I cannot recommend this place enough. My wife and I stopped in while staying in town and were blown away. Our first night we sat at the bar to drink and Jordan was the bartender and he was hands down the best I've ever met in my life. He was attentive and made great conversation. You can tell he has a passion for what he does and was able to judge our taste pallets for things we would like. He made the trip worth it alone. We returned the next day for food and were equally impressed. I got the Buffalo chicken dip and it blew me away. There was an insane amount of shredded chicken and the house made tortilla chips were some of the best I've had. I also had some of the boneless wings and were pretty impressed and would recommend both items. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could and we will be adding this to our list of routine places to go! read more

The Pub on Broadway has been a staple since 2005, with good reason. The bar is a work of art, with warm hardwood features and a great selection of options. The menu is diverse, including Brussels sprouts topped with hot honey ($5), a bourbon-bacon burger made with sauteed mushrooms & onions, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, house-made bourbon sauce, and provolone, $19), a Pub-made mac & cheese entrée (house-made five cheese blend sauce, cavatappi pasta, topped with shredded cheddar-jack, served with toasted focaccia bread, $17), a full pizza menu, and a kids' menu with hot dogs, grilled cheese, buttered noodles, and chicken tenders ($7-8). I was moderately hungry, so I ordered a cup of chili ($7) and a side of battered fries ($5), along with a cider and bourbon boilermaker. My aunt and uncle recently moved here and we have loved exploring the little restaurants in Granville. The pub is exactly the type of experience you would hope for at a spot with its title. We started with the fried green beans which were really unique and super tasty. I got a glass of red wine and my husband got an old fashioned and both were really good for a bar atmosphere. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and we were able to sit outside which was nice! I got a chicken Caesar salad and a side of fries for dinner, and it was absolute perfection and a lot of Parmesan which I love. They have nice and crispy fries. This place has gone through some changes over the years but one thing that is always consistent is their bartenders. They are always attentive and funny. Food can be hit and miss and seems to change a lot, but I have my go to items that are winners (fish and chips and the meatloaf). I hope they don't get rid of those. Family of 4 ate here on a Sunday for lunch. We sat inside but right at the front, where the large windows slid open which we appreciated. Decent menu with a variety of items to choose from. Unfortunately that's where the good experience ends. Waitress was mediocre and not overly friendly. It took about 40 mins after we ordered to get our food. The waitress never stopped by within that 40 mins to apologize for the delay, why it was taking so long or refill our drinks. I ordered the grilled bologna and chips. The bad was the host - in a Hilton Head Sweatshirt he had a sucker in his mouth, on his phone with a runny nose he kept wiping on his sleeve. Has no customer service skills whatsoever. Someone needs to train him on the basics as well as a 911 on hygiene- wash your hands. The good - the bartender Jordan was of service, knew his beer, checked back and ensured we had everything we needed. Food was great! Great ambiance in the bar. Back to the bad - host blew his runny nose. Did not wash hands yet again, bussed tables, sat at bar not opened and played on his phone. The start of our experience was not positive. There is no beer list. You have to either scan it or walk in cramped space to a "board" No paper lists! Stike 1 l ordered the meatloaf, informed they didn't have it. Strike 2. I ordered a ceasar salad with grilled shrimp and my husband ordered a burger. When our order came out, the shrimp was not grilled. I asked the server and he said it was sauteed. It was not even warm! Strike 3. Server said he would get a new order of shrimp. We came here three years ago and had good service and food. We've returned many times, since trying to repeat the experience or even get close and after today we are not coming back, trying hard to support local but the service here is horrible, it takes FOREVER to get your food. Today we ordered 8 boneless wings, a turkey wrap and a kids meal and got it 48 minutes later in a restaurant that was maybe 60% full. The server dodged us up until about 10 minutes before we got the food and said sorry they are all backed up for some reason. Long story short it's just not worth the wait for bar food and bad service. Unless you are with another adult and can drink while watching tv to help with time it's a no go for me moving forward. Located right on Broadway which is the Main Street in Granville, the Pub was very easy to get to with lots of street parking available. It was very busy when we went and there was a 20 minute wait, but there were a lot of shops and boutiques along the street to check out and nice benches to sit on while you wait. It's typical pub fare but I did like that the burgers could be beef, chicken or black bean. Nice selection of drinks as well! I had the fish and chips and that hit the spot! We were lucky to get a table here on a Sunday morning-almost afternoon. Broadway in Granville was busy and the few dine in restaurants on this strip already had waiting lines out their doors. Imagine this is the local watering hole. Food was good. Ordered the jalapeño wontons which were yummy and my 3 gal pals and I each order a sandwich. They were good as well. My wife and I had lunch at the Pub yesterday. Beautiful fall day with open windows letting the mild fresh air in the restaurant. We were seated promptly and service wise no complaints. This is where the good ends. The food was mediocre to bad at best. Fried cauliflower was old and greasy and mushy. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with what tasted like old mushrooms. The chicken was tough and stringy, the bread grilled on one side and damp on the other fell apart. what they called kettle chips I have no idea what they really were. My wife's BLT's bread was the same and fell apart. She did say the bacon was edible. To top this all off this excursion was $58 with tip. I should have taken the money out of my pocket, lite it on fire and I would have enjoyed it more. I love to support local businesses but I will not be back here. read more

I've been coming here for 6 years, but it will no longer be on my go-to list for dining in this area. The prices have increased and the menu has changed. I'm ok with this. What is not acceptable is reducing the quality of food you are serving your customers whilst raising prices. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip and the pub club sandwich. The dip was served with low quality tortilla chips that were mostly broken pieces. Additionally, the sandwich was greasy, nearly 40% smaller than usual and served with greasy store bought chips rather than the home cooked kettle chips that they've served on previous occasions. Ordered mashed potatoes. They tasted awful, like they had been sitting out all day. I realized after I had bitten into them that there was a fly wedged inside. My waiter (who was very nice and polite) also exclaimed that this was disgusting. After my waiter spoke with the manager, he told me the manager offered 50% off my meal (not even the bill!) After working in the service industry, I cannot believe that a manager was informed someone had a bug in their food and did not feel the need to check in or speak with the table. On top of that, offering 50% off the entree, instead of comping the whole meal is ridiculous. This is a health hazard and just straight up gross. I won't be coming back. read more

A nice bar and grill restaurant in downtown Granville. Makes me think of Cheers meets small-town Ohio. The onion rings were good. Wish the dipping sauce - I think that's horseradish I was tasting - was more pronounced (I love horseradish!). My Salmon BLT Wrap was good. The salmon was a tad on the dry side, but still tasty; he tomato, bacon and mayo helped. I subbed sweet potato fries, but the kitchen sent out regular fries. I said something to our waiter, and he relayed it to the kitchen who made them and sent them out. But, they weren't that flavorful (always a bummer). read more

Our tradition continues..... going to the Pub on Broadway the weekend of Thanksgiving. We arrive at opening (11am) after cutting our Christmas tree's at Timbuk Tree Farm. Our group is always in the double digits and filled with boisterous adults and spunky kids. This year was no different. The Pub accommodated our group wonderfully pulling multiple tables together allowing us to be one large group. Our server was absolutely fantastic! In fact she may have been the best we have ever had!!!! Our huge order for all 14 of us was pretty close to being 100% correct. What a tough feat in itself. My husband had ordered Carolina Gold Boneless wings and he got BBQ boneless wings. He did not say a word during the chaos. Other than that I believe we were thrilled with the food. Here is why The Pub on Broadway is not getting 5 stars. We have had this same tradition for 8 or 9 years. Every year we cut our tree, come in for lunch, and plan to kick off the holiday season together by raising a pint of Christmas Ale. This year the Pub did not have one Christmas Ale on tap or in a bottle! This is the first time this has happened to our group. I am so hopeful that they read this review and they plan accordingly next year. I know that a good portion of our group would have stayed longer had they had at least one Christmas Ale on hand. Instead we all left choosing to find another establishment with a Christmas Ale. I truly think that after Thanksgiving is the perfect time to offer that kind of beer for your patrons. Especially with your proximity to Timbuk. So please consider it for next year. read more

It's been a year of no food or drink except what we have had at home, then we escaped for a week end away (vaccinated) and found THE PUB down the hill from Dennison college. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating, good food and great beer selection, that's not to say they don't have cocktails, but the sight of a 20oz pint of Guinness left us with no choice. We had wings and pizza, both were delicious.
