I've been giving out a lot of 5 stars recently, but this is a place that really deserves it. It's a must visit. It'd been many moons since I had escargot, so I got it. Despite one cooked snail being basically impossible to scrape out and my fine motor dexterity isn't great, it was delightful. My wife loved her seafood stew. Our shared side of the grilled Zucchini (definitely enough to share) was also a highlight. We've been raving about our fried clam sandwich and lobster roll since. Both were amazing; my wife said it was the best lobster roll she's had (we've never been to maine or anywhere known for lobster). The dessert passion fruit pie was a great way to end, also shared, but the crust was a little too thick and the dollop on top did kind of over power the curd. The birthday sprinkles (it wasnt either of our birthdays) were cute. We will be back. Especially to try the raw bar (We're pregnant and didnt want to risk it).

The ambience is very cute - there are multiple floors to the restaurant so one given area doesn't feel overly crowded. The cocktail menu has some fun and unique options and the food menu has something for everyone! We got the mussels to start, and honestly I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. But the sauce was delicious and I loved the potatoes that came with it. The mussels themselves were very large too! For my main I got the hake, which was so tender and flavorful. It was a generous portion and I was stuffed, but we kept seeing other people order the coffee cake and couldn't help ourselves. I'm so glad we got it, because I'm not normally huge into coffee cake, but this was so delicious that we finished it all! Our server had great recommendations and was patient as we took a long time deciding what to order. I can't wait to come back!

Let's dive right in -- this trip was all about the crab cakes…read more I consider myself a connoisseur of delicious crab cakes. I've had them everywhere there is to have them, and somehow I'm just now discovering Koco's. Well, let me tell you -- this is the winning spot. There are a lot of good, even great, crab cakes around town, but Koco's is 100% in a league of its own. I usually enjoy my crab cake with crackers, maybe a little bread on the side. Not here. Skip the bread. Skip the filler. This crab cake stands all by itself. Outrageously delicious. Off the scale. The kind of crab cake that makes you stop talking for a minute because you're too busy appreciating what just happened. And it's not just the food. From the second you walk in, you're treated kindly -- not only by the staff, but even by the folks sitting down enjoying their meals. The whole place just has that great local, welcoming feel. I also can't leave out the French fries. They are off the charts too. A true 3/8 straight-cut fry -- not those crispy coated carnival/stadium fries that seem to be taking over everywhere these days. Real fries. Done right. There is no better crab cake to be had. If you're going to go big, go hungry. You will leave HAPPY!!!!!!!

On the hunt to try some of Baltimore's best crab cakes, I'm late to the party for Kocos. However,…read morebetter late than never. Given Koco's crab cake platter during their dinner service will set you back about $50, I've been hesitant to spend that amount of money for just one 8oz. crab cake. So I decided to give them a try during their lunch hours where you can get a 6oz. crab cake platter for about $30. I ordered in advance and popped into the brightly colored, tropical themed restaurant which was bustling on a Friday afternoon. My pickup was quick and the service was nice. I of course had to sneak a few fries while on my ride home, and they were perfectly crisp and well seasoned. Once I made it home I dived into the beautifully broiled crab cake and I immediately understood why Koco's is know as one of best crab cakes in the area. Full of lump crab meat, seasoned to perfection, and not wet in the center. All things I consider in a good crab cake. Now that I've had a taste of Koco's I'll definitely be saving a few coins to splurge a little for a crab cake.

The host was on his A game with seating, phone calls, and pick-up orders while joking with guests waiting for a table. The cream of crab is unlike any I have had. It was very zesty without having too much bite. I had to stir the caesar salad to equalize the flavors and it was very slightly underwhelming. But I would prefer underwhelming to overwhelming and it worked well with the cajun flavorings of the grilled shrimp entree I ordered. The shrimp came with cocktail sauce and a lemon wedge. All together it was nice. The collard greens consisted of full leaves and was good but not the best I have had. However I cannot figure out what it was missing because I'm bad at cooking collards myself. My wife ordered a Colins burger with bacon and fries. They gave her a generous amount of bacon but it was just like a burger at any other restaurant. The fries are the kind that pair well with condiments like ketchup or mayonnaise. I would recommend this place, especially the cream of crab. I plan to go back and taste more of their menu.

There is a table outside that you could sit at. With my double broiled crab platter, I also had potato salad. It could have used a hit of old bay or paprika to set it off. The crab cakes were ok. No filler, but not enough seasonings. You really do get a nice lump of a crab cake, but I would have preferred it to be more moist. I did get a side of tarter and cocktail sauce. The tartar sauce is homemade I think. I would have enjoyed it with more pickle juice and pickle and again a hit of paprika or old bay would really set it off. I recommend if you're not craving highly seasoned food, but tasty and well prepared.
