Recently moved to the area from Boston and needed to switch which EWC I was frequenting. I originally scheduled an appointment with a waxer who is no longer there and the desk staff reached out about a week in advance to let me know and get me scheduled for another appointment. I have my services with Sam H. and she was great. She was on-time (which is a feat with how packed their schedules are) and was a perfectionist about the service which I really appreciated. We ended up chatting through most of the appointment which is always a bonus give the intimate nature of what we're doing. I already booked my next time with Sam H. while checking out but have to commend EWC on such an easy online booking app!! I would suggest making an appointment in advance to make sure you're seen as many EWC I've been to (not just this one) can get busy the day of. read more

CONSTANT turn over of employees and same day cancellations with no accommodation of rescheduling same day. I had a 945 appointment and received a text at 840 saying my wax specialist was not in today (which has been the same case 4 out of the past 8 months.) I even informed the receptionist this appointment was rescheduled once already AND I had an indoor pool party I had to attend today but still no accommodating. Unfortunate. read more

I was seen at this location on July 8th for a Brazilian wax, I had a coupon for a free wax for healthcare workers. Check in was easy, when my waxer called me back she asked if I had shaved but let's be real we've all been quarantined so sadly we've all been shaving. However it's been about 5 weeks since I last shaved. The waxer explained that some of the hair may not take which is perfectly fine and understandable. My wax lasted all of 10 minutes with her going over each section once. It wasn't until a few days later that I realized I had patches. Under my stomach, the right side is smooth and the left side was as if it wasn't touched. And at the base of my vagina, the left side is fine and the right side is as if it was never touched. I've been coming to EWC for years and have never had this problem so I had no idea that there was a 5 day window for touch ups. I called the center and they informed me of the rule which was news to me because I've never needed to know that. The front desk girl, who's name I don't know, was super sweet about it and completely doing her job relaying the information to me but at that point I was frustrated so my apologies. She transferred me to the manager, I didn't catch her name and I should've but I was so shocked with how rude she was it didn't even dawn on me. She picked up the phone and asked how she could help me and I had no clue I was being transferred so I responded with idk who I'm talking to. She proceeds to say well you haven't been here since October so were you shaving? and I said that's not the point I've been waxed elsewhere it doesn't need to be EWC, I've gone to the Saugus location for years. My issue is, I had no clue about the 5 day window, when I go to work y'all are closed and when I get out of work, you're closed. So I haven't had a chance to call besides now. She says well yea it's a 5 day window and you were seen by our wax trainer and I said that doesn't mean anything to me the job wasn't done well. She proceeds to say well you've shaved and a bunch of other things and I simply said you haven't seen what I'm talking about so how can you make those statements? She asked if I wanted to make an appointment and I asked if I needed to pay the $60 she says yes! I'm not looking for anything free but I'm for sure not paying $60 for a touch up. I explained that I didn't want to see that waxer again since I've had better waxes from other specialists there and she says ... rudely "well you saw her last time so do you want to be seen?" And I responded with I'd rather not considering how rude you're being so no thank you and I hung up. I can take responsibility for not making time to call but when you're busy with work and life, things slip your mind. I would've paid something to be seen to have a touch up but NOT with that waxer and NOT for $60. Maybe a training for the manager on basic customer service and conflict resolution? UPDATE:: I received a call from Jen (The Owner) who was very apologetic and offered to comp my next visit if I would give them another try. I agreed and honestly I never planned on not returning but it was a good incentive. I booked my other appointment with Genevieve (she was recommended by a friend) who was AMAAAAAZING, To say the least! She was so thorough and took her time to ensure that the wax was done to perfection and She was so polite. I was very appreciative and will absolutely be returning to see Genevieve again! read more

Great experience for a first time Brazilian wax! Scheduling my appointment was easy online and my appointment started only about 2 minutes behind schedule. My waxer, Emily, was fantastic! She immediately made me feel comfortable and less nervous about the whole process. The appointment lasted about 20 minutes and was less painful than expected. For the more painful spots, Emily was great at reminding me to take a deep breath first. She was efficient while still being friendly and paying close attention to detail. The appointments are tightly scheduled because that's the way corporate seems to have it set up. It would be nice, however, if the waxers were allowed to have a little more time with each client. Overall, my first visit was a success and I'll definitely be back again! read more

Covid reality means I am happy anyone is willing to provide a service. However, you need to post those rules more clearly and then be as patient with us humans as you'd like us to be with you. First appointment for a Brazilian, cannot use rest room. Well, for obvious reason that's a problem. Would have been imperative to have known that ahead of time. So now I need to reschedule kindly (front desk marching me through this like I'm an idiot for not knowing it ahead of time). Second appointment for 9:45. Rather than barreling in like the first time, I stop, hit the captcha on the door and wait outside as requested. Bc I did this at 9:55 and they have a NINE MIN LATE "policy" they want me to reschedule again. The front desk staff here need to learn how to explain things more appropriately and perhaps a touch of customer service would carry them a long way. I've lived all over the U.S. and have used this business for a long time. I've only ever had this kind of negative attitude and sincerely poor customer service from this particular location. No dear European Wax Swampscott, I would not like to reschedule for tomorrow. read more

I come here a lot and every time I come I get a good experience but this time was not the case. I got my eyebrows waxed by someone new to me and she barely shaped them, I asked for them to be a little thinner and they look the same. She didn't even trim them. I also woke up with red marks near my eyebrows which has never happened when I come here. Won't be returning. read more

I rely pretty heavily on yelp reviews so I wanted to leave one on here for other people to reference. I've been going to different European Wax Centers for the last four years or so now for Brazilian waxes only (so this review is not for any other type of waxing). When I moved to the North Shore about seven months ago - I went to Genevieve based on reviews here. Genevieve is excellent - fast, as painless as possible and makes you feel super comfortable when she is all up in your business. Today, I went to see Jasmine as Genevieve called out. Jasmine was friendly and also had a comfortable presence. I desperately needed to go which was the only reason I went to someone new and I didn't see any reviews here regarding Jasmine and a Brazilian wax so thought I would give it a try. My experience was less than stellar today- her technique was a bit slower with wax strips than I am used to which was not my favorite and felt more painful. I also got home and found missed patches of hair which I can't stand. I called EWC and they are going to try to work me in for a touch up in the next few days so they are resolving it - just frustrating I need to carve out a second time to go back when it was something I feel like should have been noticed the first go around. I am giving four stars because I think quality here is totally dependent on who you go to - and I really liked Jasmine, I am just not sure I would return to her for a Brazilian specifically. read more

Very frustrated! I had a waxing appointment at 2:45 today. I drove 30 minutes out of town to come here and get my wax because I love this company. However, today they couldn't accommodate me when I was stuck in traffic. No one called me and informed me that my appointment would be cancelled. The location is wrong on navigation and took me to a different location! Very frustrated and don't understand why no one could call me and let me know so I wouldn't have kept driving and wasted my time. read more

Ashley is the best! She gives me a great wax every time and has given me a bunch of pointers on how to maximize it. Also a lot of skincare advice! In addition to being an awesome esthetician she is charming and fun too. I always know I will get a great wax, and I always feel so comfortable and relaxed too. Definitely go here! I have had a couple waxes from some other technicians as well, and I wish I could remember their names, I have seen a few other professionals one time each. Only mentioning because I have always been happy with the end results and the service. So whoever you go to will be great. I definitely recommend Ashley and if she happens to be booked I still honestly feel you can't go wrong. I also appreciate European Wax Center itself because it offers package deals which are definitely worth checking out. There are so many locations I was even able to get one while in New York City when I was there for work during a month I had a tight schedule. So the convenience is great, if you do get a package. Either way, if you're looking for a new waxing specialist I recommend Ashley, but from all the people that I have seen, I think you'll be in good hands with anyone here. read more

Worst experience there today. Went for an eyebrow wax for the first time and they got wax stuck in my hair. They were unable to get it out and the poor wax consultant could not have been more apologetic. They didn't even have the tools available should a situation like this arise. No manager or anyone else came in to try and help. The consultant kept saying how sorry she was and how this has never happened before. Meanwhile the wax would not come out she offered to try and cut it out or rub oil on it but nothing was working and no one else came to try to help. I walked out frustrated to go home and try to fix it before driving afternoon carpools and was left with no other choice then to literally peel off the wax not only leaving me with a killer headache and bald spot on side of my head. Not one person from the franchise called to follow up with me or apologize. 2 hours later I filed a complaint with corporate. They were to contact me by end of day and still nobody has followed up. They blatantly admitted if not a corporate store then not much they could do about it. So a word to the wise if you don't want a bald spot on your Temple or a killer headache do NOT visit this franchise. It is NOT worth it even if the first visit is free! I have one eyebrows waxed on the top, a headache, a bald spot the size of a dime and poor customer service to boot! read more
