Next time you are in downtown or at English Bay make sure to checkout @chefronrestaurant. It's a lively restaurant with indoor and patio seating. We ordered: Yam fries $10 Teriyaki Veggie Bowl $21 + Chicken Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich $23 When we went there was a private event going on so they only had patio seating available and after we ordered they informed us that it would take 45 minutes for our food to come out because of the event. 15 minutes after we sat down the private event's DJ started playing music which was nice but it was way too loud (after dinner when we went for a walk we realized that you could hear the music all the way from 1 block over ). Overall the food was delicious but it would have been nice to have received a heads up about the food delay before we had ordered and if the music was kept at a normal level (it was preventing all the people seated in the patio from having proper conversations with their friends/family). Food wise, everything was delicious. The yam fries had the perfect crunch to it, the cheese steak sandwich was packed with flavour and ingredients, and the teriyaki veggie bowl was filled with delicious vegetables. I asked them to add chicken to the teriyaki rice bowl and I was expecting the chicken to be mixed in with everything else but instead it was served on top and had Cajun seasoning on it ‍ it was still delicious though Parking Food 5/5 Service 3.5/5 Ambiance 4.5/5

We were walking on Denman St looking for a restaurant to eat at for dinner. We finally decided to try Chef Ron's restaurant. It looked like a bar but the food was much better than the average bar food. In fact it was excellent. My husband had the salmon dinner. He proclaimed it as the BEST he ever had. Considering we had just been on an Alaskan cruise and we have had salmon many times in Chicago area- this was high praise. I had a chicken bowl. It had a different name on the menu # 36 tho. The sauce was unique & the vegetables were tasty. I really enjoyed this meal.

Great spot for Happy Hour drinks and hearty food - generous portions and wide variety of delicious eats. Highly recommend by this long time Westender.

Delicious sandwich of generous portion! I ordered the…read moreItaliana which comes with prosciutto crudo, prosciutto cotto, stracciatella cheese, truffle spread and arugula. The taste of the fillings was very well balanced with nothing being overpowering. I could taste every single ingredient yet they went together very well! I particularly liked the stracciatella cheese. It added a fluffy and soft texture to the sandwich. The shop was small, cozy and well decorated. There were some available seats when I was there at around 1:30pm. There was no line as the peak lunch hour had passed. They made my sandwich immediately so I didn't have to wait at all.

Italiana was so good. Double Prosciutto!! Truffle flavor was strong and paired with stracciatella cheese. What a great combination! And Arugula was very fresh. Foccacia was very crispy outside and soft inside. One of the best sandwich. I will order again. Monte cristo was also good. Grilled bread was very crispy and nicely pressed. Provolone and prosciutto cotto combination was great, too. Sundried totamto provided great accent. I will order this one again, too. Overall, it was a great sandwich shop. Highly recommend.

I have walked by this place for so long, not realizing it's a restaurant and bar! Yes, of course…read moreyou have your wall(s) of hot sauce, and offerings of the Hot Ones challenge, but more importantly, they have put their hot sauces to test, pairing them with their huge line up of dishes. I came in to check for a sauce my friend asked for but stayed for a bite! Did I mention that this place is cheap AF!? I don't know how they do it but it's incredibly affordable and the quality of food is impressive! I got their Veggies on Fire (Cheddar, lettuce, sprouts, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, pickles, red onion, banana peppers, Dijon, spicy mayo - Hot Sauce: Dawson's Shawarma). This was $8. Plus I added waffle fries, which I don't even care for. But these were heavily seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sandwiches come with chips but you can't miss the fries. You can choose which breads you want and I choose sourdough. Highly recommend that you toast that bread. The sandwich was huge and staked with so many veggies. The hot sauce was very mild but paired so well. The service was phenomenal! Above and beyond and so friendly. The place gets quite busy, understandable, and they are still so patient and friendly. I can't wait to try their extensive menu and order their veggie friendly menu options! And, obvy, their 1000 hot sauces!

This was quite the find and I'm still sort of processing it all. It's a hot sauce specialty shop,…read morebar, lounge and restaurant, but they don't have a proper kitchen. We found this as our initial destination had an absurd wait, and we left satisfied and pleasantly surprised. I saw pics online of what appeared to be large, juicy, and crispy fried chicken sandwiches sporting local hot sauces as the secret ingredients, and that's what brought us in. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with the Hot Duck chili crisp on it. Upon the bartenders rec we opted for the extra hot, which was a good call because it didn't really pack a punch to us chili heads, but had great flavor. The chicken was juicy and crispy, and the brioche bun was so soft and fluffy. All around a good sandwich, but we found it strange that they only offered it with chips, and no upgrade to fries, which were available as an add on order. As we ate our sandwich and waffle fries we realized there was no smell of oil in the air or sounds of a fryer, which had us scratching our heads. We looked for a hood too and noticed none. Eventually we realized that everything here is commercially air fried, which was both fun to learn and somewhat surprising. If this place had a fryer, it would be SO much better, but considering this limitation, it was solid. The sauce selection was huge too. I loved that you could taste them all and that they offered some amazing deals too. We found a few that warranted us checking a bag on the way back so we could enjoy them on the other side of the border, and I'm stoked they offer online ordering and shipping so we can get some more when they run out. All in all a solid experience. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. As a hot sauce store, this is a 5 star experience, as a restaurant, also good but just have the right expectations.

There are some small tables for two along with high tables. I ordered the 'hot' sandwich, chicken parm. I was expecting crispy chicken parm with yummy cheese and rich tomatoe sauce. Let's be honest, the star of this show is the bread! The baguette was warm, soft and so delicious. However, that's where the excitement stopped for me. The chicken with breading was soggy and the pesto and mozzarella was such a small amount, it felt like a soggy chicken sandwich with lots of bread. If they put more pesto dressing, more mozzarella cheese and more tomatoe sauce, I could have looked past the soggy chicken. All in all, I'm glad it tried it, the bread is amazing, and I'll come back to try a 'cold' sandwich to see if the other options are better!

Nothing special nor any extra extraordinary ingredients. The staff were nice. I don't think it's the staff's fault. It's just how they're told to make the sandwich. Came into the shop hungry paid $15 for a sandwich and left hungry was almost going to get up until the next two customers so I just walked in to save their money. Hopefully this will reach more people.
