    Cider flight

This was our first stop while on vacation in the area for the week. It was a beautiful day (and holiday weekend) so there was a little wait for seating outside. I asked if we could sit inside and the hostess took us inside to the second floor to sit on the deck up there. It was perfect because we were still outside! We ordered an appetizer, zuccanoush, which was great! It was served with some grape tomatoes and pita. I had a flight of the non-dry ciders and my boyfriend tried two of their beers, which he really liked. Our server, Hannah, was friendly and professional. The property is very nice. Not sure when they built it but it all looks very new. They had live music outside which was a nice addition to the day.

What an amazing place. In town from Georgia and a bartender in Niagara Falls recommended this place. About a 30 minute drive but so worth it. In an old school in the midst of vineyards. Great beer, merch and food options. Staff we super cool and knowledgeable about the history and the beers

Bench is good, beer is good and food is fresh. Atmosphere is good, bartender was grumpy.

I've been here twice and each time I've been blown away! The bbq pork nachos are unreal! We've enjoyed the caprese flatbread as well and it was phenomenal! The staff are super friendly as well. The taproom does trivia weekly as well that sounds super fun too! This is a great spot for food when in the area!

We arrived during a quiet time when we were almost the only people there... it was odd but we still got great service and we loved the two meals we ordered: a curry and a panini. I would bet it's a fun place to be during events or on a weekend!

This brewery is always improving! I stopped here on a break from a bike ride and really enjoyed their ciders this time round. Had the peach and tropic ones and both were fantastic. Both a good (but not excessive) sweetness to them and were perfect for a sunny fall(ish) day. I loved their patio which seems to continue to expand every time I visit. I huddled up to one of the extremely comfortable Muskoka chairs and relaxed. Last but certainly not least was the service. My server was absolutely amazing. Super friendly, offered great selections and didn't rush me as I took my time soaking it all in. Do stop if you're cruising down Hwy 8!

This is a great spot to stop off for lunch on your way to Niagara on the Lake. Dog & Kid Friendly patio with great service, ambiance and food. Bench BBQ Pulled Pork nachos was great. Substantial portion to split three-way and pork was juicy and not overly saucy. We ordered the Mac & Cheese ($14) with side Greek salad ($6) which was good. Portion of the Mac & Cheese was on the smaller side but still very good. We ordered a flight of 4 drinks ($15) to sample their ciders, IPA, etc. The peach Chardonnay infused apple cider was sweet and refreshing. The Session IPA had hints of grapefruit flavour. There were a few corn hole games around the dining area for the kiddos. Will definitely recommend and come back again!

Cool brewery. We sat outside and enjoyed ourselves. I think it's mainly outdoor sitting, the upstairs taproom was closed for a private event, I think. I ended up going for a flight as their was a lot of options, ciders too! Decent service. Good food. Would recommend.

I've been to Bench Brewing last year, but I must say I was much more impressed this time around. Seating is first come, first serve, so they don't take reservations. They get really busy!! Be prepared to wait during peak times. We came around 1:30pm and we waited around 15minutes for shaded seating. Unshaded seating was a little less waiting time. They have a pretty decent amount of seating as they have two patio areas. Last year, the larger patio area was picnic benches, with only some having umbrellas. This year, the larger patio was covered mostly by a big tent, which was really nice in this hot weather. Ordering was easy. They have a touch-less menu, using a QR code. I find their menu selection to be on the smaller side, but everything I've ever had was pretty good. The wait was a little long for our food to come, maybe around 20 mins. This time we ordered a flight of four beers. Our favourites were the Short Hills and Clean Slate. Both are lighter beers. Clean Slate is a but on the fruity side. We also ordered the Sicilian flatbread and Chicken shararma bowl. The flatbread was delicious, especially with the pesto sauce. I thought it would be pretty plain based on how it looked, but everything went well together. The chicken shawarma bowl was pretty tasty too. I just thought the chicken was a little in the dry side, but there was enough sauce to make up for it. Overall, I really enjoyed everything about Bench Brewing and love how my second experienced was even better than first (which was pretty good to begin with). Definitely will be back.

What an amazing day! We had the opportunity to meet Shayne, Head Brewer and what a treat. The knowledge and passion of beer was mind blowing. We also had lunch there which was delicious. I had the pork nachos which were a huge portion and very flavorful. I highly recommend stopping by and enjoy a beer.

I am a big fan of this place. I went to go peach picking down the street and we decided to check this place out. It was great. There's lots of patio space outside but also a good space inside with barriers at the tables. It's a clean, modern/ industrial vibe space but all beautifully put together. Beers You can have a pint or do a sampler flight which can include up to 4 4oz. Beers of your choice from their list. They've got good selection for a varietal palette. I think the beers change frequently and some are sold at LCBO. They had a good selection of sours when we went. All very delicious but my favourite was one in particular that mixed the taste of wine and beer together. I also appreciate that they worked collaboratively with a local winery in the area as well. When they offer you your flight they provide cards aside each glass to help you remember what you're drinking. There's also a little description of the beverage on the cards ...and let me tell you, I was surprised how accurate they were. The beer with raspberry and red currant, actually had a strong presence of those flavours. Food Ok so a brewery with food for the most part you'd expect pub style food right? Wrong. This place had great food. We tried a couple of things as a table. We ordered the nachos, and the chicken wings to share. And for all our dishes we chose the Mac and cheese, the shawarma bowl and the beef sandwich. Everything tasted great. We had so much food we kind of shared it all. And you know when you know you shouldn't keep eating but it's just good food so you can't help it....this was the place to do it. If I had to recommend anything, the nachos and wings were awesome. Brisket portion that came out with the nachos was good and wings were so tasty even being baked. (Most fried wings will always be good- baked wings are a hit or miss) Would I be back? For sure.

B & E ... the 2 letters that start a few of my favourite things... BEamsville... my beloved little hometown BEnch... the best layer of soil around BEer! No description needed! The Bench Brewery could very easily be my final resting place, between the hops and the good food, stunning view and excellent service! First off, Bench is uniquely located amongst the heart of Niagara Wine country, cozied up against some of the best wines in the area they exceed your excpetations and are dropping some damn delicious brews and equally tasty locally sourced foods. From the refreshing sours that are fermented with the local fruits of the region to the IPAs inspired from the hills, fruits, and land of the regions, all the brews will certianly please you! Our home fridge is ALWAYS stocked up with some IPA or a boujee bottle of the Cherry grove sour. And let me tell you, this is some GREAT IPA! For all my beer drinking friends, these beers will make you pretty hoppy. For those that feel beer ain't their thing, check out a sour for a refreshing drink or a hometown lager or ale. Certainly a drink for everyone here! Now lets talk about these eats here, all locally sourced and fresh, fabulous salads, fun and tasty apps, and awesome sandwhichs that will rock your socks. Do note that the menu can be a tad more expensive than you may pay at other places but I think the quality and service is well worth it. The B.E.L.T sandwhich has amazing flavours from the local sourdough in merriment with the smoked bacon and herbed egg salad, coming with a create side salad. Chased down with the apricot ale and I was set! Everything was served with a smile and great srvice everytime! Erik was great! The patio is stunning looking over the vineyards and town i love so much! Strict COVID procedure to keep everyone safe and healthy too! LOVE Bench and proud to direct people and out of town friends here at any time! Definitely give Bench a visit if you're in the area!

The food was good, though a little steep for what you get. The service was fine, I don't really have any complaints. The beer was good, I enjoyed having a flight here. I would definitely go back if I was going through some of the Wine trail area again. I don't know if I would mark it as a landmark place to go, though apparently it used to be a school house which was converted into a brewery? It was kinda cool to look at it. Definitely a good place to go, if you are in the area and like beer - you should go.

Sure enough, I returned with my wife and our little dog, and we had a really nice time relaxing on the patio. It's a super chill spot with a laid-back atmosphere, and the staff here are genuinely very friendly. This time around I ordered the Weissbier, which I really enjoyed, and my wife got a Mango Mimosa that she also liked a lot. We split the Honey Garlic Cauliflower Wings as a snack. They were decent...maybe a little softer than we would've liked, but the flavour itself was still really good. That being said, we both thought $19 was pretty steep for what you get, especially portion-wise. We definitely plan on coming back again to try some of the mains because the menu looked really appealing. Overall, a great little brewery and a good time all around. For the food, we tried their nachos (excellent, lots of toppings and cheese), wings (middle of the road, not great) and chicken tacos (exceptional). The service was outstanding. Our bartender/waiter was super helpful making a number of recommendations on both the beer and food, none of which disappointed. I was surprised to see I haven't written a review but I always have a good experience here! For my mom's birthday, she wanted to grab a beer flight and dinner at Live Edge Brewing. We arrived on a Saturday around 4:45pm and took a parking spot close to the entrance. They have a good-size parking lot so no concerns about finding a space. We walked in and saw the "wait to be seated" sign and soon afterward, a young woman came over and asked how many in our party and where we'd like to sit. The three of us decided to sit on their back patio. We picked a table and our waitress soon followed with drink/food menus. All of the tables outside had umbrellas to help shield from the sun, which on this Saturday was out but the temperature was perfect and there was a slight breeze to cool it down a little. The one oddity we had was that our drink menus didn't match as my menu had more taps listed compared to the others I was sitting with, so I ended up getting a drink in my flight they never saw. I slight hiccup but honestly, you can't be too upset with a drink in your hand! Our waitress was young and incredibly personable, friendly, accommodating, answering all our questions about the food and customizing our orders how we wanted them. We might have let it slip that it was my mom's birthday - Our waitress brought her a birthday cake shot to celebrate, which she loved! Our waitress let us take our time sampling our beer flights before placing our food orders. The wait time for our food was very reasonable, maybe 10-15 minutes, I can't remember as we were having too good a time chatting and sipping. For dinner, I ordered their Nashville Hot Chicken Sammy, which is a hand-breaded toaster-oven-baked chicken breast topped with provolone cheese, pickles, and their Nashville hot sauce between a brioche bun and served with a side of tater tots (a small upcharge from their default chips). The sandwich was delicious! Now, for you spice lovers, I didn't find this sandwich very spicy, it was more about the flavor, the tang of the sauce. I didn't mind it not being that spicy, the flavor was excellent! The pickles were thick and had a nice crisp to them and the provolone cheese paired so well with it all. The tater tots were fried perfectly with a crispier exterior but hot, pillowy-soft interior - For the small upcharge, ~$3.00, they were worth it. The portion sizes were perfect as I was perfectly full, I wasn't uncomfortable. The price of my meal was reasonable as well, especially seeing how everything's costing more in 2026. Live Edge Brewing is not only a family favorite but for me, it's a hidden gem. The friendly, laid back, yet still attentive service and country atmosphere have us continuing to come back each New Year's Eve, and now, this could become a new birthday tradition!

I had been give a fifty dollar gift card to…read moreBrothers Brewing Company and they only provided four cans of beer (or I could sit down and drink four pints by myself in the middle of the afternoon - that was the other option). For a retirement gift, my boss had bought $50 gift certificates to six micro breweries in Guelph, which has been great. We've had dinner at some, but at others, I have just bought cans of beer to go (usually I put in a bit more cash and get 18 cans). This place must not have had a proper gift certificate, because I just had a "pint card" (4 beers value - $34) and the balance was rung up as 2 X 473mL lagers, for about $50. I explained to the server that I was sure this was meant to represent a $50 gift card and she said it was just a pint card and my boss must have drank the two tall boys there (while touring around Guelph to get gift cards at 2pm). Anyway, I finally took the 4 cans, which were $34 plus tax, although for $30, you could get 6 cans. I'm probably going on too long about this, but I feel like I was ripped off and this is my only way to deal with it, emotionally. Anyway, I will never go back there again, and please, never buy a gift certificate from this establishment.
