Not much of a coffee person... Had a soy latte once, iced latte, and another time lemon ginger tea ( which was just lemon in hot water and cut up ginger- bleh) ... Lining up here can be a bit chaotic .... I'm sure I picked up someone else's coffee at one time ... All I heard was latte an I was in a hurry ... It ended up being soy latte... Hope the other person wasn't lactose intolerant. Sorry! Latte was like any other latte (sorry - note again Im not much of a coffee person) still had a bit of the bitter taste to it. So why all the stars? Those crazy amazing croissants! Esp the almond. ...great..... now everyone is going to want it. Hope they don't up the price even more. But amazing. Simply amazing. I have started visiting this cafe every one in a while after moving to the neighbourhood last fall. It has become a treat to go here when I can afford the time with my schedule - the coffee is delicious & the baked goods are delightful (if you can't resist them). I tried the cheddar jalapeño croissant, it was the best thing I ate that day, and I had a lot to eat that day. I also really enjoy the staff that work here. Sometimes yes I've had service that has just been "transactional" as one very spoiled-sounding woman has written above, but other times I've had some laughs with the barista taking my order or the one who makes my drink. Not every order can be an exceptional experience, no matter what. In addition to the fact that this cafe get exceedingly busy, we need to remember that these are real people taking our orders and not robots (which it seems the masses in 2018 would prefer, sadly). Don't let negative "Elite" reviewers dismay you. I will definitely return again and again as long as I'm in this neighbourhood - would highly recommend. read more

This place is my favorite cafe in Toronto so far. Everything is baked in house and every time you walk in it smells incredible. They also make their own chai- which smells and tastes amazing. Their croissants (chocolate, cheese and almond) are the best in the city. There is very little sitting room so it's more of a grab and go cafe but if you're in the area you should absolutely try it. Super fantastic espresso beverages, perfect mixture of sweet and bitter- sans sugar! My friend who lives in the hood, always gets their Red Tea lattes- and loves them. I'm GF (gluten free) so I can only say that their baked goods smell so wonderful- made there in the shop daily. They do now have some GF goods, I had a sweet macaroon the other day! The downside, is the seating- there are about 7 spots to sit, two being long benches which face into the cafe, which makes for an interesting perspective but not exactly coffee sipping comfort. In the summertime, customers pour out on to the sidewalk; sit on planter boxes, the few chairs that exist under the awning and generally mill about chatting. Hot damn, Cherry Bomb! Fantastic coffee, great open kitchen set up and the pastries make my knees weak. Also, they've got a badass basement bathroom that has you walk past what looks like a garage band rehearsal space. It's like a secret world that makes you wonder what the hell happened in there the night before. The space UPSTAIRS is a bit jam packed and when lineups get long (every morning and all day on the weekends) it becomes an awkward waiting game where you'll be slammed by at least 2 strollers. I am lucky to have Cherry Bomb as my neghbourhood coffee shop. The coffee is top notch and compared to other shops, fairly priced. I love the recent partnership with Duke's Cycle and the various bikes on display month to month. The service is very good, not too pretentious like some coffee shops full of wannabe artists and musicians too good to serve a cup of joe but too poor not to. The only nag I have is the pastries are far behind the counter and I constantly have to ask what's available, though it's usually the same everyday. It would be helpful to have them somewhere more accessible, or at least a chalkboard with items listed. I would recommend the scones, the scones are very very good. read more

The coffee is just alright & the cold drinks are often times made too sweet (don't dare complain about that or anything else to CB staff though). Actually, their baked goods are where the real party's at. That party would be even better if it didn't end at around 1pm (aka when they usually run out of their best pastries- the almond croissants & double chic chip cookies). The baristas on the other hand are some of the most annoying, cynical hipsters this side of Roncy. Their snobby attitude translates to some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced & I've been to France. Actually is it just me or has TO been suffering from some crappy service in general lately? Anyway. Apparently some of these worldly baristas have gotten too big for their breeches, or thought there just wasn't enough cafes on this block of Roncy, so they've decided to open up their own. Croissants are not bad. I've had better. But their service was quite terrible. Cashier was indifferent/rude. I bought 5 baked items in total, requested separate bags for 3 of them - apparently that's a "no no", since I got quite the eye roll for asking. This was after I was given a big sigh for asking "what types of croissants do you have?" I expected more from a place with decent reviews. This is my favorite cafe/coffee place around! The baked goods are excellent. I'm a tea drinker. The tea is full bodied and flavorful. My family loves the coffee and orders it by the bags...as for some other reviews complaining about service...maybe it would be alot more helpful/productive to the local small business owner if you spoke with them first to make a complaint instead of slandering them all over the internet. This place is packed every single morning of the week with regulars stopping in for their morning coffee fix. They have limited seating including a bar along the front window and the side wall with stools, as well as four chairs outside. Cherry Bomb is our weekend treat. My husband and I go there sometimes on the weekends for a yummy coffee. The staff is friendly, lattes are delicious and their baked goodies are yummers. Very good coffee, service is super efficient but not overly familiar or neighborhoody... Very cute cafe on the roncesvales strip. The interior is very cute and cozy and appearance. Prices are very fair and they have a nice selection of treats to pair with the caffeine beverages. you cannot help but feel a little cheerful in cherrybomb. its something to do with the colours on the walls. theres a strong presence of orange, (they wear orange t shirts) and a light almost imperceptible green. plus they have different bikes on the wall that they feature. in other words, i walked in there and while i was waiting for my cappucino, i was staring at a bicycle which was temporarily mounted on the wall by way of a thin (i suppose bike) rail. okay. sure. whatevs, you might say. other than that, the walls, though there might have been a bit more on them, seemed to rely mostly on their colour scheme and not much else. this philosophy made its way onto the floors which had few places to sit. for me, thats a criteria for a good coffee place, as opposed to just a good coffee. cappucino was called and i went up to the front, glanced to my right and debated on whether i wanted to get one of their severely delicious looking pastries. i didnt. (i wanted a sandwich and went somewhere else). but if i were to venture, i would have chosen one of their rugelach. instead i walked about warmed by the heart that was atop my cappucino; maybe the barista was trying to tell me something... read more

I am a pastry lover, of sorts. I've been told so many times to check out Cherry Bomb Cafe, despite it's distance from my home. Finally, yesterday, I did, and I'm super disappointed. First of all, it can't be efficient to put all of your freshly baked goods behind the counter (like 10 feet behind the counter) and create a situation wherein patrons have to ask what the baked goods are. No signs, no glass display case, no prices, nothing. Really complicated when it should be much simpler. To add insult to injury, essentially every baked item had almonds on it, which is annoying. I have a small "a" nut allergy (i.e. I can't eat them, but I can eat things that have been in contact with them, as in I won't die) and everything was smothered in nuts. Sad, because some of the otherwise nut-laden sweets looked delicious. There wasn't a ton of selection and the prices were a bit steep. Cherry Bomb also has a large space on the Roncy strip, so you'd think there would be tables and chairs, like a real cafe, but alas, there were not. really good pastries. although don't get an espresso with the spicy scone, you won't taste anything. I found the espresso wasn't really full bodied after trying two different espressi. Perhaps it is too much to have 4 grinders all dialed into perfection or perhaps I just like a more full bodied coffee like a ristretto. Def try it out. read more

Cherry Bomb has a menu full of good coffee, a rockin' soundtrack, and lots of fresh-baked goods on hand. Apparently they've started roasting their own beans too. However, they only have 7 seats, half an outlet (half used by a spot heater), and no Wi-Fi. Interestingly, they chose to keep the door open today, though it's not a warm day. There's a steady stream of customers, which is a good sign to me, and some conversational background noise. All of this culminates in an A-OK place to grab something and go, but not to sit and work. The place is a very simple coffee stop. It is known for their baked goods from the Google reviews. I ordered Americano and one baked cookie. I forget the name of the latter. It's brown, chewy, and not too sweet to eat. You can smell strong flavor of dry longan while eating. Love it so much. The staff is friendly and will chat with you as you want from my observation. However, I think the price is not so cheap for a cup of coffee. Still, will go there for trying other baked goods. read more
