    Roses in every color

Love coming to this park. There are roses in every color. But parking at peak times can be tricky, so be patient.

The flowers here are so beautiful. If you are looking for a place to just sit, admire the beauty, then get a mini walk in or run, this may be the place for you. Timing of the year for visiting the park is also essential, as the heat may have impact on certain flowers not blooming or dying from lack of watering (there was one section that was dried up on our visit at the beginning of September), so that is something to consider. There is also plenty of parking.

There isn't much to add that other Yelpers have not covered! This garden is a must-see and worth the trip. Well maintained, and lots of photo ops and places to just sit and just take it all in. There is a parking lot and short trail in the adjoining park.

This is a pretty rose garden which is next to two tennis courts, a children's playground, and picnic area. From the garden, you can see the Washington & Old Dominion bike trail (just across Four Mile Run Creek). This park and rose garden was a pleasant surprise. It's located at the bottom of a steep hill as you are driving along Wilson Blvd. The park is about 1 mile west of the high-rise office buildings of Ballston. At the entrance on North Lexington St., the parking lot is spacious and free - a bonus for Arlington where street parking can be difficult to find. I drove here on a Sunday afternoon in mid-November for a brief stop while enjoying a cup of coffee, and was surprised to see a few roses. The weather was cloudy but in the upper 50s - warm enough for a family to enjoy an outdoor picnic lunch. Look forward to visiting again when more roses are in bloom.

Cyndy's Bottom Line: A beautiful rose garden and so much more. Bon Air Park is a memorial rose garden and features more than 120 different varieties of roses. You can get lost in the rows of gorgeous roses in a variety of brilliant colors. The Arlington Rose Foundation serves as partner to advise on and help promote planting. There is also a section of azaleas, camellias and shade, sun and ornamental tree gardens. This 24-acre park also includes playgrounds for kids, picnic areas with charcoal grills and a walking path. A great place to enjoy the day.

Bon Air is a beautiful neighborhood park with a gorgeous rose garden which is the highlight of the park. They are maintained to perfection. I was really impressed as I went in the height of summer; the roses were still in bloom with so many different colors! There is ample parking, paths to walk, a playground, etc. -- basically something there for the whole family to enjoy.

Such a happy surprise! I saw a mention of this park on a FB group, so I thought I'd go check it out. I had no idea what to expect and was just looking to spend some time outside. I was pleased to find such a beautiful, well maintained garden. I was there in early October and there was still beautiful blooms. I look forward to coming back when it might be more of a peak bloom. There's also an educational garden which was nice to walk through. It looked like it needed a little attention, but many things do during this pandemic craziness. I also noticed a playground and lots of green space. There was gravel path which people were walking and biking on. I'll have to get to that next visit. Oh! How can I forget? There was even a wedding wrapping up in the rose garden when I first arrived. Go see. You'll love it!

Had a lovely lunch date with Husband here. Ample parking right next to the garden. Bring a blanket for sitting on the nice green grass, next to millions of lovely roses, with a basket of sandwiches and tea. Perfect!

This is one of my favorite local and hidden gems in Arlington! And it's free! I came back-to-back in the early spring before all the roses bloom and it was still lovely then! Gorgeous greenery. Aside from roses, there are azaleas, magnolia trees, holly bushes and lovely camellia flowers in bloom! Such a beautiful sight! It's a great place for a mini photo shoot (so many great photo ops!) or place to go on a nice family-friendly stroll. Check out the walking paths that surround the park. There are cute little garden nooks where you can sit in the shade and look at more shrubs and greenery. Its own paradise! It's never crowded, so that's a plus during covid when you want to get outside and enjoy nature's beauty. The park has plenty of parking (has its own lot) which makes it very convenient. There are no bathrooms - so plan ahead! Ballston commons and a bunch of nice restaurants like Pupatella and Italian store are just minutes away. The park is also dog friendly, so you can bring your furry friends for a nice walk here, as well!

Roses roses roses! This is the perfect place for engagement, graduation, selfies, family photos and more. I stumbled upon this completely by happenstance when looking for playgrounds. Yes, there is a playground here that is not worth a shout out, but those roses brought joy to my heart. There is ample parking and tons of walk ways to explore through the park in North Arlington. Those roses though.... omg. Seriously just go see so I don't have to explain myself anymore.

This is such a beautiful park and rose garden. I used to come here as a kid, and I used to say that this was the place I wanted to get married. Not much has changed - I still want my special day to be full of pretty roses. No matter what your reason is for stopping by this park, you are sure to feel surrounded by beauty and tranquility. This is definitely an oasis worth relaxing at, or stopping at during a walk or a run on one of the adjacent trails, or while visiting the neighboring park or tennis court. There are many benches and fields nearby, so this would be ideal for a picnic, barbecue (Grills are nearby too) and the like. Can you tell I'm obsessed with this? Maybe you will be soon, too :)

Fun park with a great grassy area for frisbee or soccer and a beautiful rose garden. They also have a jungle gym with sand for the kids.

None of these are particularly amazing or updated like the fancy new stuff at many other playgrounds in the area, but all work perfectly well for kids (and parents) looking for a place to simply run and play. The area is fenced and gated (with a relatively child proof or at least child resistant locking mechanism) which I like a lot and wish all parks offered. I did not walk all the around to the back of the grassy area on the other side of the picnic structure to check to see if the fence went all the way around the entire park though, so I can't speak to the full "security" of the park overall, but it definitely seems securely fenced on the street side where all or most of the actual playground equipment is located, and I was able to watch my three kids play in different areas on either side fairly easily from my vantage point at the central picnic structure. It's not my kids' first choice of park in the area, given so many other nearby options like Quincy, Oak Grove, Woodstock, Woodlawn, Mosaic Park, Madison Manor and others, but it's a perfectly nice neighborhood park with a number of enticing elements like the spray ground, sand pit play area, covered picnic shelter, and several tennis and basketball courts. Particularly good park choice for birthday parties, btw.

This is a little park tucked into North Arlington across from the Arlington Science Focus School…read more There is a small parking lot or street parking is available. This is definitely for the 5 and under crowd IMO. There are no big slides, no extensive climbing apparatuses. There's 2 baby swings and 2 big swings. There's a large sand pit that includes an excavator for digging and a play kitchen. There is a 3 person seesaw and a tiny pirate ship. There are two small slides. The centerpiece is supposed to be a solar system themed spray park. Currently you can climb on the "planets". Water fountains are working. There are tennis courts and a small bike circle. If you have bigger kids, go elsewhere but this is perfect for toddlers!

The park is well kept, I was really impressed. The playground equipment was in good standing with nothing being broken. There were swings, slides of various sides, a sand pit (which wasn't that nice but was okay), and a great merry go round. If this park gets boring, you can simply walk over to the other side of the interstate and see Bon Air park. There is a path going under the interstate that connects them. It's great because there is a lot of shade and there's even a shade garden in Bon Air park, as well as more restrooms and barbecue pits. There is also plenty of parking for this park. There's a parking lot and I'm sure you can also find spots in the neighborhood or even on the other side of the interstate adjacent to Bon Air park, if you are really desperate to find a spot and don't mind a short walk. My kids had an absolute blast at this playground. We will definitely be coming back!
