I have called Citrus Tower Family Dental several times, talking to the "office manager" repeatedly about receiving a credit for the balance of the $10,000 he paid in advance, as he did not finish his treatment plan. She kept telling me she is "looking into it and will get back to me." No return call from her was ever received. After a month of waiting for some kind of response, I finally went in-person to their location in Clermont. The girls behind the counter had no idea how to help me and went to talk to the office manager. After waiting 30 minutes, the "office manager" finally came out and gave me the same runaround again; I'm researching that, etc. Still waiting 45 minutes later and No Answer as to what credit is due me. After putting me off for the third time, I directly asked the "office manager" how hard is it to print out his account and give it to me? She told me refunds are handled by their corporate office in another state. I asked for their number and after first refusing she finally, FINALLY gave me the corporate number and a printout of the refund due as I requested. No wonder she was balking at helping me; the refund due was almost $5,000! Thank God the person at their corporate office was willing and able to help me finally get this resolved. She apologized profusely for the lack of customer service I had received, promised to get my refund sent out as soon as possible, and gave me her direct number to reach her if I didnt receive it within two weeks. She was very compassionate and empathetic of our situation. I can't vouch for the care you get from the dental staff, but I can say that the office staff is Clueless re: customer service! The corporate office agreed I should have never had to go through this to get a refund that was due me. After a review with Delta Dental, I was informed that my maximum out-of-pocket expense for a crown is $250.00. During a three-way call on April 17, 2025, with Delta Dental, Kyrie, and myself, Delta Dental confirmed that any lab fees or other charges are not the patient's responsibility. Following that discussion, Kyrie provided me with a corrected estimate that reflected the proper amount. Upon further review, however, Delta Dental identified two instances in which I was overcharged for crowns: On or around July 7, 2023, I was charged $565 under Code D2749 for a Cerecified Crown post. On or around June 30, 2023, I was charged $775 for another crown. Based on the $250 maximum out-of-pocket amount, this results in an overpayment of $870. Please note that the exact dates may be slightly off, as the detailed statement of charges and payments from January 1, 2023, to July 14, 2025, contained some inconsistencies across pages. No matter how good your teeth are, they push the gum cleaning treatment that isn't covered by the insurance and want "routine maintenance" cleanings every 3 months. When I say push I mean PUSH. If you show any hesitation, they try and guilt you into thinking your teeth will fall out if you don't. They gave my wife the same treatment and she's never had a cavity. Looking at the other reviews, it seems to be a common practice. I had done this treatment about 4 years ago and it was about $150 out of pocket bc insurance wouldn't cover it. I came back today to have my teeth cleaned so I took X-rays and they said I had no new cavities. Find out that the hygienist called out after X-rays and won't be getting my teeth cleaned. But Dr Vu made sure to come in and push the same stupid gum treatment plan with 3 month checkups but now instead of $150 out of pocket, it would be $600. They also tried to push some mouth cancer treatment screening too (also not covered by insurance). I pushed back saying I just want what my insurance covers and after a back and forth, she said "if you don't want to do the treatments, then this location isn't for you. ". She's got that right!! I was always skeptical of her before and this was the icing on the cake if I should change dentists. Good riddance!
