The administration in the front office promptly scheduled an appointment, which surprised me considering how busy they were. Within 2 seconds of sitting in the chair the dental assistant determined it was a filling and not something more serious. I was immediately relieved I didn't chip a tooth or god knows what else. Despite being an adult, I'm afraid of needles in my mouth - (I've had bad experiences at other dentist and can remember how painful some of the injections were) but when Dr. Van administrated the numbing injection I didn't feel a thing and she talked me through it the entire 5 seconds. If it was publicly acceptable to shed a tear over something like that I would have on the spot. She had me out the door in less than an hour and the quality + care I received was great like it's always been at their office - (when I went to the dentist 2x a year like I'm supposed to) I also don't have insurance but the bill was still affordable and I'd be 3x as much for their care if I had to. I will never go to a different dentist for as long as their establishment is ran by Dr. Van and her team. Thank you for the painless, efficient and amazing treatment!

I found this odd, as the information was clearly provided on the insurance card I had given them, and it only takes me about 5 minutes to get the same information when I call the same number on the insurance card and it was also stated plenty of times what insurance it was. I even had everything printed out and ready for them, which i thought they were grateful to have it. I proceeded with my appointment, and I was told that I could not get a cleaning due to a gum disease, and that I needed treatment, even though I had no issues or pain in my mouth. I went along with it, and they gave me an estimate of $291-$575, stating that my insurance only covered $10. I told them that couldn't be right and asked them to double-check with my insurance. Instead of double-checking, I got a sassy and rude receptionist who asked me if I knew how to read the codes and the estimate. I told them I just wanted them to confirm with my insurance, as I had provided the benefits, and I knew that some of it was covered. I was done at this point, so I took the paper and left, saying I would call my insurance myself. When I called my insurance, they told me that they covered most of it, bringing the cost down to around $60-$80. I then called the receptionist back, with my insurance on the line, and he seemed surprised and a bit defensive. He said he would send me a new, updated estimate, but I never received it. I definitely won't be going back to this place. And by the way, it's not a law that they can't clean my teeth due to gum disease- they need to make sure they are stating the correct information to patients.Tehe correct way to say it is that they refuse to clean not that its the law. When I arrived at my appointment I was…read moretold by the (2) two people at the front counter the dollar amount I was to be charged, with a complete breakdown of costs associated with my treatment. I asked the front desk if this would be a covered procedure through my insurance and they advised it would not be, so I paid CASH ($1826.00). They did say that they could try to file it with my insurance and if anything was covered, I would receive a refund check, most likely from the practice. I agreed and had the treatment completed by Dr. Ryan Brennan, which was 5 stars and I am very happy with. Three weeks post procedure, I receive a bill from Advanced Endodontics (AE) for $21, which is listed as Intraoral Periapical First Film (i.e.: x-ray), which I already paid my CASH price of $149.00 -for an Oral Eval which included an x-ray, (which is what the front desk told me was going to occur). When I called to inquire with Leslie in Billing at AE, she first informs me with no hesitation that she sees the charge and has no idea what the $21.00 is for and doesn't understand why I was charged. She placed me on hold to check with the front desk. When she returned to the phone, she advised me that because they (AE) filed with my insurance to see if anything was covered, I had to pay $21. She said if they had not submitted it to my insurance then I would not have had to pay because I was a CASH payer. Nobody up to today ever told me there was a fee to submit the bill to my insurance and why AE would show it as an x-ray charge only shows that they are attempting to cover or hide the fees for the erroneous $21 charge. On my original procedure / payment receipt there is no indication of a pending charge, outstanding balance or stipulation for a charge to file with my insurance. She (Leslie) informed me if I didn't pay the $21 it would be sent to collections. This is very wrong in so many ways. She said information, or lack of, about a charge is not the responsibility of the front desk job, so regardless, I must pay. She said it is a legal contractual agreement with my insurance that I must pay. The most concerning point is AE attempting to cover the cost of the insurance submission as an x-ray charge, which is bordering on billing fraud. I guess to top it off was her dismissive attitude during the conversation on the phone. This $21 charge is not going to change my life, but now it's all about principle: Advanced Endodontics billing procedures, what is being told at the front desk, the treatment on the phone by Leslie and the way it was billed as an x-ray. This seems to be a way to charge customers for manipulated charges and billing irregularities.
