It's only about 12 miles from my home in Westerville to Dublin but we don't often make the drive. Looking for something different tonight prompted us to head to Dublin and to the Dublin Village Tavern. The tavern is housed in a historic building that is over 100 years old. The building itself was worth the trip. The food, however, was the real highlight. I had an exceptionally good Shepherds Pie while my wife enjoyed the Irish Kettle dinner that came with corned beef, bangers, rashers. Cabbage, and potatoes cooked in a Guinness based broth. Love the ambiance of this place. However, Shepherd's Pie is NOT made with beef because you don't shepherd a cow. That would be a cottage pie. So, we shared the fish and chips. Too much bread and it's not crisp but rather wet. The service is really good and they know now to make a Hugo Spritz. Hope your experience varies.... read more

This was my first time at DVT and I absolutely loved it. It was such a comfortable, cozy, casual vibe. Their service was excellent and fast and the food was super good! The beer was so cold and refreshing. We had the Irish egg rolls - you have to try them!! I had the club sandwich with fries for my main dish and it was so good and like the perfect club/dictionary definition of it. Will 100% be going back. Walked in and was seated quickly. Hostess was nice and gave us our menus. We got waters and Guinness. The Guinness was really good from the tap, smooth, and hit the spot. We ordered the fish and chips, the fish didn't have a lot of fish in it, it was pretty thin and it was mostly the crispy fried part on the outside. Chips, a.k.a. french fries were fine and the bread pudding dessert was not what we were expecting. Our server seemed to want to get us out the door. She kept coming back and to our table to check on us at the end, so we felt like we needed to wrap it up and go. overall it was a pretty three star experience. I grew up in Canton but both of my older siblings went to college in columbus and then relocated here after college graduation. My sister ended up in a Dublin location, and so I feel like I have been eating here- without living in Dublin, for over a decade. Flash forward the spring of 2025, my fiance and I relocate from Houston, TX to Dublin! This place has officially become apart of our rotating date night/ friends and family are visiting/ too lazy to cook spots! This is a very cool joint. The old house exterior (legit) in the old-town throwback neighborhood by the river is great. Then you get inside and you feel like you are in a pub back in Ireland. My salad was very good and my wife enjoyed the shepherd's pie. I came here on Friday for lunch and I was supposed to come back to work, but the ambience was so cozy that I decided to stay and have a couple more beers, and I don't regret it. Since I entered, I felt welcome, I sat at the bar. I ordered my chicken wings, and my salad the server or the bartender in this case was pretty kind and attentive, she always asked me if I needed something else. I've been here before, but just for a quick bite and the food is always good but this was my first time having the wings and I love them. I can come back anytime and have those precious wings and my side salad. I won't come back on a Friday for lunch because it's dangerous. I might fall into temptation and stay there for a couple more beers, but I'm definitely coming back to these comfortable Tavern. read more

Came here Saturday of St Patricks day parade in downtown Dublin. Little bit of wait but enjoyed the outside area with a beverage. I think can usually call ahead. Great pub food. Burgers,sliders and Ruben were ordered and group was happy with choices! Skinny sweet potato fries if those are your thing. Typical Irish bar feel so fun with friendly servers. read more

What a great dinner. Old house has been transformed into a cozy restaurant. In warm weather you can sit outside on the patio and "people watch". We got there, put our names on the wait list and got a beverage. The pours are generous and the beer selection is great. Friendly staff from start to finish. Was so excited to try this place with my son, but it just didn't have all the right feels. We were lucky we didn't have to wait for a seat on a busy Saturday night. The place had a warm and cozy feel. I ordered the classic tavern burger with pimento cheese and fries, my guest ordered cork sliders with cheese and a side of onion rings. I did not care for the pimento cheese, spread. I guess I was expecting the southern style cheese, which I do not feel this was similar to. There were 2 cork sliders and they were nothing to write about. The onion rings were slightly overcooked. The server was busy, but didn't really communicate much at all with her tables. Delicious and cozy! We popped in on a fall Friday night and were welcomed and advised it would be a half hour wait or so--not bad at all for no rez on a Friday! So we grabbed a drink at the bar and the other folks waiting were friendly too! We got seated much faster than we thought and in the cute little front room. I went rogue and ordered a tuna melt with chilli and hubby got a burger and fries. The only feedback I have is a little less chili powder in the chili. Otherwise food was great. Always a favorite of mine. The food is good and priced nice. I had the house salad with salmon. The salmon was cooked well and not dry. My husband had the Mac and cheese with chicken. It was delicious and spicy as buffalo style. We also enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip. Most of all I am sooo happy that Kilkenny beer is back on tap!!! My favorite hard to find Irish beer. This is a great place to visit with a group, it's very cozy! Our group of 4 came in 30 minutes before closing but it was no problem. Our server was very nice, his name was Bruce. He was on top of filling our waters and our food all came out correct, no errors! My Cobb salad was so fluffy and not skimpy. The toppings were overflowing and they gave me TWO ranches! The produce was very fresh and tasty. The kettle dinner was "great" and we loved the appetizer (spinach artichoke dip). The shepards pie was ok, the bread crumbs on top were plain and had the flavor of oyster crackers. The meat was not lamb, it was beef. It wasn't ground. And lastly the meatloaf had good flavor and texture. No complaints. I suggest this place for a dinner, they have a very diverse menu! read more

Let's start at the beginning. It is not wheelchair accessible. I'm sure they believe that because it's in a historic building it doesn't have to be, but that's not necessarily true. Next the food. If you go there, I highly recommend you try the egg roll. It's a Reuben egg roll and here's a little secret, I don't like sauerkraut. However, this egg roll was amazing! The service was great. They were attentive but not "in your face" and she was very willing to make suggestions. I got the fish and chips. Probably one of the best I've had. They have a nice crispy beer batter that they use and although we all know it came out of the fryer, it was not overly greasy. It sat on top of some delicious fries and oddly enough, even with the fish sitting on them, they weren't greasy either. The coleslaw was good, but lacked seasoning for my taste. I added a little salt and pepper and it was great. I got the bread and butter pudding for dessert. Honestly, not my favorite. My husband and I have been trying bread pudding all over the country. I could barely find the Irish caramel sauce, which drew me to it. It was good but not in my top 10. read more

They also have a gigantic drink menu with an extensive list of Irish Whiskey, if thats your interest.
