The piece de resistance is a 360 swing with three tethered seats that one can sit or stand on and whose speed can be regulated by a designated person pushing any singular unit with clockwise or counterclockwise. Think of it as a manually powered version of one of those swing rides at any amusement park at low elevation for 3 participants. As for the name, it is based on the remnant of an old log structure that sits near the picnic area so there is some historical significance to the space. ADA access and walking path available but no restrooms although Harris Teeter is a hop and skip away.

I love that it is all mulch which makes it a softer blow on falls. The equipment seems older here, but no kids I know would care about that. There are bathrooms as well as picnic tables, a large grass field, and basketball courts. Parking is on-street and can be tricky. We both enjoyed Lacey Woods and will add it to our park rotation.

I was impressed by the size and how well kept it was. There is a rubberized surface play area for toddlers; with climbing structures, rolling hills, swing sets and even an enormous sandbox. There was also a large play area geared for older kids on the other side of the park. There is plenty of benches and shaded areas to sit and chill. Bonuses: There were many plastic ride on vehicles and cozy coupes scattered around for the kids to use. My nephew loved playing and riding on them. Also, the area is gated and we felt safe in the playground even though this park is right off a busy street. There are plenty of street parking as well.

It was definitely over-crowded and quite hard to find a table to sit down. We eventually found one right at the back of the store. The kids had the best time but scramble employees were no where to be found! There was no one monitoring kids. My kid got hurt a few times by slightly older kids and it was quite chaotic. The staff were not cleaning at all. You have to remove your shoes before entering the play area but the toilets are located inside the play designated area which means you have to go into the bathroom with socks on which is very gross. They should allow shoes in the bathroom area. Also the soap dispensers were empty and the lady that cleans the bathroom just hung out in the bathroom not really cleaning or filling the soap. The cafe - there are food options for kids and adults. We did try the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was fine( cheese) but the fries were not good. It tasted like they fried it in very old oil. They do have coffee but I did not try it as the didn't have an option for skim milk. They do not allow outside food or drink but no one seems to really monitor that. Security - ok so this is non-existent. There is a door that divides outside area with inside play area but kids can easily open the door and leave the premises. The lady that stands by the door doesn't monitor kids matches with their guardians. She just opens and closes the door and often she is not there at all. They do not give wristbands at all or any form of security feature. So watch your kids closely while you are there as once they go into that massive play area it's difficult to locate them. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they don't worry about germs , dirt or food. I mean it's fine for an hour or so but honestly it was the last resort when deciding on a place to take the kids too. They also charge the adults an entry fee!!! ‍ I mean it's not like we are playing in the kids areas . I think we paid $55 for entry (2 kids and 2 adults). Would I go back? Not by choice but if the kids asked then I would consider it for an hour or two. ( definitely not on a weekend though).

There are lots of big soft blocks to stack, ball pits, and cute themed play areas. But it's definitely for younger kids. Tweens and up probably wouldn't be interested. The cons: Supervision is minimal and some kids get very rowdy. Rules seem to be enforced in a haphazard way. I've seen kids standing on the windowsills and banging on the glass, stacking toys to dive onto the ground, and piling four at a time onto the slides. You should keep an eye on the toddler crowd to make sure that older kids aren't shoving them. Lots of parents grab a drink or food to relax while their kids run wild. If that's your vibe, this place is a good fit. But it's also good for parents who want to be a bit more hands on--you can let your child explore while keeping them in close sight for much of the space. Also remember to wear socks!

There are several different places to park and a few different entrances, depending on whether you're interested in the fields, the playgrounds, the disc golf or the trails. So much to choose from! I went for the trails, which is connected to the W&OD that is 40-plus miles long and Four Mile Run. So, pick the one you'd like, and loop around back to your parking spot. I really like this park! You can also find a bench and just hang out near some trees or the fields. You can bring a blanket and toss around a frisbee and have a little picnic. You can bring your children and let them run around and play. What a find in NoVa!

Wow, really beautiful park connected to the WO&D trail. The park is well kept, I was really impressed. The playground equipment was in good standing with nothing being broken. There were swings, slides of various sides, a sand pit (which wasn't that nice but was okay), and a great merry go round. If this park gets boring, you can simply walk over to the other side of the interstate and see Bon Air park. There is a path going under the interstate that connects them. It's great because there is a lot of shade and there's even a shade garden in Bon Air park, as well as more restrooms and barbecue pits. There is also plenty of parking for this park. There's a parking lot and I'm sure you can also find spots in the neighborhood or even on the other side of the interstate adjacent to Bon Air park, if you are really desperate to find a spot and don't mind a short walk. My kids had an absolute blast at this playground. We will definitely be coming back!
