    Large male crabs

Second time ordering from this place and both were great experiences! Staff was friendly over the phone and in person. Ordered a dozen large male crabs, 2 pounds of snow crab legs, and 2 corns for two people. The snow crab legs included regular melted butter as well. We did order garlic butter on the side too, but realized it wasn't included until we got home. Fortunately, the one regular butter ended up being sufficient enough for us anyway. The crabs were great! A decent size for large. I think next time I'd go for XL if I wanted to splurge. Both the crabs and snow crab legs were super heavily seasoned with old bay, which coming from a Marylander - was seasoned just right. You'll get a text when the order is ready, which I like, so you're not there sitting in the parking lot waiting. Speaking of parking lot, it can get a bit crazy crowded when it's busy. But luckily we were in and out quickly! Would definitely order again whenever I'm craving crabs.

In January where do you go for crabs? Blake's! Got 1/2 bushel small/meds females and packed and heavy! Absolutely did not disappoint! Very delicious and consistent. I know where to get crabs from here on out!

Came here for some crabs as they were one of a few crab houses still selling crabs in January. The line was busy, but got through and placed an order for 1 dz. females for $45 and got 1/2 dz. free. The drive was a straight shot for me coming over East Baltimore to Erdman Ave. Once there, I gave them my name and my crabs were ready for pickup. The staff were pleasant. The decor of the store was nothing to write home about, but I came for the crabs not the ambiance of the establishment as it was carry out only. They also sold steamed shrimp, corn on the cob and even paper to eat your crabs on! Once home, the crab were a nice size and weight. The seasoning was not overly salty and the crabs were steamed perfectly. All on all, a good place to purchase steamed crabs. Will be putting them in my rotation of crab houses to visit from now on.

So when I come to b'more from Jersey I HAVE to get blue crabs...like who wouldn't?! Lol I typically go to another location, which I still like, but wanted to try something new. I saw Blake's as it wasn't far from my hotel (Embassy Suites-which I recommend). I pulled up and stepped out of the car in heaven...old bay filled my nose! Boy the crowd coming out and going in was a stamp my yelp passport! I ordered a dozen large males. After about a 10minute wait, I'd arrived near closing, the owner informed me they only had 6 large crabs, but gave me 6 extra large crabs AND two cons of corn with no difference in the price. When I tell you these suckas were heavy! Sooo good! I are three and had to sit back a minute. Next time you're in town...definitely try them!

Now keep in mind. This is a carry out spot. Seasoned crabs. Shrimps are pretty good. It's a good spot for grabbing crabs to chill at home.

The crab cake absolutely lived up to its reputation--packed with large, sweet pieces of crab meat and very little filler. It was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light. I finally understood why Maryland is so proud of its crab cakes. The Maryland Crab Soup was hearty and comforting, with plenty of vegetables and crab flavor. The Seafood Combo was generous and perfect for sharing after a long day of exploring the city. The restaurant was busy but well organized, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. After lunch, we took a short walk to Fells Point and spent the afternoon exploring the neighborhood, which made it a perfect Baltimore experience. I've been giving out a lot of 5 stars recently, but this is a place that really deserves it. It's a must visit. It'd been many moons since I had escargot, so I got it. Despite one cooked snail being basically impossible to scrape out and my fine motor dexterity isn't great, it was delightful. My wife loved her seafood stew. Our shared side of the grilled Zucchini (definitely enough to share) was also a highlight. We've been raving about our fried clam sandwich and lobster roll since. Both were amazing; my wife said it was the best lobster roll she's had (we've never been to maine or anywhere known for lobster). The dessert passion fruit pie was a great way to end, also shared, but the crust was a little too thick and the dollop on top did kind of over power the curd. The birthday sprinkles (it wasnt either of our birthdays) were cute. We will be back. Especially to try the raw bar (We're pregnant and didnt want to risk it).

The ambience is very cute - there are multiple floors to the restaurant so one given area doesn't feel overly crowded. The cocktail menu has some fun and unique options and the food menu has something for everyone! We got the mussels to start, and honestly I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. But the sauce was delicious and I loved the potatoes that came with it. The mussels themselves were very large too! For my main I got the hake, which was so tender and flavorful. It was a generous portion and I was stuffed, but we kept seeing other people order the coffee cake and couldn't help ourselves. I'm so glad we got it, because I'm not normally huge into coffee cake, but this was so delicious that we finished it all! Our server had great recommendations and was patient as we took a long time deciding what to order. I can't wait to come back!

We ordered the small raw seafood tower, the steamed seafood platter, and the lobster pasta from the large plates section. We are a family of four with a pretty big appetite, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Everything was delicious and incredibly fresh. The raw tower came with cocktail sauce, mignonette, horseradish, and lemon slices, and the steamed platter was served with melted butter and nicely seasoned spices. There was also hot sauce and Old Bay seasoning on the table so you could customize everything to your taste. Once the seafood arrived we got fully busy with our hands and all the tools provided, which honestly made the whole experience even more fun. I genuinely cannot pick a favorite because we enjoyed every single thing we ordered. I also tried the Orange Crush, which I learned is a Maryland vodka drink made with freshly crushed fruit juice. That drink was dangerous because it tasted just like orange juice, but the vodka definitely sneaks up on you. Since we were celebrating, dessert was on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cast iron baked cookie with salted caramel ice cream and it was the perfect ending to the meal. The cookie was crispy around the edges, soft and moist in the middle, and the slight saltiness from the ice cream paired so well with it. Our server, Lylah, was wonderful and made sure we always had everything we needed throughout the meal. This ended up being such a memorable dinner for our family.
