Surely on of the finest Happy Hours downtown! A beautiful restaurant, great service & warm atmosphere, this is one spot I can't wait to get back to - pronto. Central Restaurant, has been open for about a year. It was so chill to be sitting inside & the HH servings were awesome. There is a large patio as well if you want to sit outside. I believe that there is only two other locations in Canada. I'm confident there will be more locations opening up - It's that good. The Classic Slider burgers were a hit. The sushi was up to par & my Blueberry Mule was delicious. A great restaurant to escape into or to have a group party celebration. The bar is massive & the TV's provided excellent match viewing of the Fifa World Cup 2026. Come here sooner than later. read more

Hit up Central ahead of a concert and the place was popping for happy hour! Love seeing restaurants busy! We managed to sneak in a few happy hour bites and got - two sushi rolls and the pierogis. Both were yummy! The sushi rolls were slightly big but still tasty.The pierogis were really tasty, loved the bacon add on this dish. These dishes were the best of the night. Sadly I can't say the same for our main dishes. We shared the truffle mushroom and pork belly fettuccini and the calamari. The fettuccini doesn't need the pork belly, it doesn't add anything to the dish - I'd almost love to see a ham or saltier cut of meat be used for this pasta. The portion size was also alittle small for a main dish and there was just too much stuff in the pasta - it needs a good edit. The calamari was also not great, the batter is really thick and quite greasy. The flavour of the squid is entirely lost. We also noticed a lot of the dish was just fried vegetables so that felt like we weren't getting a full dish of actual calamari. The staff was lovely and the overall ambience is great for a post work pint! I think I'd come back for happy hour again but not a full meal. read more

We flew in pretty late on a Thursday, checked into our hotel, and ventured out to find food. Central was a walkable distance and was open till 12am. They had good happy hour specials from 9pm-close. My husband and I ordered Moscow mules (mine was zero proof) and it was delicious! The crispy chili salmon roll was good but the spicy California roll was just okay. I didn't expect much since it's not authentic and definitely had fusion flair. I really enjoyed the tableside dressed truffle fries. The cheeseburger was bigger than I expected and came as a double patty. The house salad was SO good and not your average side salad (you could also choose fries instead but since I was getting truffle fries, I opted for salad). Great service and ambiance! read more

First time at central. Stopped by to watch the World Cup - screens are available inside the restaurant. I went at 215 pm and found a spot at the bar easily. I got a glass of red wine and truffle fries to start. It's happy hour so the 7 oz red wine was $7 (great deal) and the table side dressed fries were $11 (just okay, a little soggy since they pour Parmesan truffle cream over it). Us office workers in the area are absolutely spoiled for choices, and it's sometimes hard to make a choice between Cactus, Earls and Joey's! Went for brunch and the food was not very good. Let's start with the positive: it's a comfortable, understated space with high ceilings, and plenty of spacious booths. Although I saw a variety of interesting options on the brunch menu, I opted for the Classic Breakfast while my husband went for the Chorizo Power Bowl. The Classic came to the table with a large mound of deep fried potatoes (rather than "crispy hash browns" as advertised on the menu) that dwarfed everything else on the plate. The eggs--ordered over easy--were browned and leathery, cooked to medium well. A tiny scattering of cherry tomatoes were dressed with a bad pesto vinaigrette. My husband fared better than me but found the flavours bland and lifeless. Ending on a positive note: The saving grace of the experience was Sophie, the manager - she came to the table when she heard I wasn't happy with the food. Beautiful space , very light and welcoming vibe. Came in at lunch and were seated straight away , all the staff were extremely friendly. Large menu of food + drinks , plus a happy hour. We tried the nachos + chicken enchiladas. Surprisingly good enchiladas, they were flavourful and soft with just the right amount of sauce. We came here twice! Once for their morning happy hour and then again the next day for their 9pm happy hour. Mind you, it is the same menu, but I wanted to see the vibes for both. We got seated instantly so that is always good, and they let us know they just opened last month. Their food is solid, but I do recommend the truffle fries and the artichoke dip as those were my favorite of everything we've tried. Staff is really nice and attentive, even when it got busier. This place is a louder space at night with a DJ too. Overall, a spot to try when in the area. read more

Went last night got a late night Happy Hour (9pm) and had a really great time! The food menu for HH was so affordable! pierogies were $5, truffle fries and artichoke dip were $11 each and the pepperoni pizza was $15! For drinks, cocktails ranged from $7-11 for HH pricing and highballs and beers were $5. They had a few drink specials going on as well. Service was a mix, some servers were absolutely a delight and cheerful and some were a bit more out of their element. There was a live DJ at the restaurant and he made the ambiance really fun and energetic and played r&b and rap music. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night and we came with a party of 30 that grew to at least 45 to celebrate a birthday. Overall it was one of the more affordable HH's ive ever been to and food was affordable and filling. Our personal favourite was the artichoke dip. read more

Tried their happy hour. The cheeseburger sliders we excellent and we enjoyed the truffle fries. Sushi was ok and we also ordered the Calamari which I would NOT recommend. Heavy batter and after a few bits you felt gross. Very greasy and some of the Calamari was either under or over cooked. Just opened 2 weeks ago and decided to stop by for their Happy Hour at 4 pm. Place was fairly busy as there were Locals who work in the area stopping by to meet coworkers or friends. I can best describe this as a notch below the vibe at a Cactus Club. Menu has similar but yet different items. Ordered one of their draft citrus IPAs and their pepperoni pizza. Pizza was a decent size and no complaints there. Definitely it not a place to bring a first date as at 4 pm on a Tuesday, noise level was very loud. I noticed that they have a covered patio which might be quieter for conversations. Definitely a place for a bunch of guys and gals who just want to catch up and add to the decibel level. Have been twice for happy hour, cute retro vibes, been seated in the back room in the booths. Their pineapple jalapeño margarita is so good. We tried a few items from their menu, when they had initially opened and you could tell, the servers were still figuring things out. My friend said her pasta did not taste right. We got the table side dressed truffle fries, it was all over social when they opened, more hype than any truffle flavor. Also shared the crispy chili salmon roll which was tasty. Also got the chicken bowl, wouldn't get that again, lacked flavor. Prefer the spicy marg cocktail over their food. Central Restaurant at Bentall in Vancouver was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we sat down, the service was outstanding our waiter Sam was fantastic. He was easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and gave excellent recommendations that truly elevated our experience. The food was incredible. The lemon pepper calamari was easily one of the best I've had anywhere in both the U.S. and Canada--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Every appetizer Sam recommended was spot on. The drinks were just as impressive. The Strawberry + Lychee Popping Soda was unbelievably refreshing and unique. For dessert, Sam surprised us with freshly cut strawberries served with chocolate sauce, which was a thoughtful and perfect ending to the meal. Because of this experience, my wife and I would genuinely come back to Canada just to have another amazing night here. Exceptional service, incredible food, and great atmosphere. Not only did he take the time to get to know us, asking questions about our travels and our trip so far. But he also was so helpful in suggesting different menu items to try and just had an overall amazing personality.
