwich ever. Off I marched with a friend in tow. The cafe front has a selection of baked treats, muffins, croissants, and quiche nestled in between fresh salads and sandwiches for lunch. The breakfast sandwich was warm ciabatta topped with aioli, three layers of slice meat, cheese, two eggs, and homemade tomato sauce that doesn't deserve a lowly name such as ketchup. $10 with a cup of Discovery Coffee, this creation changes weekly and I think is only available on Saturdays. They're using local seasonal ingredients and have a great selection of ready made items to go, including soups, stocks, dips and specialty items from other local food producers. Peek beyond the cafe front and you'll find a beautiful open kitchen filled with stainless ranges for their cooking classes. They do lunch and learns for $25 where you can stop in for lunch, learn to prepare what it is you'll be eating, skip the work, and enjoy the lunch. I haven't done this yet, but I'm really looking forward to taking some of their classes. Beyond the kitchen is a communal dining table made from a single piece of reclaimed Fir that's over five hundred years old. It's stunning. Friendly conversation, while encouraged through the communal seating arrangement, is hard to do until the food is gone. Talking is too distracting and the food is too good. Excited to watch them grow, this gem is sure to be around for a long time to come.

My friends and I had a lovely dinner here the other night…read more We were all in town for a wedding and knew we had to make an early night of it, so we made an early reservation, for 5pm (when the restaurant opens for dinner). We were the first patrons there, and we opted to sit in the charming courtyard/patio, which is enclosed by ivied fences and a wrought iron front gate. This front patio feels very intimate, but the restaurant interior also seemed warm and cozy, with various niches for more private diners. The menu highlighted homemade pastas, but there was a good variety of seafood and meat entrees, along with vegetarian options, too. This restaurant has a few features we really REALLY liked: -an "early bird special", which is a 3-course meal offered from 5-5:30pm for $39. -all meals are available in full or half portions. This is FANTASTIC and I wish all restaurants did this. -the food and server were excellent! (The only lukewarm review was from one friend who said his meatball dish was just "okay". The rest of us LOVED our meals. And the creme brûlée was one of the best I ever had). When we left the restaurant, it was totally PACKED, so clearly it is a very popular place here. I'd seriously recommend making a reservation.

My absolute favorite would have to be the duck steak and crème brûlée!! Definitely a 10/10 place to meet up and have dinner in Victoria
