Eggs over easy were way overcooked
Karen S.

Went for brunch and the food was not very good. Let's start with the positive: it's a comfortable, understated space with high ceilings, and plenty of spacious booths. Although I saw a variety of interesting options on the brunch menu, I opted for the Classic Breakfast while my husband went for the Chorizo Power Bowl. The Classic came to the table with a large mound of deep fried potatoes (rather than "crispy hash browns" as advertised on the menu) that dwarfed everything else on the plate. The eggs--ordered over easy--were browned and leathery, cooked to medium well. A tiny scattering of cherry tomatoes were dressed with a bad pesto vinaigrette. My husband fared better than me but found the flavours bland and lifeless. Ending on a positive note: The saving grace of the experience was Sophie, the manager - she came to the table when she heard I wasn't happy with the food. Her gracious handling of the situation raised a 1* experience to a 3* experience.

Beautiful space , very light and welcoming vibe. Came in at lunch and were seated straight away , all the staff were extremely friendly. Large menu of food + drinks , plus a happy hour. We tried the nachos + chicken enchiladas. Surprisingly good enchiladas, they were flavourful and soft with just the right amount of sauce. Some of the seats have a view of the kitchen and can see the food being prepared.

We came here twice! Once for their morning happy hour and then again the next day for their 9pm happy hour. Mind you, it is the same menu, but I wanted to see the vibes for both. We got seated instantly so that is always good, and they let us know they just opened last month. Their food is solid, but I do recommend the truffle fries and the artichoke dip as those were my favorite of everything we've tried. Staff is really nice and attentive, even when it got busier. This place is a louder space at night with a DJ too. Overall, a spot to try when in the area.

tableside truffle fries HH ($11)

Went last night got a late night Happy Hour (9pm) and had a really great time! The food menu for HH was so affordable! pierogies were $5, truffle fries and artichoke dip were $11 each and the pepperoni pizza was $15! For drinks, cocktails ranged from $7-11 for HH pricing and highballs and beers were $5. They had a few drink specials going on as well. Service was a mix, some servers were absolutely a delight and cheerful and some were a bit more out of their element. There was a live DJ at the restaurant and he made the ambiance really fun and energetic and played r&b and rap music. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night and we came with a party of 30 that grew to at least 45 to celebrate a birthday. Overall it was one of the more affordable HH's ive ever been to and food was affordable and filling. Our personal favourite was the artichoke dip.

Tried their happy hour. The cheeseburger sliders we excellent and we enjoyed the truffle fries. Sushi was ok and we also ordered the Calamari which I would NOT recommend. Heavy batter and after a few bits you felt gross. Very greasy and some of the Calamari was either under or over cooked. Service was good but I don't like paying without being presented a bill.

Great happy hour and friendly staff. But they can't show the Canucks...or any any sports coverage despite having 20 tvs. Seems suspicious

My gf was in town this week so we ate out a lot. We wanted to grab some pizza close to where I live…read moreand saw Ignite Pizzeria was rated well and had a happy hour. Went at 4pm and they were not busy at all. We opted to sit outside to enjoy the remaining good weather before the winter rains. We ordered a happy hour beer (lager) for $6 and the cheese bread for an appetizer. We ordered what the waitress recommended, half meat lovers and half Montreal smoked meats. The pizza was very tasty - crispy light crust and delicious flavorful meats. The sauce wasn't overly seasoned and was just the right amount. Very good pizza and not too expensive.

The crust on the Hawaiian was a little better cooked than the other, but nothing that stops you from eating it. They have one red wine that you can get a glass of, paired nice with the pizza. Indoor and outdoor seating. It's not too big a place so seating can fill up fast. The yaletown park is right outside so great place to let kids run while you socialize Nothing too fancy, just a really good pizza place. This will be a good go-to since it's in our neighborhood.

We discovered AJ's while trying to find deep dish or Detroit pizza in Vancouver and all I want to…read moresay is that it is one of the best Detroit pizzas I have had, ever. It checks all of the boxes: thick, chewy, crispy, cheesy, saucy. One of my favorite pizzas is Detroit style pizza, which I actually discovered in Los Angeles, where I tried at no less than five different places. Most were really good, but AJ's Detroit pizza humbled all of the ones that are still there. I could have eaten half of it by myself. (The leftovers re-heated great and were just as satisfying the next day.) Note that AJ's regular pizza is great as well, but don't pass up the opportunity to enjoy their Detroit style.

A tale of two restaurants: the dine-in experience and the takeout experience aren't just polar…read moreopposites. They're at opposite ends of the solar system. Go in person. When the pizza comes straight out of that oven, piping hot and bubbly, it's an absolute revelation. Especially that Detroit style with the frico. Oh, man, is it ever good, and enough that you can cut the abrupt and often rude service some slack. Delivery from AJ's, by contrast, is one of the biggest mistakes you will ever make, as it's often painfully slow (like 90 min-2 hr slow). So, by the time your order arrives, and assuming you received the right order, it's often a lukewarm, rock hard and/or greasy mess and unrecognizable compared to what you can get dining in. For the price, you might as well light the money on fire. I haven't been back in a while because I've made it a rule not to order from here unless I have the time to physically go and eat it there. It is worth it to pay the premium for the product if you're going to consume it within a few minutes of it coming out of the oven. Otherwise, take a pass.

Woefully sub-average. It is best I can describe this place…read more Entered the place on a Monday afternoon whilst three East Indian men chillaxing in the dining area. They quickly jumped at my presence and returned to their stations as if they're caught slacking off. First idea was to order a deep dish but a few moments later upon entry I decided otherwise. I opted for 2 slices and a pop. Meatloaf and cheese. The sever didn't bother to warm them. They were dry and like old pizzas. Taste is okay/sub/average considering the price but very unlikely I will return.

Ordered two pizzas from here on Uber Eats…read more My friend and I wanted to check out the local deep dish scene, and this seemed to be one of the few places that offered it, so we decided to give it a try. I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pizzas here. They offer a variety of veggie and meat pizzas that can be made with regular crust or deep dish style. We ordered a small deep dish margharita ($19.99) and a medium deep dish butter chicken ($23.99) pizza. Both weren't true deep dish pizzas, but the crust was nice and thick. I'd recommend the pizzas here to anyone who likes a breadier crust. My only minor complaint is that the pizzas didn't have enough sauce to complement the thick crust. The pizzas kept well for leftovers too. They tasted just as good the next day heated up in our toaster oven.
