I'm going to soapbox for a minute on another gem outside the big city limits. Cherry Street Pub is great quality, and a little out of the way. I've been here twice, and wonder that I'm so lucky that such a good place is so close. I ordered steak, which was ambitious, and a side crab cake, which is usually a mistake. Well, the steak was excellent and crab cake, surprising. The menu should just say, "Maryland Crab," because there's not much "cake" to speak of. This is loaded with blue crab; and contrary to the normal convention of tons of bread and other fillers, lots of onion and garlic; there is just a ton of crab. There are some that might not appreciate that, but I love when food isn't covered up by spices and fillers. Other than nicely browned, panko crust, there is nowhere to hide inferior ingredients. My opinion: clean and delicious!! Also as a side note: purple potatoes on the roasted veggies?! Are we in mesoamerican, Peru?! No. Just a really good grab at greatness down in Lancaster, Ohio. We travel all the way from Columbus to give this restaurant and try. All I can say is, is the best food that we've had in central Ohio, and the service was awesome! I recommend anybody looking to get off the beaten path, to give his place to try. They're Buckeye Lake Cherry Street Cream Ale Beer is great! We enjoy the large menu they have available, but sadly not everything on the menu is great. The crawfish boil we had one weekend was more of a plain seafood soup. Chicken salad was awful. However, the decor inside is cute, and drinks are really great. There are some good menu items we have had such as the pulled pork Mac and cheese (yet, it's always cold when I order it.) We would come here more often to try more menu items, but we have never had good service once in the 6 times we have been at Cherry Street and have given up on going there. read more

Cherry Street Pub is known for a lot of things. But if you don't know how much they love their bar, the letter on the first page of the menu is a good indication. A very famous bar that was built in the 1900s and boy is it a looker. We sat right across from the bar and were blown away not only by the detail but the size and how well its held up. And not just the bar - the building itself is 100 years old but has been updated with modern TVs and new furnishing. It has charm like no other. In addition to the beauty of the place, the food was delicious. Options like flatbreads, pierogies, burgers, salads and more, we struggled to limit ourselves to one entree each. Going with some favorites (and my sweet tooth), I couldn't pass up the Pecan Crusted Chicken Waffles. We also downed their very own (cannot be found anywhere else) Cherry Street Cream Ale produced by Buckeye Lake Brewery. This beer is exclusive to this location and cannot even be purchased at Buckeye Lake Brewery. And let me tell you, beer so good it's worth the trip here! read more

Tried Cherry Street Pub based on the previous reviews and was not disappointed. Hubby had the pecan chicken & waffles and declared them some of the best he's ever had. Best spot I've found in Lancaster. Atmosphere is great, food is good, and alcohol options are plentiful. I had the hot Bloody Mary (yum) and the sunny? Salad, which happily had real mixed greens, and not 100% iceberg lettuce. I'll be back. read more

Took a week of vacation and went to the Lancaster Ohio area. Read a lot of great things about this restaurant so we went there for dinner our first night here. The restaurant is very popular and even for a Monday evening it was busy but we got a table quickly. The service was great. The prices are very reasonable and they have a great selection of food. The food is great and the atmosphere is great too. We will go back again several times this week because we liked it so much. Beer selection was great. I tried this new pear cider I've never heard of before. I liked it so much I bought some at the nearby Giant Eagle for later. It was from Ace Brewing Company in California. They brought out the food quickly and tasted good. I forgot what I ordered (it's not because of the pear cider, I just have a short memory) but it had ham and turkey on bread covered with a cheese sauce. Oh, and two pieces of bacon on top. I think it was a crispy type of garnish. Anyway, we'll be back to try some other food on the menu. Great place. read more

Stopped at Cherry Street Pub for the first time on Sunday for dinner. Was in the area visiting Hocking Hills and had really worked up an appetite. Stumbled upon it and was happy that I did! :) Had an excellent burger with potato salad as a side. So good. Large open parking lot across the street. We had a party of 10. They don't take reservations, but said they'd be prepared for us for dinner at 7pm on a Saturday night. They got us right in. We had the tables directly to the right as you come in the door. Broken up, not good for talking with a larger party, but we made it work. The appetizers we ordered were the soft pretzel, the Polliwog Dip & Pub Bread. All were so yummy & you can add extra chips as needed to the dip. I had the Falafel Tacos (amazing!), my husband had the Nashville Hot Mac, which he said was delicious, but was like they forgot the spice (not hot). They do not have a children's menu, but are accommodating with their menu items. They can make any mac plain, any burger plain, can do grilled cheese, etc. A lot of choices. My son loved the appetizers & his plain cheeseburger & fries. The red wine was great, they allowed my family to taste beers before they purchased a glass. Overall fantastic customer service & amazing menu! Highly recommended! We are already talking about when we will go back. read more

I have to admit when my girlfriends suggested eating at Cherry Street Pub I was skeptical because I had an unpleasant experience there in the past but the food and the service was absolutely amazing. I had the pulled pork mac and cheese and it was fantastic. So very cheesy! In fact I liked it so much we came back less than a week later for lunch. We had dinner here on the patio. We're from out of town and this was our first time. We tried several mixed drinks from the menu and all of them were great! The service was outstanding and a big part of the reason for the five stars. Kyra, our waitress was awesome, gave us really good drink recommendations, and checked on us frequently. I got the crab cakes and they were very good. My husband got The Big Lojeski (kielbasa, sauerkraut, and pierogis) and it was so so. Great atmosphere and food selection! Don't pass up trying this place again and again. They strive to go beyond the normal pub standard and introduce a menu selection of varying flavors. Was in the Hocking Hills area and decided to explore the surrounding area after already trying the few options there. Was definitely worth the ride out. Been here several times as there are very limited opportunities for a decent meal in Lancaster and they have a pretty good reputation. However, I have never had anything that was prepared well. The burgers are always over coked and dry. Fries are room temp. The don't keep the oil hot enough in the fryer to keep the fried fish from being greasy. Carmelized onions cooked so long and hard they were tasteless. They use good quality food and the portions are ok but they need to improve their basic cooking skills to deserve more than 3 stars read more

Great fish and chips and margaritas and love the southern chicken sandwich but when you put vinegar on your fish and chips then you eat the paper it is served with! The waitresses never refill your drinks and they take forever to check on you and have snotty attitudes! Also when i order a salad instead of fries with my sandwich they never bring it out to me! I have to ask for it! Like when did arguing with the customer become common? This place could be nice if they didnt hire bitchy waitresses!!! read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch. Our server Michelle was awesome. I judge most servers by how well they do with keeping my drink full. Every time Michelle walked by she checked our drinks. I had the pub bbq burger which was amazing. My wife had the chica bella sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. We spoke with the manager(owner?), Gabe who brought our food to us and he was awesome. He and Michelle both checked with us a couple of times to make sure that everything was ok. There was a great vibe among the staff. They seemed to enjoy their work and worked well together. read more
