    Sausage egg hash browns

It's always hard to put a diner that does exactly what it's supposed to do, onto a five star system. It's a very laid back vibe, casual, L-shaped space. No frills but there was some aesthetical effort. The food was very simple. Nothing standing out nothing out of place nothing notable but nothing disappointing. It was an incredibly standard breakfast and sometimes that's exactly what you're in need of. Definitely too much hash browns on the plate compared to the rest of the meal. A decent diner, a menu that goes beyond the basics, standard breakfast.

Had a really good brunch at Kook's cook. Parking is a bit limited at the front, but there is some in the back and on the side streets. I had the beef, Bulgogi Benedict and my partner had the chicken and waffles. We also ordered a fruit smoothie to share, but it tasted a bit bitter in my opinion. I like that the chicken and waffles came with fresh fruit. The potatoes were nicely done with the Benedict and my eggs were cooked perfectly. Next time I would love to try the pasta dishes! It is a smaller restaurant so services is quite attentive, but don't come with a large party unless you're ok sitting separately.

Western / Korean fusion style brunch place. They specializes in their egg benedict with bulgogi sprinkled on top. The bulgogi is different from traditional Korean dinner style bulgogi. It is more light flavour and sweet, compares to the salty traditional bulgogi, which in my opinion, does the perfect job to serve breakfast. Will come back and try the prawn pasta next time! Hidden gem.

We found this place after searching Google and Yelp for suggestion when our first choice (a Thai restaurant) was closed when we got there. The pictures and menu looked good. We were lucky to snag a table as it was fairly busy. Service was still pretty prompt and friendly despite being full house. The server highly recommended the bulgogi beef eggs Benedict and bulgogi beef burrito. I guessed they specialized in bulgogi beef here, or maybe it was just something different from the usual run of the mill brunch places. However the chicken and waffle caught my eye. Who could say no to fried chicken? I decided on the half order of the chicken and waffle which could be quite filling if you were not super hungry. It was sufficient for me. Luckily I did not get greedy and order the avocado croissant too. The fried chicken was not bad though not amazing. The waffle with maple syrup was really good. The star was the fruit cup. It had the most variety of fruits in it - berries, grapes, orange and more. Way better than Cora or Angelina. Coffee was refillable too. If I live nearer here, I will want to come back to try the bulgogi beef burrito and the garlic snowing pizza. They do have some not so common dishes here.

This place is a hidden gem! Everything was yummy and filling, awesome service fast and efficient! My family's second go to breakfast/brunch restaurant in this area.

Seriously this place does not cease to amaze me. I didn't realize a simple croissant-wich could be so damn good. I have zero complaints with this place. (Although an improvement could be made by getting decaf grinds for their coffee maker) Can't wait to come back

The space is a little small, so if you come during the weekend you will be waiting in line. It is totally worth the wait. One of the best brunch spots! My partner and I bother ordered a breakfast burrito, something we normally do not get. But it was just as good as any benny or breakfast platter. The wraps looked so pretty! Bulgogi Beef Burrito Scrambled eggs, sauteed onion, carrot, sweet soy marinated beef, scallion, bulgogi flake, and choice of (potato hash or fruit) Fruit extra cost. Kimchi Burrito Scrambled eggs, sauteed back bacon, jalapeno, crushed pepper, scallion, sauteed kimchi, kimchi flake and choice of (potato hash or fruit) Fruit extra cost. In the near future, I would like to come back for their lunch menu items. Everything sounds delicious as their pizza dough and sauce is made in house and their pasta has a little bit of spice which is up my alley. There is more parking at the back of the restaurant.

If you are looking for another brunch spot in the Coquitlam area Kooks Cooks is a great choice to try out! It's a small little restaurant tucked in Austin Ave. A great spot for smaller groups and families with little ones as they have a very homey feel and we saw the staff really make the young families very welcome in the restaurant by offering booth seatings and small cutlery particularly for young ones! For some of their dishes they add a bit of Korean flavours to it like the Bulgogi Beef Benedict, Kimchi Beef Burger and Sweet Potato Pizza! We ordered the Bulgogi Beef Benedict & 1/2 Chicken & Waffles. We were very much satisfied with all our dishes especially the crispy potato hash and loved the option of the half portion chicken and waffles. It was the perfect portion for two for lighter breakfast eaters like us!

Went here for an early Father's Day brunch. There was a bit of a wait but we were seated quickly. We ordered after about 5m and we're served in about 15m. The food was good and fresh. The hash browns were the best I've ever had. The burrito was tasty and my dad liked his omelette. I wish I lived closer, I'd definitely come back.

Ordered the crab and prawn pasta, chicken and waffle and the bulgogi eggs benedict. The pasta was cooked with angel hair type of pasta so it's not too thick and the texture combined with the imitation crab meat went well together. Chicken wasn't over fried and had a good amount of meat. Waffle was soft, not crispy which my wife liked. Personally I would have liked it a little more crispy. The bulgogi benedict was good.

Great brunch spot, love the Korean fusion in the dishes. The servers are very nice and would check often to see if we enjoyed our food. The offered side dishes but we didn't get it and they give free refill on your coffee. We had the bulgolgi eggs Benedict with a side of potato hash, which can I say, was made almost to perfection (just a bit on the salty side). Loved the texture and crunch, not soft and soggy at all! The savory bulgolgi paired well with the hollandaise sauce and poached eggs made perfectly. The egg white omelette was a very good option especially for people are conscious about eating cleaner (less cholesterol from egg whites then egg yolks) and our friend could not eat dairy so ordered it without cheese and she said the omelette was still great! Overall 10/10 would recommend

Great service. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. I tried the bulgogi benedict and my mom got the cinnamon french toast. Generous portions and we enjoyed the food. Would not hesitate to come here again when visiting Vancouver.

Really want to give 4 stars but there's just so many things that can be improved. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, it's mostly the owners. I avoided giving this place a try because my best friend used to work here. She said the food is actually decent but the owners are difficult. They were made to work on holidays and weren't paid extra for the holiday, instead they got some free food. (My other friend who's a waitress at another Asian owned restaurant said unfortunately that's many Asian restaurant owners). Im proud to be Asian, but this particular treatment I can't support. I was once a waitress for an Asian brunch place too and even when the customers secretly give me tips, I was often forced to put it in the "tip jar" so the owner can take most of it and we get "10%" and if the customers don't give any tips they bash on them and swear at the customers in their own languages behind their backs. Of course I left that toxic environment so I promised myself that I can't support places and owners like this. At first, my friend and her mom went in and told the owner about the reservation (but that the rest of the people are running late due to the construction nearby), she said they usually don't do reservations and that the waiter the other day made a mistake (she said unhappy that we were late). It got busy an hour later but when we got there (10minutes late) it was barely busy. I don't know what's with the attitude and it's not like it's my fault that they "made a mistake". It's on them, not the customer. Plus when we called earlier to let them know some of us are running late, the waitress who picked up the call didn't mention that "they do take reservations". Going to the food review. We came here because my family friends really wanted to meet up for brunch but we were short on time and a lot of places around had a long wait. We came here and surely they food wasn't bad at all. Some was better than the others though. Pasta was tasty but a tad too salty. The fried chicken waffle was surprisingly delicious. Not oily or heavy at all but not dry (not juicy but still very tender inside). The coffee was okay and the beer (bottled) was fine. The egg Benedict was good but I've had better. The other plates for about the same, so good but nothing memorable or a must "come back" type of experience. For the first half of our meal, one of the owner had the crappiest look like extremely unfriendly look and absolutely no smile. But when my friend started to speak Korean she started smiling a bit more and actually helped serving rather than standing there. She mostly didn't smile except towards a young white couple with a daughter. I'd say quite moody which for me, breakfast and brunch on weekends are to be peaceful and more relaxing as I'm so burnt out from work, I don't want to have bad energy on the weekends. Overall, food is decent but the energy here is odd and it's not the most convenient place if you don't drive so not my go to brunch or breakfast place.

Included is a Summer Corn salad, choice of entree, and daily dessert. I made a reservation for my Mom and I for Wednesday evening at 7pm and the restaurant was quite empty though golf course was buzzing. Pro tip: There is free parking in front of the restaurant but it's also for the golf course and is pretty busy even on a Wednesday after 7pm so plan accordingly as street parking is a bit far away. We ordered the mussels as an additional appetizer in white wine broth and also each ordered the $45 menu. We both selected the Oven Roasted Beef Striploin and for dessert there was a choice of cheesecake with caramel sauce, cinnamon cheesecake, and black forest cake. My Mom chose the black forest cake and I ordered the cinnamon cheesecake. The mussels appetizer dish was quite generous in quantity for $23 and mussels were a good size. Served with 2 slices of toast, the white wine sauce was more watery than other places but still decent. For the $45 course, the Summer Corn salad comes with artisan greens, feta, carrot, radish, tomato, red onion, orange vinaigrette. This was a refreshing light start to the meal and we both really enjoyed it. For the slow roasted beef striploin, it was served with asparagus and bell peppers, mash potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and a red wine demi. The beef striploin was lean but not tough and was super trendy and juicy. Yorkshire pudding, which I'm usually not a fan of, was really warm and soft. Overall, a really solid dish that was generous in portion. Dessert was also solid for both the cinnamon cheesecake and black forest cake. We barely finished the dessert and both of us had leftovers of our entree to take home as we couldn't finish our food. I did wish it was seasoned as the meat itself tasted bland but fresh as fish goes. Adding a bit of salt on it before dipping in the tartar sauce helped. The chips nice and crispy, soft interior and seasoned well. The coslaw was lightly dressed, I prefer a bit more dressing but it was still ok. The chowder was creamy and full of seafood. Very tasty and I probably shouldn't have gotten a full bowl as wifey couldn't help much with sharing and I was reaching capacity with the fish and chips. Ladies and gentlemen, this is best pizza to day I had outside of Italy. As part of the extended birthday celebration, my anti-carb partner indulged me to choose. Of course pizza, but which one? Vesuvio is a relatively unknown hidden pizza joint among sea of pizza franchises like Panago, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Caesar's within the 2 km radius. The flow of foot traffic at Vesuvio is steady where other eateries in the strip mall are asleep in this covid ridden time. We had the #7 carne (prosciutto and pepperoni). Let me tell you, the thickness of the crust was perfect. It's edge was thin. The sauce and cheese were in perfect balance. After four slices, and half a pizza later, I was looking for more. Great service and great price. Definitely worth it. Will be back

The only disappointment was that I sat on my moral high ground instead of just giving into my wanton desire. So far I have eaten two of their pies; Pesto Chicken (self-explanatory ingredients) and the Little Italy (classic Pepperoni). The quality and freshness of the ingredients is visual, for example the Chicken was sliced thick, easy to tell it was from a single breast piece. When you put that sort of care on their over the top good thin crust, you have a perfect combination. The Little Italy was all flavour and not greasy, so satisfying. Next time I order, pretty sure I'm going to try something with less traditional ingredients, which normally is a crap shoot, but I have faith Vesuvio can pull it off....maybe their Bianca (Zucchini, Spinach, Corn, Sun Dried Tomato and Bleu Cheese) or Quatro (Ham, Shrimp, WTF Crab!, Mushroom). Price point is beyond affordable, third party delivery was fast and efficient. Vesuvio is literally a 12/10, now my go to pizza place, 100% recommend.
