Cheryl is like the Marriage mechanic. She is tuned in to what your relationship needs. After 20 years of marriage and 2 prior marriage counselors that were not so good I was ready to call it quits. First of all my husband hated going to counselors and when we met with Cheryl he had a different attitude. Cheryl made me take a deep look at myself and made me realize that it takes two to change a relationship. It's been 3 months since we started working with her and our marriage is thriving. We love the tools that Cheryl has given us and honestly we have never gotten along better. I wish we would have found her earlier. She rocks! read more

Cheryl taught my SO and me to communicate better as a couple. As a result, he and I have an increased amount of compassion toward each other and we've learned to consistently strengthen our relationship through our communications. These days I'm noticing the same skills I learned in that setting have enhanced my communications in a variety of other contexts -- an unexpected plus! Definitely worth the time and effort, and once the benefits became apparent (faster than I imagined), "the work" involved no longer seemed like work at all, but a way out of feeling stuck. read more

My husband and I went to Cheryl for marriage counseling. She seemed disinterested in what I had to say, as well as my husband. She seemed like she was just there to collect a check with an occasional, "how did that make you feel?" thrown in. Thankfully, we found someone else to work with, who was more invested in our success. She's kind of an odd duck when it comes to being a therapist. You expect someone who is warm and fuzzy, and she definitely is not. read more

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my practice focuses on healing and strengthening relationships for adults, couples and teens. Services are also provided in Spanish. Challenges are a normal part of life. Counseling can provide practical solutions to these challenges so you and your loved ones can experience a greater sense of balance, fulfillment and well-being. All people have the innate ability to heal, grow and change. I will team with you to help with that process. While it's impossible to alter difficult situations of the past, you can improve the way you feel about them today. My ultimate vision is to see you thrive and living the life you desire! I have been licensed since 2006, working with children, teens, adults and couples.

Meet the Business Owner: Cheryl M.

I earned a degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz in 1989, and worked in the field as a child and adolescent counselor, as well as served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica. I graduated in 2004, with a Master's in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Holistic Studies, from John F. Kennedy University in Campbell, CA. My clinical training was completed at the Process Therapy Institute in Los Gatos, CA, also in 2004. As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, I completed 3000 hours of supervised clinical practice working with children, teens, adults, couples and families. I obtained my Marriage and Family Therapist license from the Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2006, and have been working with children and families ever since. As a licensed therapist, I have worked as a Clinical Supervisor, Program Manager, Associate and Clinical Director for counseling agencies serving families and children in the Silicon Valley.
