Through my roommate, I was recommended to Stephanie's Hair Design and decided "why not?" Number 1: I am very easy going with my hair so I like to see what stylists/colorists can come up with to give me a new look. Number 2: I am usually pampered by mom and get $70+ haircuts and colors. Now being on my own, I was interested to see what Stephanie's could offer me! I was given an appointment with Kristen for 10 AM and I always show up about 10 minutes early to appointments. She took me right away and I was very happy to be greeted by Stephanie herself as well when I walked in. Overall, I am obsessed with my haircut! The price... I am even more in love with and the fact that the salon has a "refer-a-friend" discount is awesome (both my roommate and I are receiving a discount)! Kristen gave me amazing layers and worked with a difficult "bang-situation" I had going on from a previous cut. She was very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable. She listened to my concerns and did exactly what she thought I needed. She was also very careful not to over-cut, which I will admit happens all too much at salons. I walked into a very warm and family-esque environment, sweet ladies, conversations back and forth, was really surprised that this place even existed. Its a hidden gem off the corner of Rt 1, not much to look at immediately, but a traditional mom and pop kinda salon feel when you walk in. I arrived early, my hair-dresser finished up a little late, was in no rush so I was completely understanding. She listened to my concerns about getting a trim, cutting the dead ends off. She decided it was easier to do this after washing and styling and doing a dry cut. I trusted her expertise and went ahead with it. The wash was a bit rushed, there was an odd smell from the sink area, though I imagine it was because of the hair-dye that was lingering in the salon (it's a small place.) She conditioned following the wash, I didn't get a deep conditioner treatment but didn't make a point to say anything out of courtesy. She followed up with taking me back to my seat and immediately started to tackle the blow-dry in my very thick long hair. She did style is beautifully, she cut some of the ends off, she suggested my hair was in rather decent shape and didn't need much. I accepted her opinion, she was very polite and kind, and she finished up and offered some nice suggestions on how to close up my split ends. I closed off my tab with the Groupon, gave her a $10 tip and went on my way. Overall, not a memorable experience, I felt the whole thing (minus the hair styling portion) was rushed, I didn't get the deep conditioner which would've really been nice for my thick hair, and lastly, I could've honestly had more trimmed off my hair. She said it didn't need much, but when I got home I saw and felt the straw ends that really should've just been cut off. I'm going to have to wait a little bit and get a proper cut to make sure the dead ends are off. They're all very nice people here, I imagine they're amazing at their craft in different areas, my experience isn't necessarily a reflection on poor service, more-so could've just been an off day or maybe just bad luck with my hair.

She color corrected and cut the damage off my hair tremendously well. The teamwork between the two ladies during the entire 3 hour process was incredible. Alex really listened to the color I wanted (unlike previous hair stylists) and finally gave me the bayalage I'd been looking for for years! I'll also never cut a regular cut after a calligraphy again! My hair is very thick so calligraphy thins it out, keeps it soft, and finally gives my hair shape.
