We stayed here in our RV through the Harvest Host program. There were even hookups! The site was a nice, flat level site. The next day we visited the test tasting and gift shop and bought a bottle of wine. The employee was so very nice and friendly! They grow more than grapes to make wine! We were there in August, so it was between seasons. They were prepping for the big fall season with fall activities and pumpkins. It wasn't grape growing season or harvest. This winery is a bit off the beaten path, however it rewards a visit. The view of the area from the winery is one of the most beautiful I have seen in Oregon. The winery has a very small selection of wines, but all are crafted from their local Pinot Noir grapes; I found them compelling. Be sure to tase the Blanc de Pinot Noir. I don't think I would want to trek there on a rainy day (gravel roads), but with nice weather, it is worth the trip. read more

I searched Google for a good view of the Wiliamette Valley near my home and what I found was a hidden Gem right in my own neighborhood! Not knowing a lot about wine but knowing what I like I asked a lot of questions and received uncomplicated answers that a novice could understand as well as the knowledgeable aficionado My tastings consisted of four Pinot Reds and one Pinot Blanc. Building from the block up to the newest offering each one had its own distinct flavors, hints and notes. I enjoyed the Blancas it was crisp and clean it seem fresh as if it was fresh-squeezed just for me ? As to the View and the facility you're in for a surprise there are lot of things to do here nature trails and knowledgeable staff will guide you! read more

Cherry Hill Winery is a 90-acre estate located in the rolling hills of the Eola-Amity AVA. The vineyard site and chateau-inspired facilities are beautiful and would make an ideal spot for weddings, parties or simply sipping a glass of wine. The wines range in price from around $12ish-40ish and represent a sampling of what I like about Oregon pinot - delicate fruit, balanced acid and food friendly. These are not the high alcohol, massively extracted, 18 months in all-new-oak pinots that some producers create to get scores. The original reviewer feels comfortable making rude comments behind the veil of anonymity - poking fun at someone's weight and just generally being mean-spirited. Such is the internet. We spend 4 days exploring vineyards in Oregon and purchased wine at only 3 locations. Cherry Hill was one of the outstanding winery and their Pinot Noir is exceptional. The locations is beautiful with rolling vineyards and a few beautiful small homes tucked under the trees to rent by the night. You travel on a dirt road the last mile to the winery viewing the acres of grapes. Many of the winery do not compare with the view, stay the night if you can. We find the winemaker host very nice, easy to talk too and very informative. Put this on the top of your list! read more

A couple of friends and I were driving from Portland to Newport and decided that we should stop by some a winery or two along the way to get our drink on. Cherry Hill was the place we determined to go to based on a map we picked up at St. Josef's Winery. The estate here was gorgeous. Rolling hills of vineyard, totally a dream European wedding-esque backdrop. We drove through a "poverty road" on the property that had an unusual 14mph speed marker and made our way up to the main tasting room. Inside, we are welcomed by a surly old man. He's the owner of the winery and he was hammered. So we were introduced to how his wine tasting pricing works. $10 for the wine tasting. If you buy a wine, the wine tasting fee would be waved. We drank, he told us strange stories. One wine was grown on "poverty road" and we had to pay him a fine for exceeding the speed limit. Weird joke, I get it but it's not funny. Another story was about Marie Antoinette's Papillon dog and why they named their wine Papillon (the marking on the forehead looks like a wine glass). And then other stories about his annoying kids or something (I wasn't paying attention at that point.) He was drunk, he was weird. I just wanted damn wines, please just tell me the notes or something - but he didn't. The Poverty Road Pinot Grigio was $10 dollars, so it was the perfect loophole to his wine tasting fees. We each bought one. He charged us incorrectly, what a damn drunk. So he threw in a box of dark chocolate cherries for free. So yea. It's alright, you can try 6 wines for buying one bottle of Pinot Grigio. Good deals. Weird service. read more

We recently had a wonderful visit here, it's a smaller winery with product that you won't be able to find in a lot of places. If you stop by be sure to talk with the owners, they're wonderful people with a great story to share. The view there is lovely and the wines are very nice and reasonably priced. Be sure to taste their 2017 Estate Pinot Noir, we took several bottles of that home with us! Definitely worth stopping by this hidden gem! read more

Visiting this winery was such an amazing experience. First of all it is stunningly gorgeous.. secondly the wine is incredible. I loved the 2014 Cuvee Pinot Noir and the white Pinot was a pleasant surprise. The tasting was informative and fun and the overnight stay was even better. Ignore the idiotic review by Dr. X; it is telling that he/she ends the hatchet job by trolling for Internet cred. Instead, know this; Cherry Hill winery is an under appreciated gem. I'm not a sommelier or even especially knowledgeable about wine. I've had my share, though, and I found this place to have consistently tasty varieties on Pinot grape wines. That is their focus, Pinot. However, conceding that the quality of wine is a matter of individual tastes, I'll move on to the aesthetics of the grounds. The grounds are stunningly beautiful. Cherry Hill is, in fact, situated on top of a hill, with the vines arrayed on the slopes all around. We were told they have 100,000 vines on 89 acres. We were fortunate to enjoy gorgeous weather for our stay, and we could not help but marvel in the 360 degree array of beauty. The tasting room is spacious enough, but not cavernous. We were hosted by Mike, the proprietor, and he was as gracious and good humored as could be. And we did stay the night at one of the several cabins that were available. We had the place to ourselves that night, which was nice, and perhaps the bucolic loveliness we enjoyed was owed at least in part to the absence of competing personalities. But there is a great deal to be said for having a comfortable bed, refrigerator, stove, heat/AC, and a comfy sitting area with a picture window looking out over a vista of acres of grape vines. All was of recent vintage, in working order, and immaculately clean. We wanted for nothing. I hope others see this review and make the trip to Cherry Hill. It is well worth the trip! read more
