This place is really cute and I was impressed with what they did with the space. The ambiance is really nice and they did a good job with the decor. The service was great and wait staff were all very pleasant. Most of the food was really good For starters, The salsas/ dips to go with the chips are so flavorful! Our group tried a few different things to share for dinner. Portions are large, so make sure you come hungry! The California burrito and the inside out rellanos were both delicious. The only item that was a little disappointing was the spicy drunk chicken. It was more salty than anything and the spice was hard to enjoy through all the salt. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Thursday and were surprised only the bar and one table were left for seating. The food choices offered an upscale vibe and both our picks were excellent. The portions were generous and noticed many guests leaving with to-go boxes. We did not try the margaritas but intend to try the house version on our next visit. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent food. Some of the best mole I've ever had. Their habanero hot sauce is delicious. Food came out hot and everything must be made from scratch. Super clean inside and gorgeous decor. Some kinks to work out, like food delivered to wrong table or delivered without silverware. Seems the staff is learning table numbers. Waited a bit for food but not so long that we were annoyed. Food was good. Chicken tortilla soup was very good. Steak fries and chicken flaunts were good but would try something different next time. The check took a while to arrive after to go boxes, easily more than 20 minutes, but the restaurant was very busy. We'll be back for another try. read more

We love Chelo's! The food is wonderful - the chorizo queso, street tacos, flautas, etc. are all amazing. We haven't tried something we didn't like! As a tequila snob, I can say the drinks are top notch (and strong). As Timnath residents, we're so happy to have a local Mexican restaurant with great food and drinks! Great location, convenient being close to home. The vibe and ambiance were fantastic, and the service was incredible. The food was above average, but the margarita was a big letdown. We ordered a classic margarita on the rocks, It looked beautiful, but it was too sweet and tangy, and had an odd flavor. My husband and I both love margaritas and usually have two each, but we couldn't drink the margaritas we ordered. We'll stick with our regular spot in Windsor, though it's always nice to try somewhere new. read more

I'm baffled reading the reviews for this new restaurant we were so excited for. First of all, the service was below average. The margaritas were good, but $14 for a house margarita is insane. The tortillas were very good, but the beans are about a 6.5 and the steak was below average. If you can't do the steak and beans really well at a Mexican restaurant, you may as well keep your doors closed. My wife and I have been to 7-8 Mexican restaurants in the area and I think we would both rate this last. read more

went for lunch with a friend. Found lots of good options on the menu. I ordered a quesadilla and my friend ordered a burrito. Both were very flavorful. Good presentation and hot food. Service was good as well. portions and price reasonable. I do have a recommendation for the restaurant. The restaurant has limited nearby parking and while I was waiting for my friend, I noticed two staff members park immediately in front of the entry door taking up spaces that should be reserved for customers. There is no handicap spot so I would think that employees should not take up valuable spots in an already difficult parking area. As you enter you notice next to the front counter that there are some miscellaneous items stored including randomly tossed employee jackets. Seems like there should be a better place for such items. The menu that was presented to me also had food stains on it which was not in the least bit appetizing. The restaurant has spent substantial money on decor and meal planning and I am certain they want to be recognized as more than a simple Taqueria. They have a good product, but attention to detail is important. I will be going back. I hope that they can improve on some of the things that do affect their image. read more

The chips and salsa were tasty and we would have liked more if the server would have come back. They also didn't have draft beer the day we went. Overall, The pork was dry, veggie fajitas lacked seasoning, and the other two meals which I can't remember, were just that- unmemorable. Other people's food and drinks looked better than ours. The food was good. We had fajitas, steak and shrimp. The steak was on the chewy side but the shrimp was amazing. I would swear it was gulf shrimp. Service was fabulous. Hugo is a great asset.
