This location is probably a 3.5 for me. The pros: it's a great place to take young kids, especially during inclement weather, giving them a chance to burn off some energy. We went there during a recent heat wave, and it was such a relief to have a place to play with air conditioning (and that wasn't tearing up our own home). There are activities for kids of various ages, including a baby-centric exploration area and a huge maze that's good for elementary aged kids. There are lots of big soft blocks to stack, ball pits, and cute themed play areas. But it's definitely for younger kids. Tweens and up probably wouldn't be interested. The cons: Supervision is minimal and some kids get very rowdy. Rules seem to be enforced in a haphazard way. I've seen kids standing on the windowsills and banging on the glass, stacking toys to dive onto the ground, and piling four at a time onto the slides. You should keep an eye on the toddler crowd to make sure that older kids aren't shoving them. Lots of parents grab a drink or food to relax while their kids run wild. If that's your vibe, this place is a good fit. But it's also good for parents who want to be a bit more hands on--you can let your child explore while keeping them in close sight for much of the space. Also remember to wear socks! read more

I took my two kids ( under 6 yrs) on a Sunday mid-day and it was very busy. It's been very cold outside and I think many parents needed their kids out and about doing something. It was definitely over-crowded and quite hard to find a table to sit down. We eventually found one right at the back of the store. The kids had the best time but scramble employees were no where to be found! There was no one monitoring kids. My kid got hurt a few times by slightly older kids and it was quite chaotic. The staff were not cleaning at all. You have to remove your shoes before entering the play area but the toilets are located inside the play designated area which means you have to go into the bathroom with socks on which is very gross. They should allow shoes in the bathroom area. Also the soap dispensers were empty and the lady that cleans the bathroom just hung out in the bathroom not really cleaning or filling the soap. The cafe - there are food options for kids and adults. We did try the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was fine( cheese) but the fries were not good. It tasted like they fried it in very old oil. They do have coffee but I did not try it as the didn't have an option for skim milk. They do not allow outside food or drink but no one seems to really monitor that. Security - ok so this is non-existent. There is a door that divides outside area with inside play area but kids can easily open the door and leave the premises. The lady that stands by the door doesn't monitor kids matches with their guardians. She just opens and closes the door and often she is not there at all. They do not give wristbands at all or any form of security feature. So watch your kids closely while you are there as once they go into that massive play area it's difficult to locate them. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they don't worry about germs , dirt or food. I mean it's fine for an hour or so but honestly it was the last resort when deciding on a place to take the kids too. They also charge the adults an entry fee!!! ‍ I mean it's not like we are playing in the kids areas . I think we paid $55 for entry (2 kids and 2 adults). Would I go back? Not by choice but if the kids asked then I would consider it for an hour or two. ( definitely not on a weekend though). read more

I had a very disappointing experience today at the Falls Church location of Scramble Indoor Play. As a regular customer, I've always had positive experiences here, which is why today's visit was so surprising. We waited at the front desk for quite a long time with no staff present. Eventually, a staff member named Annaia saw us but appeared to be walking away until I called her over. When she finally assisted us, her attitude was very rude and impatient. Her manner was abrupt and unprofessional. When I mentioned that we had been waiting for a long time, she simply responded that they were "very busy," in a dismissive tone, without any apology or acknowledgment. I understand that things can get busy, but basic courtesy and respect toward customers should always be maintained. This was the first time I've encountered such poor service here, and it was quite disappointing given my past experiences. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service to prevent this from happening again. read more

Just got here (Spring Break weekday) @ Scramble Indoor play and I've visited the previous Scramble Indoor play @Alexandria and I gotta say, by far, I think this is the tallest and BIGgest indoor play in NoVA, specifically here in West Falls Church! It's Spring Break and EVERYONE is here; walked in after 2 P.M. on a Friday and paid total of $44 for two (2) twin 5 years old girls, and of course myself ($3 per parent entrance fee). The signs says $18 on weekdays, but today is a Friday so it might be slightly higher in admission fees. My two year old had a blast in Scramble. They offer playgrounds for infant, toddler, pretend play and older kids. On the top of the older kids section, there are some display boards on airplanes and aviation history which is cool. There is also a soccer field and Lego play at the back of the playground. The playground is massive compared to Jolly Yolly Fairfax but small compared to HyperKidz Alexandria. Parking is limited, we went on a cold day so ended up parking on the street. For myself and my toddler, it costs $22 to get in. Each additional adult and sibling costs additional, which makes it expensive if a family of 4 were to get in together (almost $30). If you're going to have a ball pin for "babies" at an age where they can barely hold a ball and probably suffocate under said balls without a parent present MAYBE CONSIDER A BALL PIN FOR TODDLERS AND OLDER KIDS who actually care about ball pins and can appropriately plan in them. VERY UNSAFE! Fun facility, but unsafe and very poorly managed We visited this indoor playground with the expectation of enjoying a fun and safe day for our children. While the facility itself offers plenty of activities and could be a great place for kids, the overall management and supervision left much to be desired. I understand that these kinds of facilities are designed for kids to run, play, and explore with a certain amount of freedom -- and that's part of the appeal. However, there is a clear difference between giving children space to play and leaving them completely unsupervised. Throughout our visit, many children were running wild, some displaying rude and even bullying behavior. There were older children without younger siblings charging through the toddler area -- not to play, but simply to tear through, destroy things, and then run back out. This created an unsafe environment for the younger children who were supposed to be enjoying that space. I also observed a staff member circling the area, (multiple times) clearly witnessing children hitting each other in the head and tackling one another with foam blocks in the back play area, yet never stepping in to intervene or redirect this rough play. The lack of rule enforcement is what truly made this place unsafe. Unlike other indoor playgrounds where staff actively step in, set boundaries, and protect kids, here the rules seemed nonexistent. This lack of rules and staff supervision ultimately led to a full-on altercation and my children being physically attacked. When the parents were politely informed, instead of addressing their children's behavior, they became aggressive, confrontational, and frankly trashy. This forced us to make the decision to leave much earlier than planned -- and to make matters worse, one of my daughters left with a bleeding foot where she was scratched as well as down her back and neck. We did speak with staff as we rushed our way out, and they were polite, but they told us they had to remain "a neutral party." Considering there are cameras in the facility, I feel there was an opportunity to review what happened and handle it differently. Instead, we chose to take the higher road and remove ourselves, while the aggressors (who were cussing and arguing in front of children and children were bullying so many kids) were allowed to stay. What could have been a wonderful day ended up feeling like a waste of money and an upsetting experience for our kids. My advice to other families is to stay with your children and supervise closely, because the staff will not intervene. Or better yet - go to a different indoor playground where they have trained staff to enforce rules and protect children at play. Recommendation to management: This facility could truly shine if staff were trained and empowered to enforce age-appropriate play zones, step in when rough play crosses the line, and address unsafe or aggressive behavior when it arises. Parents expect a safe environment when they pay admission, and until rules are enforced consistently, this playground will remain unsafe. read more

LONG STORY SHORT-- I experienced discrimination here! Imagine taking your two children, under two, to Scramble and being told you have to leave your infant bc your 24 month old is not allowed in the infant area. Mind you, she is a pound heavier than my 10 month old. Secondly- it is not what you say, it is how you say it. I'm an adult who may not have read a sign.. and I can follow rules. I was approached in an extremely rude and awkward fashion by Paris. I immediately left the area. I thought it was funny because when I went into the infants area, there were multiple 10 year olds rough housing. It was a clearly unenforced rule. When I left, I didn't make a fuss but stayed about two hours to let the kids enjoy their time. During that time, over 40 people out of that age range were in that area. I guess it was only enforced because I was Muslim? A woman? Didn't have a white male with me? Easy target. Kids places should be friendly to... kids and their parents. Shame on Paris, Scramble and their upper management for their lackadaisical follow up treatment when I lodged a complaint. P.S. get new structures/ the place is falling apart. read more

Compared to the Alexandria Scramble, this location is larger and more clean. Parking can be sparse outside, but once you're inside, you'll see a children's bookstore, a cafe, plenty of seating for adults, and large play areas for kids of all ages. For my wife, six-year-old daughter and I to go on a busy Saturday afternoon cost almost $30, but you can stay as long as you like. Our six-year-old played for hours going down the slides, climbing nets, and finding secret passageways and hidden games. read more

I'm reviewing as a guest and not a parent who reserved a place here. First time visit and definitely last. My nephew had a party here at noon on a Saturday and it was pretty jammed packed. There were quite a few birthdays happening and when we got there, the receptionist asked us for the name of birthday boy and told us to come in letting us know we needed socks. I asked him where could I leave the gift as I had my toddler and his stuff. He said upstairs there's a sign at the door of the birthday child. I went upstairs and saw the name Aidan who is my godsons name. Asked a worker again if I just leave it in cart and he said yeah while walking away. The room was empty and there was no last name so I decided to leave it and attend to my toddler. Epic mistake!! There was playtime which was almost an hour and it's a good space for kids to play but barely any employees to monitor. As parents were leaving from other parties, others were coming in. It wasn't as busy and we decided to go to the party room. I noticed the room where I had left the gift was not where the party was taking place. I was hoping they just moved the cart but when I didn't see the present there, I began to panic and spoke to the front desk. Apparently, at that same time there was another child with the same name as my nephew who was having a party. Unfortunately, they left and I pleaded with the front staff to please call them. This was a $135 dollar gift that I needed back to the right person. The worker looked at me as if there was no way I was getting that back but he was going to try and contact them. He said he sent an email and gave them a phone call and for me to reach out to them the following day. When I asked for a phone number, they said they didn't have one and to email them. Sad, upset, disappointed and angry. All feelings I was feeling and pretty much ruined my weekend. I emailed them the following day and they waited another day only to respond they didn't know what I was talking about and to explain what had happened. I explained and silence. No response, no reply, no acknowledgment of error in their part for having names with no last names and no way to contact them. After a couple of weeks, I went in person and asked if the parents had dropped off the gift since inside I had put a card with my name and a message. Nothing and Scramble did not want to do anything else. Not even a voucher for the birthday boy to play one time or a small toy from the shop they have. NOTHING! I accepted my loss and went and bought my nephew the same gift. The sad part is I had seen a childhood friend that day at the party of the other boy with the same name. I asked her if she could reach out and she did stating the other parents knew of what had happened and that they would reach out to Scramble to drop it off. Well I guess someone lied because scramble never got it and the other parents said they wanted to give it back. Either way, this event left a sour taste in my mouth about scramble and also about people who don't mind taking things that don't belong to them. Never going back, this place could've made this situation slightly better but they just want to wash their hands and say sorry out of luck. Not worth my money. read more

I took My GrandgIrls about 12:00 on Wednesday and we had a Great Time!!! The food was yummy! We ordered a gluten free cheese pizza (one of the GrandGirls has a gluten allergy) and the spicy chicken tacos for me. The Gluten Free pizza was prbly one of the best I have ever had. I am very big on good customer service because you spend so much on kids activities. I have no complaints, outstanding customer service! Very clean and smiles everywhere! One Lady did come tell us that 4 and 5 yrs old weren't allowed in the baby plays section but I appreciated that because I did take My 9mth old GrandGirl also. So that was for babies safety. I only wish parents would monitor their kids a little more so every kids can enjoy all of the play areas. Older kids tend to be a bit pushy and territorial. Kids will be kids. There is so much room for activities here that other places pale in comparison. There are literally four stories of stuff for the kids to climb. An hour here and your kiddo will be smoked. Surprisingly this place is very clean as well. They have a full kitchen, drinks, and a beer and wine selection for older kids ;) I can't speak to the food, but the beer and wine was a nice touch. I brought my son here on a rainy Saturday to check out the new location. We love Scramble (although it's very, very dated) in Alexandria, and were excited to see how their second location fared. Let me tell you, it's amazing! First, it's still very new and is very clean. I actually saw staff physically cleaning spaces (vacuuming, wiping surfaces, etc.) which is reassuring too. The space feels much larger than the ALX location. Going along with the newness of the facility, the price has been slightly increased for this location. At the ALX location, adults cannot go in the large play area, even to retrieve a child. At the Falls Church location, you can play with your kid(s) inside in every area. Each area is themed and is really fun! The toddler/baby area is ocean-themed with a really cool color-changing ball pit and light installations. Another smaller kid area has a merry-go-round with sea creatures! There are lots of soft play items, including a Dino dig area, a digging for gold ball pit area, a car repair area, a robot building area, a post office, and a train depot. The central feature is a ginormous 3 story play area with themes as well. There's even the Santa Maria and Amelia Earhart's plane. There are also lots of slides, obstacle courses, zip lines, and crawl spaces. Behind the play structure is a giant area with large nets, oversized soccer balls, and giant legos and puzzle pieces . This location also has food, just like the original. The original serves wine and beer I believe, but I did not see that at this location. I saw a variety of sandwiches, flatbreads, quesadillas, baked goods, and other snacks things. We had a couple of mini cupcakes that were cutely decorated for Halloween. While time slots are 2 hours, we were never told we had to leave and we stayed longer. I believe it was because it wasn't crowded. Parking is free in their lot, which is also home to a plaza with a couple of eateries and a brewery. This is a great place to take kids of different ages because there is something for every age! I know this is extremely candid, but it's the truth. Upper management doesn't seem to take a very proactive stance on correcting this issue, so be advised, if you come from a black or brown community, you will most likely experience discrimination. I was a little skeptical about this place. With a 13 month old and a 6 year old in tow, I was thinking there was no way both kids would enjoy it... but the weather was bad and the kids were bursting with energy, so we booked a two hour ay pass. We spent the whole two hours having a blast, and we all wished we didn't have to leave! It was a $14 entry fee for my 1 year old and $18 for my 6 year old, which seems a little steep, especially for bigger family with more kiddos. But it was only $2 a piece for the adults (and yes, we played too!) Like I said, both kids had a blast, so it was worth it for us. There was an infant area with a ball pit, a toddler area with lots to climb on, the enormous labyrinthine big kid play place, then a large open area for indoor sports and giant legos. There was a also snack bar with coffee, cold drinks, fruit, pizza, etc; a small gift shop type area that was mostly books; and a couple of designated party rooms. The biggest drawbacks for me were that 1. the infant and toddler areas were not monitored, so while I was playing with daughter some of the bigger kids would run through playing way too hard; and 2. to get into the play area, you had to take off your shoes (no biggie).. but the restrooms were in there. So I guess you were expected to use a public restroom with no shoes on? Anyway, I def recommend this for anyone with kids who need to release some excess energy! read more

This place is so fun, for the kids. There are lots of different things to do to let that energy out. I especially love the in-air obstacle course. The only down side is that adults can't participate in the items on the ground....but can on the obstacle course. Wow! We were looking for an activity to do on a cold rainy day. My kids and I have been to other indoor gymnasiums, scramble by far was the best by far. I would recommend it for older kids, age 5 and up. The indoor maze was so complex and intricate it provided hours of entertainment for my kids. They had a lot of seating for adults to wait and let the kids play. The snack bar was a nice added bonus too. We definitely will be back the next time we are back in town. Today, Scramble! lost my four-year old daughter and her friend for the entire first day of camp. They weren't given food or water. When the girls asked an adult staff member for food and water they were denied because they didn't have money. Clearly the staff is in dire need of training when they couldn't recognize two four year olds without any parents for seven hours. The children were dehydrated and starving when picked up. I came here to celebrate my younger sons bday and I'm hoping by the looks on his face that he was having fun. For those that have been to the other location, nothing here will stand out, but I think this place is bigger. Lots of play areas for kids of all ages and your usual kids food like pizza and snacks are available for purchase.
