Was really excited to eat here since the reviews looked bomb. But it might just be another case of the bar just being really low in foco. My gf ordered Al pastor and carnitas tacos and I ordered a birria torta, I was starving and even then, the first bite was pretty mid at best. As I went on, it lost all flavor and the birria was basically water. (This is supposed to look like Motor oil!!!) What a nice surprise in Ft. Collins! Located in a strip mall right by Walmart the location is deceiving. Restaurant dining room is bright, clean and family friendly. Homemade chips and salsa were excellent. Refried beans were very tasty and also homemade (and you know I tend to judge Mexican restaurants by their refried beans). Chicken chili relleno was very good and the chicken enchilada had a superb flavor. My companion had birria tacos which she enjoyed very much. We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered the establishment. Our waitress was prompt, attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. Unfortunately we did not save room for flan. It was my first time visiting Fort Collins and I'm so glad this was the first restaurant we tried. What really made me want to come here was their Diablo Oysters. They were topped with something similar to ceviche and I'm so glad I got to try them. They were so bomb. Perfect amount of spiciness. I honestly wanted to order a dozen but there were other dishes I wanted to try too. I also got the Carne Asada Enchiladas with green sauce and that dish was super good. My boyfriend ordered a torta. It was pretty good too and really filling. They have daily drink specials too. We came on a Sunday and it was 2 for 1 margaritas for $9. The drink was strong and glasses were big, so definitely worth it. Wish we had a spot like this back home. I'd 100% come back. read more

The tostadas de ceviche had so much flavor! The Al Pastor and Asada tacos with the chicken skewers were both very good. The quesabirria tacos were delicious, and if they could be made extra crispy for a nice crunch, they would be absolutely perfect. Last but not least, the churro dessert plate was the cherry on top and a great way to finish the meal. Not overpowering at all, and the churro and ice cream combination melts in your mouth. When I pulled into the WalMart parking lot I wondered if I had made a wrong turn. Nope. Tucked into the corner of a quiet strip center was a fabulous Mexican Restaurant. My server was very pleasant and presented me with chips and salsa to go along with a very tasty house margarita. She recommended the Quesabirrias, three corn tortilla tacos smothered in red sauce and filled with cheese, Birria, onions, and cilantro. The plate also included refried beans, Mexican rice, and consume (great for dipping the tacos or just eating like soup). There were so many other great items on the menu but I was only in town for one night and I live 1,173 miles away. Darn it! The word has been getting around about this place and after seeing that they have a Birria RAMEN, I knew we had to check it out. We went around noon on a Monday and it was quiet inside with a steady stream of folks coming in to pick up take out orders. Service was very slow, but we weren't in a rush. We started with their Monday specials - house margs and draft beer for $5. Complimentary chips and salsa, as well as a spicy avocado crema were brought out and inhaled. I got the Birriamen which was full of hot, rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles and a heaping amount of meat. My husband got one of the enchiladas covered in a red sauce and loved it. We plan on going back to try some of their sizzling fajita plates that were coming out of the kitchen door. Highly recommend with a dose of patience for the service. read more

They give you two options for dipping the sturdy free chips; one is a mild, standard salsa, and the other is like liquid guacamole. Both are enjoyable; neither will leave your mouth burning. My beef enchilada with red sauce was very good. A tostada with chicken was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. My wife was unimpressed by her burrito with green sauce. The rice and beans were fine. We came in on Labor Day, and they had maybe 4 tables upon our arrival . We were greeted with a warm "Hola" and were sat immediately. Our waitress Daph was not only friendly. knowledgeable, full of great recommendations(out first time here), she was also very attentive,in spite of the restaurant getting full with in 25min of us being there. We had a spicy/chamoy mango margarita that was delicious. we also had a michelada, which let me tell you these are usually a miss in most Mexican restaurants. But here It's a must!. We had a house margaritas that was very refreshing. For dinner based on Daphs recommendations, we ordered the fried tilapia with diablo sauce on the side. The tilapia was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside soft in the inside. The diablo sauce has a little kick to it, making it the perfect addition. We also ordered the quesabirrias very yummy. The broth is the star of the plate. For dessert, we shared the flan, which was soft, creamy, and delightful, we paired it with a carajillo, that for my taste was a little strong. Had one covered with red sauce and green sauce. The red sauce was more flavorful. Beans were cold, cheese on top did not melt. Rice included corn and some peas. Good tasting. Husband had 2 cheese enchiladas. The cheese wasn't hot enough to give you that ooey gooey cheese. He chose one red and one green as well. He favored the red as well. He asked for spicy salsa.. the waitress gave him some habanero and HOT! He didn't try the chili oil they also gave him. He dotted all his food with the habanero sauce. The coconut daiquiri was delicious and was a perfect blend! The entrees were tasty and priced fairly. We especially enjoyed the chile rellenos and enchiladas! The El Diablo salad was a stand out also. Our favorite parts of the meal were the dip and salsa served with the chips. Had a soul satisfying bowl of Shrimp soup... the shrimp (about 20 medium size) were sweet, fresh & tender... the perfectly diced potatoes & carrots were packed with the dried shrimp based broth... there was also a whole diced avocado & the usual cilantro, white onion & lime garnishes. Also, had a tasty birria taco (although the soup was hearty enough without it)... and am embarrassed to admit I ate a whole basket of their rustic, nutty, thick chips. In Mexico, we don't normally eat much tortilla chips... but when we do they are exactly the way El Diablo makes them... and their salsas (albeit on the mild side) are on point (tonight there was an avocado salsa & a tomato-puya molcajete sauce). Chased it all with a crisp Negra Modelo... they had just gotten a keg of local IPA, but it wasn't ready to pour yet... maybe next time. Finally, Ramses was beyond friendly & enthusiastic about the food & bringing more authentic representation of Mexican food to the Fort Collins area... can't think of a better place to support. read more

The food wasn't bad my husband ordered a mojarra frita and it looked to burned like they refried it twice and it was soo dry. The agua frescas the piña and tamarindo were super super sweet! There was no bus boy (it would help them a lot) , but I did see one lady clearing tables and serving food as well... place seemed overwhelm, but was not to capacity or half way full for that matter! I ordered a frozen margarita, it came out on the rocks (tasted worse than ranch water) , my husband said he'd drink it, so we didn't have to send it back... so I asked for a frozen one and something with ice chunks came out and tasted just as bad... my husband couldn't stomach his after all and we returned both. By the time we did get the food, dealt with a yucky margarita fiasco, we didn't expect it took over 10 additional minutes just to pay the tab!! Yes, I had to get the managers attention myself!! Food was pretty good. Tried a birria and relleno, taste good. House marg decent though I don't think much tequila in it. My problem was we had coupon for buy one get one entree. Entrees $18+, but they wouldnt take coupon because we did the 2/1 marg for mens night. Not good business. I saved $5 on marg instead of $18 off. Won't go back.
