33 acres of sunshine really does look like sunshine

Cafe brio certainly lives up to its name - a very lively dining spot with great food. We weren't very hungry so the 1/2 plates were perfect for us. Spring salmon for me and lingcod for Mark, both expertly prepared. Gavin's green salad with rhubarb compote was a great starter with unique combination of ingredients. 33 acres of sunshine looks very sunny.

Not as many options I was expecting but the choices available were plenty. Ordered the Meatballs (1/2 plate) and the Spaghetti (1/2 plate) and though I intended to take before photos of the spaghetti, I completely forgot. I did however manage to take a photo of the Meatballs. And they were a little spicy for what I'm used to, they were delicious. Perfect amount of sauce and meatballs. The spaghetti, which I was excepting a red sauce, I was extremely satisfied. Sat at the bar and the service was great. Made small talk about Canadian sports. The place was welcoming and inviting. It was a cold, rainy and windy night and the temperature was perfect. Highly recommend this establishment and look forward to returning in the future.

My wife and teenage son had a very enjoyable experience on a Wednesday night. The place was nearly full when we arrived for our 6:45pm reservation, very lively but we were still able to talk without really raising our voices. The service is the best thing happening at Cafe Brio, with staff uniformly pleasant and mature-but-not-old. The menu is inviting and broad without being large - perfectly balanced. The food is nicely executed, both in looks and preparation. The bread is as good as any bakery. My son and I shared the 14oz ribeye and it was just right, medium rare, with a wine jus that made for fantastic bread pairing. My wife's plates were gorgeous and delicious. The non-alcoholic drinks were a hit. We would all be delighted to return.

Another busy night for them, the host/manager made extra steps to get my wife and I in for dinner on short notice. A smallish place, the crowd noise wasn't bad and we could enjoy our wine and dinners and still converse. The menu selections were great and our choices of duck and fish were excellent. Of particular interest was they offered half-portions for everything! We availed ourselves to these smaller portions but as shown in the pictures still plenty of food and very well presented. Highly recommend for a great Italian experience but do book reservations early!

I loved everything about this place. 1. The ambiance is delightful. It's very homey and personal. I imagine it lovely on a chilly winter day. 2. I love a restaurant that offers the same dish in multiple portions sizes. I was able to try 4 dishes in half portion sizes. The wine is available in 6 and 9 hour pours. 3. The food was all delicious. Standouts were the duck and the scallops. 4. Staff were as friendly as can be. My favorite restaurant in Victoria! Must do!

Within walking distance of the Victoria harbor we stopped in for dinner. There were 7 of us. We ordered the Brio Family Dinner. 6-7 courses, all chosen by the Chef and served family style. This of course makes it feel like a holiday!! Charming and fun! Service was spot on! Attentive and knowledgeable! I didn't get photos of everything we were served. Missing are the soup, the salad and the charcuterie boards. But check out what I did get pictures of.....

An absolute treat. Dining here was such a lovely way to end our trip to Victoria. The setting is romantic, cozy and full if character. The service is friendly, attentive and personable. The food is delicious. What more could you want!! We had House Cured Meats, Gnocchi and the Lamb Special with several glasses of wine. Crème brûlée to top it all off was perfect!

Excellent dinner. Great option to have half portions available. Gnocchi was really flavorful and the halibut was perfectly prepared.

FOOD Chicken Alfredo Ravioli ($22.75) Ravioli by itself might have been boring or tasteless but with chicken already? Yum! Comes with bread, soup, and salad also. Roasted Garlic Chicken ($24.25) Comes with spaghetti and tomatoes and it's great! Also comes with bread, soup, and salad. Child's Meatball Spaghetti ($8.25) Comes with a drink and it's filling for small children! Tiramisu ($7.95) A reasonable size for the price - the taste was pretty decent! === 3. SERVICE It was pretty good, from reservation to service in English, to speed of service! === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's better sitting outside when weather permits - with uncovered patio works well for dinners generally speaking but it's also clean and decent indoors as well. The environment just looks intentionally wooden and a little older inside. Baby strollers and wheelchairs have no problem fitting in. Parking is a little uusual in that it's based on your luck with street parking or parkade parking a few buildings over.

Note to Americans who are used to getting the soda in a special collectable glass. They do not have those here. Just the yummy soda itself. Service was good and it came out faster than some of the other Old Spaghetti Factory's I've been at. Clean and of course that great atmosphere. Great location too, within walking distance of the ferry terminal, the Royal BC Museum and many hotels in the area.

Had the brownie for dessert which was also delicious and much larger than I was expecting. Service was excellent, our server was very knowledgeable and tried to make the experience as authentic as possible for us, however keep in mind we went at a slower time. Ambiance is very average, but the restaurant is nice inside and well kept. We went around 2pm so it was very quite but I could see this being a popular spot for dinner due to the lack of restaurants in that area. Overall would recommend and will definitely go again!

I had researched places to eat and found Lot A as it is an Italian -style restaurant. The pictures…read moreonline were very enticing as was the description of the food. We started off with Parmesan Polenta Bites House fried polenta bites, parmesan, spicy tomato sauce. Tasty though spicy might be too big of a word for the dipping sauce, a welcomed change from the expected bread. I had the Caesar Salad: Whole romaine leaves, creamy Caesar dressing, bacon bits, focaccia croutons, crispy capers, shaved parmesan, roasted garlic . I don't care for bacon on this type of salad and love It when I am treated to anchovies. The fried capers were a nice touch, but not a big fan of the creamy dressing as a lighter dressing helps when you still have the main course ahead of you. I had, for dinner: Ricotta & Tomato Campanelle Campanelle, fresh basil, ricotta, parmesan, tomato sauce. Thought I had spaghetti and added chicken. The sauce was very light without much flavor and the chicken was not seasoned and just sliced and cooked. I am wondering if this dish would be better served in a marinara sauce as the ricotta cheese is flat against a bland sauce. I did not finish my dinner because it was simply bland. Dessert was disappointing because I was looking forward to a chocolate dessert, but they were all gluten-free. This is very nice to see for those with celiac disease, but disappointing for me and so we all took a pass on dessert. I also had the Italian Mule drink which was refreshing and delightful and not overwhelming with an alcohol weight. Our server was nice and mostly prompt. Ilianao.?? I have to say this: when servers ask about the food and service in a plural fashion: are we liking the food, did we want to have dessert, it throws me off and is a bit off putting. Simply ask how is the food, did anyone want dessert or want to look at the menu. Can I get anyone anything water, salt , cheese, let me know you know how to be a top server and the tip always reflects that. The lighting in was nice, seating comfortable, and easy to talk.
