I highly recommend them if you want help to address and treat anything that can be affecting your true health and happiness in your life! I especially love my at-home treatments with my Euro Trainer machine. I love that I can be treated right in the comfort of my home by telephone when needed. I love that I can go into the office in person on a regular schedule, as every session is enlightening. I love the staff at the font desk too. They are warm and friendly, patient and kind. I have a passion for living in the present and looking forward to a beautiful future, so why not allow someone to help and guide you! Life is wonderous and, please, don't ever give up...get help! We were only given 1 life to live, so live it to the fullest! Cameron Park Counseling Center has changed my life for the better. This counseling center is, by far, somewhere that you should really consider becoming a patient - if you are considering it, or even if you are not considering it. I think counseling is a very healthy outlet for any individual, at any point in their life. I have been seeing Marie N. for a few years now. To tell you the truth, it is like coming to see a really good friend each week. I am always greeted with love, care and an open ear. I am provided with life advice from A to Z (i.e. career, relationship, friendship, financial, health, etc.). When I first started seeing Marie, she walked through some questions with me, to get an idea of my stress levels, relationships, etc. My anxiety and stress results were on the highest level of the spectrum. Since then, we have worked on breathing techniques, meditation techniques, etc. The techniques helped me get through the hardest years of my life. Marie and I have worked through various - life changing - books on relationships, life skills, etc. We have come to know each other very well, and she influences my real life decisions each and every day. She has helped me get through loss, heartbreak and pain. She has helped me work towards closure with the pain of the past and remain hopeful and positive for the future!

In short he was struggling and began acting out in a number of ways. Ways not typical of who he is and was as a person. We identified this through some very apparent, key events that took place in his life. In briefing, our son was headed toward a path of disaster and laced with confusion, frustration, betrayal, trust & love issues and you name it. All while his body is physically morphing into manhood. He was a mess. We were afraid for his future and became a mess with him. His mother would sob at night. We felt bad for him but also knew if we didn't help him find his path it could be disastrous for his future. A lot of people thought he was dark or hopeless but those who knew him closely, knew he was a special human loaded with potential and greatness. It just needed to be harnessed. That's when we connected with Ben Murphy, one of the best things that ever happened for our family. Our son has been seeing Ben regularly for over a year and couldn't be better. I mean a complete turn around. I think it took a few months before actually noticing real difference in attitude and his increased optimism with life in general. (Without ANY medications or drugs) our son genuinely was able to work through some key issues he was having because of Ben's work. I highly recommend Ben Murphy for any family counseling needs, specifically troubled youth or youth issues, he was an answer to prayer. Also just a solid human being in general who is the real deal. We have had our son continue to see him weekly for over a year and he actually looks forward to their weekly meeting. Ben has become a safe place and from our sons words, keeps him accountable and encourages him to do great things with his life. If you are having any issues with your child or in a season where you just need help. Someone to help you get through whatever it is, someone who is safe and genuinely cares, but also no BS, don't even hesitate to schedule with Ben Murphy. Hands down the best counselor I've ever met and he provided incredible results for our family beyond what we believed even possible. Our son did the work, but Ben laid down the framework and template for him and most importantly by authentically caring and loving on him he created a bond of trust so that they could take the journey together. Even though we feel like our son is on the right path and doing great we are continuing our commitment to having him meet regularly with Ben as we believe it has changed his life. We are beyond forever grateful and would encourage anyone looking for a safe, professional that genuinely cares about people to connect with Ben without hesitation. He's the real deal.

I saw Denise for a number of years and she really helped me work through some of my biggest life problems and obstacles. I still hear her voice in my head giving me guidance, sometimes on a almost daily basis. Denise gave me the ability to feel sorry for instead of hate the person who perpetrated a crime against me, she helped me find inner confidence to believe in myself and to recognize that I deserve the best in life, and she gave me the ability to handle all of life's challenges by focusing on the positive and - on the flip side - asking "what's the worst that can happen?" and then embracing that potential outcome as a possibility. Denise knows when to laugh with you, when to empathize, when to let you draw your own conclusions, and when to guide you to a conclusion. If the issue was big enough, she knew when to state her opinion, but that was rare. She helped me solve issues on my own, but when she stated an opinion, I would listen carefully because I knew there had to be something pressing she needed me to know. I always learned from that. Let's face it, there's never time for therapy. I didn't have time either, but like going to the gym, I was always happy afterwards that I went. I've seen other therapists and most of them either could barely remember my case or name, or they were aloof and mechanical, or they seemed to be going through a standard template approach, or all they did was fill up an hour with interesting conversation that had no apparent process or planned outcome. Denise is not like that. Her approach is mission driven, she is helping you not just solve your problems, but to be the best "you" possible. Not everyone can do that, but she does it, really well. I went to the gym for so many years addressing my physical health, but I just assumed mental health is an automatic. It's not though. Denise helped change my life in so many ways, and I'm thankful for the difference she made.

I had a Chronic Condition that will likely stay with me for the rest of my life that does affect my quality of life, but I'm getting along quite well. My wife was having issues with stress because of it and we needed some counseling. Lori recommended we have individual sessions before having a couples session so we did so. On my first session, she told me that what I told her would be confidential and would not be shared with my wife, so I could let it all go. In light of that, I had told her some things that my wife's family was telling me that I did not want getting back to my wife because it would hurt her relationship with her family. After my wife had her 1 on 1, she came home and started to yell at me about the stuff I had told Lori in confidence. On our next meeting that was both of us with Lori, I asked Lori why she shared these things with my wife. She got angry and said I better not be accusing her of breaking her promise, and that as a Licensed Therapist she would NEVER do such a thing. I then asked my wife where she heard these things, and my wife told Lori it was from her! Lori got even more angry with me because I asked her to explain how this was supposed to work if I did not feel trust in her to keep my secrets when asked. She got even angrier and said she did not think she would be able to help me anymore. I knew she was right and I then walked out of the session, but my wife stayed behind. I knew that Lori getting angry at me was not a good sign. My wife would not talk to me after that night and eventually go hooked on Prescription Medications, and we ended up getting divorced. I just recently found out why! My wife is now sober again, and we are still not together, but we had a long talk about what happened. Starting that night, and the following sessions my wife had with Lori, she told me that Lori told her she should not stay with me anymore. Lori said she was also married to a man that had a Chronic Condition and that it was the best thing she had done to leave her husband because it was too hard on her marriage. She then convinced my wife that she should do the same. She also told my wife that she should go and try to work things out with her ex husband from 10 years prior. This broke my wife's heart and she became even more depressed, so Lori recommended she go to a Psychiatrist. This Psychiatrist proceeded to medicate my wife with some Trial Medications for a few months. During this time, my children told me that my wife was not herself. She started drinking, she was sleeping along side the road because she could not figure out how to get herself home. She even moved in with her ex husband to do what Lori recommended she do and try to work things out. That ended in disaster and now the kids HATE their father. And all this time, the Psychiatrist kept adding more and more pills even though my wife kept telling her she was not feeling right. Neither Lori, nor the Psychiatrist pulled my wife's Driver's License, even though she was clearly out of it. That is alarming. Long story short, BOTH my wife and I completely blame the divorce on Lori. My wife believes Lori was mad at me for calling her out and that's how it all started and my wife was in no condition to know what was happening. That's a VERY dangerous person to have as your counselor. I HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere. It's now been a few years, but this is all first hand experience, so I thought I should share. Good luck, and I truly hope you find a good counselor for what is hurting you. A good counselor can be a great help, but a bad one can cause more damage than you can imagine.

Joy does NOT have the ability to do your work for you and lastly Joy does NOT by any means sell herself short on the services that she provides. Joy, you are an absolute god send. Seriously.... I have been thru various counseling all of my life but that didn't resolve my issues nor did it really give me the tools needed to actually resolve them. So since I had tried that previously and pretty much got the same result, I knew I had to try something different. So, what did I do? I went to my trusty yelp and reached out and received several responses. I had a few phone interviews because I needed to find the right person to help me thru some heavy stuff. I liked Joy right off the bat. You can simply tell by the tone in her voice that she is an angel. I signed up for 6 sessions with Joy...and after my 6th session, I signed up for 6 more. And I threw Joy some crazy challenges (nothing in my life has EVER been easy)....there were issues that she flat out told me she couldn't do anything about (I appreciate the honestly more than you know) and there were some issues where I really feel like I challenged her but guess what? SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME. SHE NEVER TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION (again she doesn't have a magic wand). Instead what I received was far far greater than any gift...Joy gave me the tools I needed to see where my deficiencies came from and also gave me some positive insight as to how to fix the behaviors and this is something I now work on EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's made me a better person. So if you feel like you are stuck, and don't know where to go, and you have tried traditional methods (and they haven't really worked) I would seriously urge you to give Joy a call...set up and appointment and more importantly work on your (O&*%(Q*&)%(.
