Hubby is a beer snob and this is one of the only place to get local microbrews in Playa, so it was inevitable we made it here. We stopped by for Happy Hour for a friend's birthday and only had drinks. Hubby enjoyed the APA and I, the non-beer drinker, actually really liked their Jamaica Gose. We love searching out local breweries, taprooms, and craft beer bars. So glad we found this one in Playa del Carmen. Great little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. They have fourteen tap handles of which nine were being used when we were there. We ordered a flight of beers during happy hour and four tasters were only $100 pesos; a great deal! Nice brewery stop on Calle 38 near the beach. Our server, Jehu was wonderful, but there was a crabby girl walking around the place with her arms crossed (I think she worked there-but don't quote me) that attitude rolled off. The Flan was awesome! Limonada Mineral for the non-drinker. read more

This spot is one of the only local breweries. Has amazing beers highly recommend stopping here and stocking up on beer before hitting up the beaches. The food is good but missing something. I would mot consider it a place for dinnerS it's missing something. Servixe is amazing , the dudes here know their beer and the area. Great spot to come in for a beer and just vibe with the workers . Ambiance has that jungle vibe and I wish they would play music to go along with that. 10/10 vibe read more

We came here 3-4 times during our stay on this very cute, hippie chic, street. They are apparently starting a new *vegan* menu this weekend! We wanted to try a microbrewery and this place popped up just a few blocks away. It's pretty new - only open 4/5 months. They're on a beautiful shady street just off 5th, but it feels miles away from the crazy. You can sit inside in the AC but we opted for the dreamy patio complete with a tiny ceynote. Know that happy hour is from 11-6 with large beers (1\2L) for the small beer price of 60pesos. If you like IPAs, ales etc you will like these! Non beer drinkers will enjoy a tasty cocktail list - I had a jalapeño marg that was literally fire and a delicious "tea" cocktail. Don't pass up the food - we had a giant mound of fresh guacamole, tasty tacos (try the adobada, camarones and pulpo) and delicious churros. Prices are reasonable and everything was delicious! Shoutout to the wonderful Shannon for making our time here great! Definitely worth seeking this place out. read more

Great place to get local beers in Playa del Carmen. A little off the Avenida 5 is Akumal, a clean and well lit bar that serves up local beers and cocktails as well as tacos. It is a great place to go for food and drink if you want an air conditioned place to sit but don't want to go to Senor Frogs. The staff pretty much only speaks Spanish and we were only offered a Spanish menu, which in my book are good things. My husband had a very cold and delicious beer. I had a gin cocktail with muddled strawberries and apricots. So refreshing. We were there with our (young) kids, and they brought out extra muddled fruit when my son whined that he wanted it (I wouldn't share as it was all gin-infused at that point) as well as soda. The bathroom was quite clean too, just in case you were wondering. read more

Absolutely 5 stars. This gem is tucked away just off of 5th on a quiet, shaded avenue. The brews are locally made and the love and care really comes through - delicious! I was a big fan of their custom cocktails, too - especially the gin and chamomile tea concoction. The shady patio is the perfect place to spend an afternoon (there's even a happy hour) with friends. Hungry? They got you. The guacamole was a killer and we shared a variety of tacos...my favorite being the shrimp. This is the kind of local spot I really crave while traveling - one you want to keep going back to and supporting because it's so darn good and the people are so nice. Go here! The beer is actually quite good. The setting is nice as it sits on 38th with a great patio and literally on a sinkhole which is quite cool. The APA is a quality choice, especially during happy hour which runs 12p-5pm. During happy hour you'll get a full pint for the price of a half-pint on most of the beers (not the IPA). read more

We found local beer!! Actually by accident, we saw a street sign and followed it. We're suckers for craft beer. They have happy hour form 11-6 and beers go from 100 pesos to 60! I got the session IPA and my fiancé got the kolsh. Both a welcoming taste from the standard Mexican beers served everywhere else. Their tacos are also delicious. Underwhelming. $150 for a so called mojito that tastes like lemonade. Asked for no sugar and it was quite sweet. I speak Spanish like a native so language was not a barrier at all.
