This reviewer had great service since the 90s. Then last year suddenly the key staff was fired (new owner) and suddenly the experience plummeted. Bank card was scanned multiple times to the point where the blank closed the account and issued a new card. Payment was a challenge for three months.
From that day to the very end, the entry code stopped working. They never did get it to work again and used a temporary code for many months.
After more than eight years of business, I would think a courtesy comment about DOUBLING the rates and not getting a refund would have been a good customer service style. The last payment was even done on the phone with a real person and not a word about a change of the rent amount or deposit refund issues.
There was no attempt to mediate, show concern about the deposit, and certainly no reflection of the prior office staff and owner/manager. If they had made a friendly call or sent a note, they would have actually made more money than keeping the deposit, where there would have been an immediately vacant unit, ready for double the rate.
After two letters, three calls and over two months, $2 of $20 lock deposit was received. Keeping the lock, and avoiding any contact with these people and all the lost sleep would have been a much better investment. Pursuing a case in court may not have reached as many people as an online review so this seemed like the best solution to the bad customer relation experience.
The biggest problem was the staffing changes. From one person who knew everyone and treated the operation like a well-oiled machine, with many happy customers to many staff changes and different office people coming and creating more chaos. Every time a call was made the story had to be retold about online payment problems and enduring the patience with people who didn't know how to run the business. To finish off the months of bad vibes with almost no return on deposit, letter, or thanks for the business was about the lowest a business could go.
