I say safest because many of the other spots I've toured around have some pretty suspicious looking folks hovering around. They always have machines open and they just got all new dryers installed. The only tricky part about this place is there is not much parking. There are about 4 spots up front and limited parking in back. There's usually at least one spot open. Machines are pay by quarters, which I prefer since cards are not accepted universally.

Instead of marking the hem all the way around on her so that it would be level, they marked it only in the front and hemmed it the same amount all the way around. This does not work on three dimensional people! I work with clothes for a living and have never seen anyone hem a dress like this. It's an insane way to go about marking a hem. When she put it back on after they altered it, it was too short in the back and way too short on the sides. They jerked me around the several times I visited them trying to at least get the fabric they had cut off the hem back so that I could repair the dress. Then when my mother came with me and put the dress on to show them (fourth visit dealing with this issue), they refused to admit that there was a problem with the hem, and therefore refused to refund her money. They insisted that they could solve it's being "too short" by lowering the hem all the way around by 1", which would have made it much too long in the front. They would not admit that they had done it incorrectly, just kept insisting that this is how they always hem dresses. Also, since they cut the excess hem out when they altered it and then threw the fabric away, when we let the hem down and re-hem it correctly at home, we will have to piece in some other fabric so that there's enough to turn up for a decent hem, which is needed on this type of skirt. Long story short: Don't give this lady your money or any item of clothing that you care about. She'll refuse to refund your money or take any responsibility for her mistakes. She takes advantage of nice people like my mother who are timid about speaking their mind, and cuts corners that result in shoddily completed work.

I appreciate their thoroughness and attention to detail in making multiple efforts re-treating the area until the garment is as good as new. Obviosuly, if you're reading this review you should understand that not everything can come out but Pete's Cleaners usually beats the toughest challenges. In the rare instance they're unable to completely get something out they're transparent in their communication although I can personally attest that whatever soiling is still there will be hardly noticeable even to the most discerning eye. These are truly experts in their craft and I've been extremely delighted with their level of work for nearly 10 years. The last thing I'll say is that even their skill in pressing my suits and sports jackets is head and shoulders above the competition. Unlike places that may press it completely flat, Pete's properly left a nice roll on my lapel.
