Arrived in Cherokee last evening, and a kind lady approached us in a parking lot to let us know something was hanging underneath our car. The underbody shield/ skid plate had come loose. We found Cherokee Tire & Auto Shop just down the street from our hotel. My husband drove down first thing this am and they took it right in. They said that they'd seen this happen many times because the shield has to be removed for oil changes, so over time it gets loose. Took minutes for the mechanic to re-attach it- and the boss said "no charge!". He gave a tip to the mechanic and we were off. They were super friendly - and saved our trip! Highly recommend! Wish we lived closer, because they would definitely be the first choice for auto repair! read more

Paul and his group did a amazing job getting me back on the road after the water pump and thermostat went bad. Very friendly and professional. Had a blown tire on my cooker, 5000 lb smoker. 24 for long so it's not an easy fix just because of parking. They had me in and out in less than 30 minutes and very reasonable prices. read more

Stopped in with a nail in the tire and a squealing sound. Repaired the tire immediately for a reasonable price. Did not try to sell us on repairs for the squeal, told us it was something that could wait. Very honest and quick work. read more

We had a flat tire in the mountains outside of Cherokee and I'm so glad that Cherokee tire and Auto was the first company I called. they even recommended a towing company when when the other towing companies said they were too busy. They took care of us very quickly and the price was significantly cheaper than what I was bracing myself for. One of the things I appreciate about the fine individuals that work in and run this establishment is ~ as a woman ~ I can tell they're not adding a pink tax or charging me unnecessarily for something I shouldn't be charged for just because I don't understand cars. In town visiting for the weekend, and got a flat tire Friday night on our way up. It was so difficult to find a tire repair shop in this area that was open on the weekends. But I was able to google and found Cherokee Tire & Auto! This tire shop is right off the main 74highway and very easy to locate. The waiting area is nice, with a small tv and a charging station for your gadgets. The tire prices were extremely reasonable and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. The repair service was also super fast. We arrived at 9:30am and I was out of there by 10am! You can't beat that. I would highly recommend this tire shop to anyone in the area. read more

Blew a tire on my travel trailer coming into Cherokee. Got it changed and starting asking people where to go to get a new spare and every person I asked recommended this place. I went in, explained what happened and they said they had the right tire for me. Later that day I brought the blown tire in and within 15 minutes they had it done. New tire on my rim and all ready to go. Nothing bad to say here, great service, wonderful people, responsive and from what I can tell, they do quaLity work which is reinforced by the fact that everyone I asked recommended them. I am dissatisfied with their work ethic. My latest experience was I went in for Tires and an oil change I was quoted $340 and leave the vehicle. I return to pick up the vehicle and they tell me that the total would be $1100 because they replaced the battery and said that the alternator and the front breaks were bad. This makes the third concecutive time that this has happened with this shop. They stated that they had tried to contact me but there is no record of this on my phone which was not without service nor was there a voicemail. The new battery had been installed and I had to make them remove it as it was priced higher than I can get on my own. The previous time I went in to get breaks and an oil change and show up and they changed the rotors bringing the price up to over $300 when what i requested was $140 and i specifically told them not to change the rotors when i dropped it off. So I made them remove the rotors. The trip before that I took one of my cars to the shop to get breaks and oil change and they. tell me that the wheel barring was bad and needed to be replaced bringing the price up from $140 to $700 read more

This business is definitely committed to customer service. We were on the road and discovered that the tread on one of our tires was separating, and was not far from self destruction. We Googled and found Cherokee Tire & Auto. They were very friendly and accommodating. They had the tire we needed, and had it mounted and we were on our way in 45 minutes! I went by there June 28, 2017 because they were the closest place when I saw an indicator light telling me I had low tire pressure. As soon as I got out of the car a man came out of the working Bay Area and asked to help, I asked him to check my tire pressure. He immediately saw the one that was low (as I had as well), put air in it, and ran his hand over it and told me I had belt showing through. I had planned to drive to Asheville for new tires, but he recommended I not do that. I went into the office and talked to the owner who was looking up the price of tires for me, and I asked if those were the ones he would want on his wife's car. Another customer next to me mentioned something about that was a good question to ask as a woman, and I started crying, because my husband died three weeks ago in a tragic accident. The owner was absent for that particular conversation, but when he returned he could tell I was upset, or if he couldn't he was a moron. He quoted me the price, I agreed, he said the tires would be in the next day, and I made an appointment to be there at 9 a.m. I asked if someone could put my donut tire on, and the first man who had put air in the tire did it. On my way home I stopped by another tire place that we have used previously. I asked if they could beat the previous price, and they could. With them I was getting comparable tires, an alignment which was desperately needed, and a $70 rebate from the tire company. Made an appointment for 2 p.m. the next day. When I got home (within 15 minutes), I immediately called Cherokee Tire to cancel the order. And, because I consider myself to be an honorable person, I asked if I owed anything for them putting the donut tire on my car. The man on the phone turned to the owner and said, "This is the lady that came in with the bad tires, ordered some for tomorrow, she's cancelling because she found tires cheaper somewhere else, and wants to know if she owes anything for putting the donut on". The owner said, "Yes, $20". Now, I'm a woman, but I'm no idiot. I know damn well it wasn't worth $20 to put that donut tire on my car. I told them I'd be by the next day to pay it, and I planned to give them a piece of my mind. Instead, my daughter went by there on her way to work the next day and told the owner who she was there to pay for, and asked why he charged me that. He said, "Because she cancelled the order for tires". My daughter said, "So you did it because you were mad at her?" He didn't deny it. She paid it. We hope he sleeps well at night. Ladies, dont use this business. The owner has no problem overcharging women, especially when they turn out to be smart shoppers who find better deals than he offers. read more

This place has to be the worst place I know of to get work done! I've used it several times because I go to church with the owner but two times I took a mustang there and once the wheel come off going down the road I figured it was just a faulty rim! Well took it there a second time and my wheel started making a loud noise ! They forgot to put my spacers back on! Well after a year or so I took my truck there to get me tires on front and control arm bushings and tie rod end put on! And was told it didn't need bushings so they ordered A control arm installed and did an alignment! Well the truck started pulling to the right so I had my wife take it back up a second time where they said they realigned it! When I got home from work and tried it out it was pulling even worse to the right! So I contacted Reggie Smith about getting my money back ! And he told my wife to come on up there when she got up there he only refunded the money for the alignment ! When I called and spoke with him he was rude and childish. ! And tried to argue with me and put words into my mouth! But a man has to watch out for wolves in sheeps clothing ! And that guy is a wolf! He trains his guys to upsale ! And I figured since I know the guy he would do the right thing (since we go to church together and all) but no! read more
